About the role:

This role is based in Ashford, Kent and is offered on a hybrid basis, working from home, the office and also requires regular travel travel across Kent and Medway.

As the Operations Manager for our Community Team you will be responsible for the daily activities of a diverse group of staff working with people who have experienced different crime types, reporting to the Area Manager.

You will need to demonstrate your ability to lead across many issues whilst retaining a focus on service delivery and quality outcomes from the work that we do.

This job is a busy one so you will need to manage competing priorities, very different personalities, challenge respectfully and have the resilience to bounce back when things do not work out as you would have wanted.

You will need:

• To be able to work independently against an agreed plan
• To remain empathetic whilst making sure staff are holding safe but challenging caseloads
• Able to work in partnership with other agencies and with team members.
• Resilience. This is a busy job with multiple demands on your time so you will need to remain focused on what your priorities are.

The Restart Project helps people transform their relationship with electronics by supporting groups to teach repair at community events, developing fixing spaces and campaigning for a Right to Repair and better waste policy. We are looking for a strong project manager to be our new Fixing Factory Co-Lead.

What is a Fixing Factory? Fixing Factories do what they say on the tin! We help people fix their broken electricals and learn new fixing skills, shifting us from our current take-make-waste linear system towards a repair economy fit for the future. They generate public interest in repair. Through a series of stepping stone activities, we take people from never having looked inside an electrical item towards, if they wish, fixing for others. 

The Fixing Factories is a partnership between The Restart Project and Possible, funded by The National Lottery Community Fund. It launched in April 2022 with two initial sites in Brent (now closed) and Camden. After the initial development grant we secured funding to continue the Camden site, and open and mature three additional sites in London, including one which has already opened in Hackney, with a proportion of our focus being on long-term financial self-sustainability and scaling the model across the UK. The Restart Project is leading on the delivery of two sites, one in Hackney and another future London location (4th site), whilst Possible lead on the established Fixing Factory in Camden and an upcoming Haringey site.

Each new Fixing Factory site will grow and nurture a community of repairers, be strongly linked with local residents and stakeholders, and be driven by engaged teams of volunteers. There will be a range of offers; from free community repair events to paid workshops and retail - as we develop a replicable model which will support our long term goal of ‘a Fixing Factory in every high street’. 

About the role

The focus of this role will be overseeing the Hackney Fixing Factory, launching a 4th site (subject to funding), and working with existing repair group communities, the council, and other partners in those areas. You will be bringing to life an already developed business model, ensuring that the Fixing Factories are run in a safe, effective and financially sustainable way, as well as responding to the needs of the community and continuing to strategically develop the Fixing Factories programme.

You will be working with the Fixing Factory workshop managers, who are responsible for day to day operations at the sites, ensuring income generation targets are being met, driving the development of our accredited skills and training programme with support from consultants and ensuring the Fixing Factories are scalable and replicable. 

Key responsibilities

This role involves a combination of strategic development of the overarching Fixing Factories project, on which you’ll work closely with a counterpart at Possible, oversight of the two sites that Restart is responsible for and the workshop managers that manage their day to day operations.

What you do
Main purpose of post
This is a senior and strategic role in our fundraising team. You will be
responsible for leading the development and delivery of our Individual Giving
strategy, ensuring sustainable growth in income from individual donors. You
will oversee the retention and stewardship of existing supporters and

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Development and Planning
 Lead the development and execution of a multi-year Individual Giving
strategy.

Campaign Management
 Plan, manage, and evaluate a portfolio of Individual Giving campaigns
including:
o Regular giving

 Test and implement new fundraising approaches to increase donor
conversion and value.
 Ensure all communications reflect the charity’s tone, values, and brand.

Donor Retention and Stewardship
 Design and implement supporter journeys that deepen donor

 Work with our Marketing Manager to oversee donor communications to
specific audience groups and stewardship activity, ensuring a positive
supporter experience.
 Monitor donor behaviour and lifetime value to inform stewardship and
upgrade strategies.

