Purpose of the roles:

• To be responsible for the development, coordination, and delivery of Neighbourhood Watch’s partner project involving Neighbourhood Watch volunteers within the North West.
• Delivering training to volunteers so they can deliver information sessions to community groups. 
• Organising community events where information sessions are delivered by volunteers.
• Ensuring information sessions are delivered to the highest and consistent standards, and that feedback requests are acted upon swiftly.

Hours of employment are:

0.8FTE (28 hours per week)
12 month fixed term contract. Core hours are 10am-12pm and 2-4pm with an unpaid lunch break.

Neighbourhood Watch is looking for someone who can develop a strong volunteering base and support them. The ideal candidate will be a good self-starter and have exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire and recruit excellent volunteers and mentors who can contribute to the work.

The Royal British Legion’s Outreach Service currently operates in England, Wales and Ireland and provides, responsive, holistic, and person-centred support, to beneficiaries experiencing complex and often isolating challenges in relation to homelessness, mental health, addiction and dependency, domestic abuse, the Criminal Justice system, and children/families at risk.

Somebody goes missing in the UK every 90 seconds. Missing People exists to ease the heartache experienced by those missing someone, and to help people who are away from home find their way back to safety. Our vision is for every missing child, adult and family left behind to find help, hope and a safe way to reconnect. We are a non-judgemental, highly skilled team of staff and volunteers working for everyone who needs us. We provide free, confidential support, help and advice by phone, email, text and live chat.

The work of the charity includes helpline and intensive support services for young people who are running away, missing adults, and people whose loved ones are missing (“families”). The experiences of the people we support include: suicide and self-harm, mental health crisis, child sexual and criminal exploitation, traumatic grief (bereavement by suicide, homicide), discrimination. The frontline team support people in heart-breaking situations – the people we support often feel helpless and are living in limbo due to the ambiguous loss of their missing loved one.

THE IMPACT YOU WILL HAVE

Your role will be to provide clinical supervision to staff across the Services Team. It is essential for the frontline team to be able to maintain strong boundaries, have regular debriefing and the space to process the work they do and to reflect on how working with this trauma is impacting them, as well as to develop their practice. You will:

• Provide regular individual clinical supervision for frontline staff or Senior Coordinators / Team Leaders;
• Monitor attendance at supervision;
• Provide regular reports to the Services Leadership Team on engagement with supervision and any development needs identified;
• Facilitate 2-4 thematic group sessions per year for Services staff (reflective practice).

ABOUT YOU

You will have proven experience of:
• Providing clinical supervision to helpline staff and/or their team leaders;
• Transforming experience into learning;
• Working around the issues of suicide & self-harm, mental health crisis and discrimination;
• Working around the issues of child sexual and criminal exploitation and traumatic grief (bereavement by suicide, homicide);
• Implementing safeguarding procedures to safeguard children, young people or adults at risk of harm.

You must also have:
• Qualification in clinical supervision with a minimum of 2 years post qualification practice;
• BACP registration or accreditation (preferred) or UKCP registration;
• and be a qualified Counsellor.
• You must have the legal right to work in the UK. We are unable to provide sponsorship for this position.
• If you work remotely you must have a private and secure place you can work in the UK and internet access.

The role

As Events Fundraiser you will manage and develop myaware’s events portfolio and support in aid of fundraisers. You will also be responsible for managing fundraising volunteers and volunteer fundraising groups. The purpose of the role is to build long-lasting partnerships with supporters and volunteers to achieve maximum events fundraising income for myaware. There will be a requirement to manage records and relationships through the CRM system in line with GDPR.

The Events Fundraiser will be home based within the UK and will work in co-operation with all myaware colleagues to deliver agreed fundraising and awareness campaigns. There may be the need to occasionally work during weekends and evenings and therefore there is a need to work flexibly when required. A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle insured for business use is desirable but not essential.

 Who are we looking for?

The successful candidate will have a minimum of one year experience gained in a fundraising role within a charity, with demonstrable experience of income growth and the ability to meet and exceed income targets via delivery of successful fundraising events. Experience of working with and managing volunteers is essential.

We are a looking for an innovative self-starter to join our small national team of 16 staff. You must be well organised and efficient, with IT skills and experience of using a work-related database or CRM system. Who are we?

Myaware is the only charity in the UK dedicated solely to the care and support of people affected by myasthenia. We are working hard to raise awareness of myasthenia, as it is a little-known condition. We provide support for people with myasthenia and their families, whilst offering advice and tips for living with the condition. 

We also fund the research that brings us closer to finding a cure as well as funding specialists nurses and advisors.

What you will be doing as a Senior Trust Fundraiser:

• You will proactively and strategically develop national and regional funding bids, leading Kids relationships with a varied portfolio of funders.

• You will have an understanding of budgets and feel comfortable fielding questions about charity finances

The Network Lead plays a central role in helping us achieve our vision to end the need for food banks in the UK. This is a varied, proactive and fast-paced role that involves representing the Trussell Trust on policy and public affairs and key stakeholder relationships in South West, the leadership of a dynamic team of area managers that supports the network of food banks in the South West to deliver emergency food, and the coordination of projects and partnerships to support the food banks in our network to reduce the need for their services locally. 

