Regional Fundraising Manager (North Wales Region)/ Rheolwr Codi Arian Rhanbarthol (Rhanbarth Gogledd Cymru)

This is a fantastic opportunity to join Wales’ leading cancer charity as a Fundraiser. You’ll manage raising funds across an already established North Wales region with loads of scope to generate more income and grow connections.

You’ll be joining an experienced Wales fundraising team who generate over £2.8million of annual income. Your fundraising impact is seen in people affected by cancer through the services we run, the difference to lives we make and the campaigns that make meaningful change.

About the Role

The Street Engagement Team is a multi-disciplinary team that provides person-led support to people experiencing street homelessness and interconnecting needs.

A day in this role is never the same – part of it will be spent on the street, offering support to people experiencing homelessness. You might be out with another member of the team, or with one of our specialist health partners like a homeless health nurse, or substance use worker. Alongside this element of the role, the rest of your day will be spent intensively supporting a small caseload of people who are isolated from services.

You will have substantial experience in delivering a person-led, psychologically, gender and culturally informed service to people who are street homeless. You will be excellent at building and strengthening trust in relationships. You will be a problem solver, with a positive attitude towards change and service development.

The role is a job share and based at our beautiful Grade 2 listed building in Southwark. It is based on 16 hours per week working Thursdays and Fridays, with the potential to extend beyond the initial period of maternity cover.  Remote working is not appropriate for this role.

Our Centre houses an amazing collection of 25,000 children’s books as well as being a training and event centre for teachers, publishers and everyone else who works with children’s literature and cares about children’s literacy.

Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Strategic Property and Asset Manager to lead the Council's property function. This role encompasses strategic planning, development, and management of the Council's non-housing property portfolios (operational, leisure & heritage, community and commercial assets). Personal Outlook: The post-holder must have a strong commitment to the voluntary sector and a desire to make a real difference to the lives of asylum seekers and refugees. This role is suited for someone target – driven, with excellent writing skills and great attention to detail. They will be working closely with the CEO, an external fundraiser, the Welcome Centre and Operations Lead, as well as our Finance, Admin and Communications officer. The post holder will be responsible for building on a strong foundation of support from Trusts, Foundations and other grant-making bodies, will cultivate and develop strong relationships with grant-givers to grow our income and support our organisational aims.

About Borderlands fundraising: So far Borderlands’ grant fundraising work has been led by a freelance fundraiser working 3-4 days a month (“Grants and Trusts Fundraiser” in the organisational chart). The Fundraising Manager will work in partnership with them and divide the role and responsibilities according to experience and capacity. Currently, most of our income is from grants; our key funders include the Henry Smith Charity, Garfield Weston Foundation, John James Foundation, Bristol Impact Fund and Nisbet Trust. This is the first time Borderlands is recruiting for an in-house fundraiser role. In addition to working on grant applications and reports, the manager will support the Finance, Admin and Communication Officer with local giving and developing corporate partnerships.

Job Purpose
 
As BSR’s Membership Manager you will be responsible for overseeing BSR’s membership offer. You’ll work on plans to recruit members across a range of roles in the rheumatology specialty and engagement tactics to ensure members are retained year on year. 

Working closely with the Head of Marketing, Communications and Membership, you’ll drive forward a compelling value proposition for membership by refining our benefits package and developing tailored audience content. With responsibility for our digital-first membership engagement plans, you’ll work on strategies that drive our engagement, provide real-time feedback and give us insight into how our members behave. 

You’ll lead and coach a Membership Executive to develop their skills and together, provide excellent customer service and membership experience. 

Main responsibilities

Membership recruitment and retention 

• Develop and execute strategies for acquiring new members 
• Engage in digital outreach and in-person networking to promote BSR membership and develop a deep understanding of our audiences and the pressures they face 
• Cultivate relationships with current members to ensure high retention rates and insightful feedback loops 
• Monitor membership trends and adjust recruitment and retention strategies as necessary
• Support strategic networking by facilitating meetings with members and the Senior Management Team/President(s)

Customer service and member engagement 

• Serve as a key point of contact for all member enquiries, providing an exceptional service 
• Ensure a positive experience for new and existing members with engaging communications, including regular newsletters and lifecycle campaigns 
• Organise and host events, webinars, and other member engagement activities to foster community 

Database and process management 

• Maintain an up-to-date and accurate membership database (CRM) and an internal super-user 
• Track membership renewals, payments, and communication preferences 
• Analyse membership data to identify trends, opportunities for growth, and areas for improvement 
• Oversee membership billing, including invoicing, payment tracking, and collection efforts 
• Monitor membership revenue and work with the finance team to report on financial performance
• Develop pricing strategies as needed

Reporting and analysis

• Prepare regular reports on membership growth, retention, engagement, and financials for the Senior Management Team and Board of Trustees 
• Use data and feedback to continuously improve the membership offering from BSR 
• Stay up-to-date on membership trends, membership models, and best practices to keep the BSR offer relevant

Person Specification

1.  Experience of working in membership or relevant customer-facing role