Legacy and In Memory Giving
 Provide strategic oversight of legacy and in-memory income streams.
 Line manage and support the Legacy and In Memory Manager to deliver
agreed targets and KPIs.
 Support the development of a legacy marketing plan to grow our legacy
pipeline.
 Support development of relationships with legacy pledgers and inmemory
donors

Budgeting and Performance
 Manage income and expenditure budgets for Individual Giving.
 Track and analyse campaign performance against KPIs and ROI targets.
 Maximise all gift aid opportunities within the agreed audiences.
 Report regularly to the Head of Fundraising on performance,
opportunities, and risks.

Cross-Team Collaboration
 Work with Communications, Digital, and Data colleagues to ensure
campaigns are well-coordinated, data-driven, and creatively delivered.
 Champion best practice in data protection and ethical fundraising.
 Stay informed on sector trends, regulations, and innovations in individual
giving.

The EMHIP (Ethnicity and Mental Health Improvement Programme) Mobile Hub Support Worker has been co-designed with individuals with lived experience of mental health care to provide direct, person-centred support to individuals in their local communities.

The Croydon BME Forum and Asian Resource Centre Croydon, in partnership with South West London Integrated Care System (SWL ICS) and South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust (SLaM) are working together to address the ethnic inequalities in health and social care through the Ethnicity and Mental Health Improvement Programme (EMHIP). One of the key interventions of EMHIP is the implementation of the Mental Health & Wellbeing Mobile Hub. This is a mobile, all age, whole family hub service, delivered within both faiths based and community-based organisations.

The Mental Health & Wellbeing Mobile Hub team will be a dedicated team of experienced, culturally aware support workers and clinical staff embedded in the community to provide services to all local residents, but with a specific focus on BAME communities. This team will be based in different locations across the borough, working within BAME communities, alongside faith groups and existing wellbeing hubs in Croydon.

Job Summary

The Mobile Hub Team Support Worker is a skilled, knowledgeable, and empathetic person, who enjoys working with people, taking a person-centred approach. They must be flexible, adaptable, and comfortable working in an active setting, with people and professionals across the health and social care system. They will be practical, resilient, well organised and have excellent communication skills. 

As a Hub Support Worker, you will be responsible for working with the team, providing advice and practical help for local residents in need of mental health support or general well being/social support. You will work as part of a wider hub team, rotating between different community locations, providing one-to-one support, and making referrals to the team psychologist and secondary care services, as well as helping people to access other agencies and services, such as benefits, housing, debt services. You will work with the mobile hub team to offer wellbeing activities, including workshops as well working with primary care and collaborating with community services.

You will work in a variety of settings, including:

• Faith-based groups 
• Community settings 
• Colleges 

Main responsibilities

• Working closely with CBME Forum Mobile Hub Team Manager
• Support new referrals and offer a person-centred, wellbeing assessment that identifies their wellbeing difficulties and develops a plan to support positive mental and general wellbeing. 
• Ensure that staff resources are coordinated to provide cover being aware of the team’s work/life balance.
• Deliver one-to-one support to hub users and manage a caseload of individuals as agreed with the Hub Team Manager.
• Provide advice and information relating to Welfare Benefits, including Universal Credit and work with service users to assist them with claims, online assessments, including Work Capability Assessments, applications, form-filling and contacting agencies such as the Department of Work and Pensions and London Borough of Croydon Welfare Rights and Housing teams. 
• Provide basic housing advice.
• Provide general money and debt management advice. 
• Provide information on employment opportunities and training support for clients.
• Support colleagues within the Mental Health & Wellbeing Mobile Hub, with enquiries which relate to your specialist knowledge and experience e.g., in Universal Credit, Housing, Money or Debt Management, access to training, education or employment.

Acorns Children’s Hospice Trust is looking for a Volunteering Development Manager - Hospice to play a key role in supporting the development of volunteering initiatives and projects across the three Acorns Hospices in Walsall, Worcester and Birmingham.

About the Role

Acorns Children's Hospice is a charity providing specialist palliative care and support for children and their families. Each year, we support over 750 children and nearly 1,000 families, including those who are bereaved. Volunteers are at the heart of our work, and this role is key to ensuring they are integrated into our services and supported in their roles.

As Volunteering Development Manager - Hospice, you will:

• Maximise the profile of volunteering both internally and externally

What the job involves

We’re looking for a Peer Support Senior Officer (Online Community) to join our team and help us provide high-quality support to men and their loved ones navigating prostate cancer.

The Peer Support team plays a vital role in connecting men and their loved ones to others with lived experience of prostate cancer. We do this through our One-to-One Peer Support service which matches anyone affected by prostate cancer to our trained volunteers with a similar experience and more recently our Online Community, a website-based discussion forum that provides a space for men and their loved ones to share their experiences and find support.

As a Peer Support Senior Officer (Online Community), you’ll focus on assisting the Peer Support Manager with the development and integration of our Online Community into our wider support services. Once up and running, you’ll take the lead on the day-to-day management and moderation of the community. You’ll work closely with users to understand what they need from the platform, and you’ll be key in shaping it into a safe, welcoming and supportive space where people affected by prostate cancer can connect.

You’ll also develop policies and guidelines to ensure safe and respectful interactions, recruit and support volunteer moderators, and work with other teams to share helpful news, resources and health information on the forum. You’ll use analytics and user feedback to improve the platform and support its growth, while staying informed about best practice and emerging trends in online communities.

While the strong focus of this role will be the Online Community, you’ll also help deliver our One-to-One Peer Support service, triaging enquiries, matching service users with trained peer volunteers who’ve experienced prostate cancer and help with volunteer onboarding and coordination. 

What we want from you

We’re looking for someone with experience managing an online community or similar digital support service. You’ll be comfortable providing information and support to people who may be facing difficult or emotional circumstances, and you’ll understand the importance of creating a safe and inclusive space for users to connect and share.

You’ll bring a good understanding of digital engagement, knowing how to encourage community growth and participation, and you’ll be comfortable using data and insights to guide improvements. You’ll also have experience collecting and monitoring service data to help shape decisions and measure impact.

Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken, are essential. You’ll know how to engage sensitively with people who have lived experience, making sure their voices are reflected in how services are developed and delivered. You’ll also be able to work collaboratively across teams, building relationships with internal colleagues and external partners, and supporting cross-functional projects.

You’ll need to be organised and able to manage a varied workload. A flexible, responsive approach is key, and experience supporting or supervising volunteers would be a plus.

While you don’t need to be a clinical expert, a basic understanding of cancer care in the UK, and an awareness of how inequalities can affect access to health and support services, will help you approach the role with the insight and sensitivity it requires.

The client is being open to how this could work, so we are considering a temp timesheet basis, paid hourly/daily at £146.10 per day plus holiday, as a direct employee at £38k, or as a freelance consultant at £200 per day, billed directly.

Objective:

2wish exists to provide support to anyone affected by the sudden and unexpected death of a child or young person aged 25 and under.

Aims:

• Ensure every Emergency Department has a suitable bereavement suite
• Ensure that bereavement boxes are available at each of these hospitals
• Ensure that immediate bereavement support is available for all affected by the sudden death of a child or young person
• Provide a professional counselling service and other therapies for those affected by the sudden death of a child or young person
• Provide support to individuals who witness the sudden death of a child or young person
• Provide support and training to professionals from any sector who may be affected by the sudden death of a child or young person
• To advocate and campaign on behalf of suddenly bereaved families

2wish Cymru and 2wish:

2wish has been established since 2012 and has grown from strength to strength. During this time, we have worked tirelessly to embed our service and ensure that the offer of support is made at the point of death.

We offer an immediate, consistent, high-quality and compassionate service to all individuals affected by the sudden and unexpected death of a child or young person aged 25 and under in Wales. We work in partnership with professionals who refer into the charity on behalf of the families, so they don't have to trawl through the internet for an organisation who may, or may not, be able to support. We provide immediate, and ongoing, support and are here for as long as our families need us.

We were founded as a Welsh organisation. However, in January 2024 we expanded in to Phase 1 of England (Chesire, Shropshire, Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Gloucestershire and Somserset) and in July 2025, we expanded in to Phase 2 (Merseyside, Devon and Cornwall, Wiltshire, Dorset, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.

Context of role:

2wish support anyone affected by the sudden and unexpected death of a child or young person aged 25 and under. We provide immediate casework support, as well as ongoing aftercare services including counselling, alternative therapies, play therapy, support groups, support events and a respite cottage.

We are looking for a dynamic individual with a strong track record in fundraising. This is both a hands-on role and is pivotal to the ongoing success of our fundraising targets. Working closely with the Head of Fundraising and being responsible for a small team of fundraisers, you will lead and motivate the team to reach their full potential.

Main duties:

Management & Service:

• To line manage the regional fundraising team
• To execute the organisation’s business plan
• To assist in the planning of any expansion into England, managing any staff recruited during the early days of growth
• To establish fundraising communities by recruiting volunteers, engage with corporate partners and develop and maintain relationships with volunteers.
• To monitor branding and to ensure a consistent approach regarding literature, publications, promotions, partnerships, and social media
• To perform daily leadership and management duties for the Fundraising Team
• To conduct weekly team meetings and assign achievable goals with the support of the Head of Fundraising
• To liaise with the Senior Management team
• To liaise with Trustees, key stake holders, major donors, etc
• To monitor the wellbeing of the Fundraising Team and ensure effective working
• To facilitate monthly team one to ones and annual appraisals
• To monitor predicted income against budget and ensure targets are met
• To attend appropriate training and operate within best practice for fundraising processes, including legal obligations
• To ensure the delivery of key information for statistic and analytical purposes
• To implement key strategies for the growth and future of the charity updating these on an annual basis
• To represent the charity at events and be comfortable with public speaking as necessary

General:

• To be responsible for organising own work agenda, time management and administration
• To show respect and sensitivity for the cultural and religious beliefs of families
• To undertake learning opportunities and seek them out for the team
• To adhere to all company policies and procedures including Safeguarding, Confidentiality, Health and Safety and Lone Working; and to be proactive in implementing new safe working practices as appropriate
• To attend weekend and evening community events in support of the charity as necessary
• Participate as and when required in team meetings and one-to-one meetings, and undertake, as appropriate, courses/training/other developmental activities, which is relevant to the role

It is the nature of the work that tasks and responsibilities are in many circumstances unpredictable and varied. All employees are therefore expected to work in a flexible way and tasks, which are not specifically covered in their job description may have to be undertaken.

You will be subject to performance review, which will incorporate a review of the above duties and performance over the period.

This role is subject to a DBS check.

Salary: Starting salary of £32,000 per annum

Contract type: 12-month, full-time - 37.5 hours per week

Hours: Normal office hours are 9am - 5pm, Monday to Friday, although alternative hours may be worked with line manager agreement. Work outside office hours may sometimes be necessary and will be compensated for by time off in lieu.

Annual leave: 28 days plus bank holidays. Annual leave steadily increases after five years of service. Annual leave and statutory holidays are calculated on a pro rata basis where applicable.

Pension: 2wish operate a contributory pension scheme. 2wish will auto-enrol you into the scheme in accordance with it's auto-enrolment obligations. Full details of the scheme will be provided to you once you are enrolled, including the minimum level of contributions that you will be required to make during your membership (current contributions - employer 3% and employee 5%).

Mileage: A fixed rate allowance is payable for agreed mileage undertaken on 2wish business in a private vehicle, over and above your usual journey to your workplace/s.

Location: 2wish is currently working with staff to offer a form of hybrid working and this will continue for the foreseeable future. This post will include a lot of home working, with the expectation to the successful candidate to travel to 2wish Head Office minimally once a month. There will also be significant travel across the county you reside in and bordering counties

Working pattern

This is a hybrid full-time role (typically 2 days on-site), 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday based in SW London with occasional travel to another office (around once a month).  The other office is about 20  minutes from Clapham or London Bridge.