Role responsibilities 

• Strategic Leadership: Manage the delivery of food bank operations in the nation and key strategic projects that are part of the Trussell Trust’s five-year strategy to end the need for food banks.

• Projects and partnerships: Build partnerships and develop projects with organisations to develop and build services and systems that help end the need for food banks.

• Policy, public affairs and church engagement: Engage with a wide range of external bodies, including national government, elected representatives, faith and community organisations, and research bodies. Ensure that local churches (including church leaders) feel connected and understand the importance of ending the need for food banks in local communities. 

• Team Leadership: Provide leadership, support, coaching, development, and line management to the area managers. Provide support, advice and guidance to Trussell Trust project leads as appropriate to ensure they understand the policy and public affairs context for delivering their work in the nation e.g. Pathfinder and Financial Inclusion team 

• Risk Management: Ensure consistent quality assurance of food banks across the nation , in line with the risk framework and support area managers to deal with complaints and manage food banks with high risks. 
   

• Cross-organisational working: Act as a liaison between the area team, the wider operations team, and other directorates, managing the flow of ideas and feedback to positive effect.  

Person Specification 

Technical skills and minimum knowledge: 

• Confidently represent the Trussell Trust with a range of stakeholders, including elected representatives, and effectively manage the roll-out of the organisational strategy in the /nation. 

• Policy and public affairs knowledge, including a track record of successfully influencing politicians and key decision-makers to achieve strategic goals. 

• Knowledge and experience of community development or local service provision.

Reporting directly to the CEO, the post-holder will be a key member of the senior management team, leading the Programme/Project Management team and working with the Finance Manager, Communications Lead, Research Lead, Advisors and other key staff to develop and deliver CPA programmes across the Commonwealth and beyond. This will include strategic planning, project and team management, development of workplans and budgets, provision of leadership, good governance and oversight of all programme-related activities. This role will be responsible for engaging and working with external agencies, subject matter experts, and all relevant stakeholders to ensure the on-budget delivery of high-quality outputs across CPA’s portfolio of programmes. The post holder will also be required to work with other Leads and key staff across the organisation to scope and develop relationships with potential funders and support the creation of funding proposals for future programmes and workstreams, integrating their delivery into the overall programmes portfolio.

Key duties and responsibilities

Leadership and operational planning, management and oversight

• Collaborate with the Board, CEO and key staff to develop and advance the organisational strategic plan and goals and ensure programme areas align with strategic plan.

• Implement the strategic plan, integrating all aspects of the organisation’s work into programmes, including policy, advocacy, communications, product development, research and evaluation.

• Work with the CEO and senior management team, creating, maintaining, and/or overseeing systems and processes to ensure effective management of the daily operations of the programmes team and an organisational structure that supports the organisation’s goals.

Programme planning and management

• Oversee and lead the development and delivery of high-quality programmes, services and resources in line with users’ needs and the wider global health landscape, taking into consideration other relevant internal and external programmes, services and resources already available or under development.

• Lead and direct the appropriate use of programme resources including staffing and finances, ensuring programmes are delivered to budget in accordance to agreed KPIs and outcomes.

• Manage grant life cycles, from request to close. This entails supporting the writing of/reviewing applications, overseeing budgets, reviewing or producing relevant reports, and monitoring impact.

• Deepen existing relationships with donors, agencies, and stakeholders to enhance programme sustainability, engaging with key stakeholders to understand their needs and align programme offerings accordingly.

• Working with other key staff, and in alignment with the strategic priorities of the charity, support the identification and development of new partnerships and funding opportunities to expand the programme portfolio.

Human resources planning and management

• Leading the programmes team, including direct line management responsibility, regular one-to-ones, team meetings, pastoral support and appraisals.

• Determine human resource requirements for the management and delivery of programmes, services and resources; recruit, select and appoint appropriate staff according to need and funding availability.

• Ensure adherence to human resources policies, procedures and practices including the development of job descriptions for all staff.

• Establish and maintain good staff relationships and morale, ensuring a healthy and safe work environment in accordance with all appropriate legislation and regulations.

• Identify and develop systems to support staff development and identify opportunities for staff development where possible.

Cross-team working and collaboration

• Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure that programmes, services and resources are effectively communicated/disseminated and evaluated.

• Use available data and information for evidence-based decision making, to continuously develop and improve programmes, services and resources.

External relationships, strategic partnerships and collaboration

• Advocate for and communicate the organisation’s vision, objectives, core programmes, services and resources to all relevant stakeholders, building strong partnerships that further the organisation’s profile and reputation.

• Attend and report at core organisational meetings, and relevant internal and external conferences and events, raising the profile of the CPA and gathering strategic insights relevant to the organisation’s programmes and wider vision and mission.

We are looking for an experienced institutional funding expert to lead and manage a busy portfolio. This is a role in which the successful candidate will need to juggle multiple and complex projects. Key duties will include:
