The Role

As a Civils Engineer, you will lead the management and maintenance of civil infrastructure across the Royal Parks estate.

With responsibility for a diverse and historic landscape, you will oversee a range of engineering and drainage projects and deliver expert guidance to the Estates and Works Teams while supporting the Facilities Management contract.

Your work will involve a mix of project administration and site-based inspections, including condition surveys, technical reporting, and contractor oversight.

From resurfacing footpaths and improving drainage to managing reservoir compliance, you’ll ensure infrastructure is maintained to the highest safety and quality standards while balancing value and heritage considerations.

Additionally, you will:

• Audit the monthly road and footpath.
• Manage the Annual Reservoir inspections
• Manage bridge and culvert inspections.
• Manage cyclical maintenance programmes
• Oversee civil engineering projects from procurement through to completion
• Prepare annual budgets and manage expenditure reporting
• Advise on cost-effective repair strategies and maintain the asset register

About You

To be considered as a Civils Engineer, you will need:

• Proven design and site management experience in civil engineering
• Knowledge and experience of contract management
• Experience of report writing and the ability to present reports to a high standard
• Experience of establishing and managing recurring maintenance programmes
• Knowledge of road, footpath, drainage, revetment and bridge maintenance

The Role

As a Building Surveyor, you will lead and support the surveying, maintenance, and refurbishment of a wide variety of buildings and structures across our estate.

About SOFT UK

SOFT UK is a national charity supporting families affected by Trisomy 13 (Patau syndrome) and Trisomy 18 (Edwards syndrome). We provide emotional support, information, advocacy, and community connections to ensure no family faces this journey alone.

Purpose of the Role

The Regional Engagement Officer (REO) for Northern Ireland will build and strengthen SOFT UK’s presence in the region. This includes supporting families, developing local community networks, enhancing relationships with healthcare professionals, and coordinating volunteer and fundraising activities to reduce isolation and improve support access for families affected by Trisomy 13 and 18.

Key Responsibilities

About the role
 
This is an exciting opportunity to join a UKCRC-registered Clinical Trials Unit (CTU) that is designing and delivering cutting-edge clinical trials employing frequentist and Bayesian methods in adaptive and platform trial designs. They are looking for a Principal Statistician to provide statistical expertise in Bayesian trial design and analysis to support the delivery of our portfolio of critical care research, including the recently funded PIVOTAL platform trial in paediatric intensive care, and to lead the design of future Bayesian trials. The role will also include the opportunity for involvement in their National Audit Programme, which delivered high-profile analyses reporting on intensive care during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Campaigns and Communications Lead will play a key role in the Campaign for Hope strand of the project, as well as supporting other project strands. You’ll be central in helping us work out how we tell the story of this project to different audiences, and how we bring different voices into the project to help us engage deeply with what that story really is as the project evolves. You’ll be comfortable sitting in community spaces, working alongside local people, and talking to system influencers.

You’ll ensure we have effective and impactful communication across the project, working closely with our expert Communications and Influencing teams. This will include supporting communications across our partnership, as well as external-facing communications. You’ll bring experience of creating impactful communication in different formats for different audiences, and of developing campaigns.

You’ll manage staff (from Year 2) and work with them to build campaigning capacity within local community pilots, and across the professional networks, including making sure that learning is gathered, disseminated and activated across the project. You’ll build connections with influencers, including making sure the project engages with evolving policy in Wales, Scotland and England. You’ll also share your experience and expertise to help develop our wider work at Platfform.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION AND PURPOSE OF THE POST

As part of our ambitious plans to significantly increase private fundraising, we aim to achieve a step-change in our income from partnerships and philanthropy.

As Major Giving Officer, you will:

• Collaborate with the Global Specialist in Major Giving (based in the UK) on the delivery and implementation of an ambitious major-giving programme for HI UK, encompassing trusts & foundations, major donors and corporates, in line with UK and Federation priorities.
• Research and identify opportunities, write proposals and secure five- and six-figure major gifts from a diverse and sustainable base of major givers from the these income streams.
• Provide excellent cultivation of prospects to produce committed, long-term donors.
• Manage existing partnerships and donors to a high standard.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

General

• Work closely with the Global Specialist in Major Giving and the other Major Giving Officer to further develop major giving as a sustainable income stream in the UK, including launching and running a Capital Campaign.
• Manage data relevant to your role, keeping our database (CRM) up to date and accurate, and mining it for new prospects.
• Build your knowledge of the wide range of our work – both thematically and geographically – so you can communicate and present with expertise to donors and prospects.
• Attend relevant networking groups, external events and meetings to make contacts and represent HI UK.
• Assist with the planning and delivery of high-quality cultivation events for prospects and donors.
• Any other activities commensurate with the level of the post, as may be required.

Trusts, foundations and high net-worth individuals

• Update existing research and carry out new research to find our top trust, foundation and high net-worth individual prospects, prioritising six-figure and multi-year donors.
• Connect directly with targeted prospects through networks, introductions and events.
• Build relationships with prospects through personalised communications: face to face, on the phone and written.
• Deliver excellent relationship-management to existing partners and donors to ensure loyalty and year-on-year renewal.
• Produce high-quality and engaging proposals and presentations for meetings with prospects and donors. 
• Write and submit approximately two high-quality proposals per month for five- or six-figure sums (multi-year donations preferable) from targeted trusts and foundations.
• Source information about each project’s impact and write and submit regular reports according to the agreement with each partner organisation or individual.
• Ethically screen our prospects, in line with our ethical standards and processes.
• Liaise with the Federal fundraising team in Lyon for project content.

Other duties

• Maintain a positive and collaborative working relationship with HI UK colleagues, the Federal fundraising and communication teams, and Major Giving counterparts in other HI national associations in Europe and North America.
• Ensure compliance with fundraising regulations and high standards.
• Keep up to date and adhere to any changes in legislation, regulatory procedures, innovation, best practice and industry standards in relation to private fundraising.
• Any other activities commensurate with the level of the post, as may be required by the Global Specialist in Major Giving.

The growing international membership organisation is looking for a Project Accountant to join its existing finance team. Reporting to the Associate Director of Finance, you will ensure that the finance team delivers an effective and timely service.

The Sainsbury Family Charitable Trusts (SFCT) is an umbrella organisation that facilitates the work 16 grant-making trusts, along with its associated charitable companies, established by three generations of the Sainsbury family. 

Each Trust is an independent legal entity with a separate focus and Board of Trustees, and in many cases, led by the family member who established it. The Trust works in many fields, including climate and environment, arts and heritage, disability rights, social inclusion, healthcare, science, education, neuroscience, and international development. 

About the role

The Director of Finance will lead the finance team to ensure the effective support for SFCT’s complex requirements across all aspects of finance, investment management, governance, compliance and risk.

The role will report directly to the CEO, providing financial and operational oversight, as well as high-level strategic engagement with senior stakeholders. This will require you to establish effective working relationships across the office and with family members and Trustees.

The role is part of the Head of Central Services group, working closely with the Head of Finance (Gatsby) to play a key role in decision making and delivering shared ways of working across the group, strengthening cross-functional collaboration and continuous improvement to ensure that support for our Trusts and charitable organisations remains fit for the future.

This is a varied and complex role that covers three main areas of work.

1. Leading a team that is responding to changing needs from internal customers to ensure high performance.
2. Leading projects with a focus on continuous improvement.
3. Proactively supporting family members and trustees in managing investments.

The role’s challenge and variety come from a mix of central and tailored support for the entities that SFCT supports.

Who we are looking for

This role is a fully functional finance role with multiple entities that require support. You will be an experienced Finance Director (and/or perhaps a CFO of an endowment-funded foundation) with the people skills to lead and develop a large finance team, as well as the skills to manage a complex mix of stakeholders.

As a qualified accountant, you will be someone with knowledge and experience in charity finance, who also has a commercial focus and likely has had a stint in industry. Experience in managing a complex finance function and being proactive when it comes to change is essential, as well as the ability to inspire and develop a team to deliver high performance and continuous improvement.

You will enjoy working with people and come with a broad set of experiences. Experience in investments would be an advantage, as would any other additional areas of expertise. This role is a platform for value-added support.
