We are recruiting four part-time Regional Support Officers to work across Wales, providing direct support to eligible community groups and social enterprises through our membership services and programmes, and helping to nurture and connect the network of groups in each area.

We’re looking for enthusiastic and well-connected people who have direct experience of, and a passion for, the social and community business sector in Wales, and who have experience of running, developing and/or supporting community groups and enterprises. We need dynamic communicators, and people who can build relationships between groups and with key partners.

The Role

The service aims to identify and address the needs of stroke survivors and carers whose lives are affected by aphasia, by providing a range of innovative support solutions, supporting them to meet their desired outcomes. A key part of the role will be to support service users and the delivery of the service.

Reporting to the Stroke Service Delivery Coach, the Stroke Support Coordinator will:

• Supporting new stroke survivors and their carers from hospital discharge into the community.
• Provide personalised information, advice and support.
• Enable stroke survivors to make informed lifestyle changes, which will help them to prevent further strokes.
• Work with other health and social care professionals across the stroke pathway to ensure high quality support.

The Degrees Initiative is a UK-based NGO that builds the capacity of developing countries to evaluate solar radiation modification (SRM), a controversial proposal for reducing some impacts of climate change by reflecting sunlight away from the Earth. The Humane League UK is seeking a creative, proactive, and strategically-minded individual with the drive to end the abuse of animals raised for food.

As Social Media Coordinator, you will live and breathe all things social media, understanding its potential contribution to achieving our mission.

You'll lead all activities across our Facebook, X, Instagram, Threads, YouTube, and LinkedIn, as well as keeping an eye out for opportunities elsewhere on social media. With strong working knowledge across social channels, you’ll implement a digital strategy focused on reaching, engaging, and converting our audiences to take action for animals.

Who you are:

You are passionate about The Humane League’s mission of ending the abuse of animals raised for food. With an attention to detail and strong written and verbal communications skills in English, you’ll have a keen eye for persuasive and punchy copy and an ability to adapt your tone of voice.

You’ll be able to prioritise and manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment, ensuring that you meet deadlines and communicate internally.

You’ll have experience of digging into the data, using analytics to assess results, gain learnings, and action those learnings to improve channel performance. You understand what audiences want to see from different channels, and how to get cut through and reach attention on each one.

You are a whizz with editing tools and can create compelling, dynamic video and static content that hooks people in and keeps them watching.

You’ll be comfortable reacting to opportunities nimbly and being proactive in looking for stories to tell about our work, seeing every interaction as an opportunity. 

You’ll be willing to be the face of the organisation on social media, ensuring that you have a good working knowledge of our issues and campaigns in order to motivate support for them.

You will have a supporter-centric approach to communications, responding to comments and messages from a place of care and empathy.

While working with autonomy is an important part of your role, strong collaboration and communication skills are paramount to your success.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Ownership of our social media channels; regularly testing, creating, and posting content that is tailored to each platform, using each channel’s features to maximise impact towards our goals.

• Planning and building social media campaigns that strategically integrate goals and consider metrics.

• Updating the communications calendar.

• Create inspiring concepts and develop these into compelling, on-brand, platform-specific content using tools like Canva and Adobe Express.

• Social media community management including moderating and responding to comments and messages to ensure people feel valued, engaged, and we are building strong relationships with supporters and potential supporters.

• Regularly monitoring social trends to create topical content.

• Using tools such as Google Analytics, Facebook insights, and Sprout Social to report on post and channel performance, monitoring and evaluating success against goals on a monthly basis.

• Contribute to or initiate the development and improvement of processes that improve delivery and collaboration.

• Keep up to date with new features and tech related to social media platforms, as well as other organisations’ activity, to ensure the most engaging and effective content.

• Encourage and assist staff members in producing social media content, supporting them with creative and technical guidance and giving feedback.

• Contribute to other communications activities such as website and PR content, as necessary.

• Attend events, protests and actions as necessary, developing on-the-ground content plans that effectively showcase our actions and further our goals.

Essential Skills and Experience:

• Strong working knowledge across multiple key social media platforms, particularly Instagram and Facebook – this could be through professional experience or demonstrable extensive personal use.

• Experience in planning, creating, and scheduling social media content ahead of time, as well as reactive content.

• An understanding of how different audiences engage with content across various platforms, and what they want to see from each.

• Confident using the features and tools of each channel to optimise reach and engagement.

• Experience using data and analytics to assess social media performance, extract insights, and apply learnings to improve results.

Hours:

As an organisation we work a four day work week. This is a full time position of 30 hours per week over Monday to Thursday.

JOB PURPOSE

To improve the provision of consistent high-quality debt advice, enhancing the experience of clients, by working collaboratively with delivery suppliers, to support them in implementing improvement activities, and in assessing and monitoring the quality of debt advice.

To support the implementation and ongoing facilitation of project quality assurance and improvement processes, working collaboratively with the EMMA management team to inform and support contract compliance and performance management activities.

To identify good practice and share learning with delivery suppliers, and across roles within MaPS and across all funded services to support improvement and development of advice services.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Deliver individual strategic projects/business plan objectives for the team

Work with debt advice providers on an individual basis to improve the provision of consistent and high-quality debt advice, by supporting suppliers to implement improvement activities, and to assess and monitor the performance of their advisers and debt advice service overall to ensure that the quality of debt advice is improved where required, maintained and provided in accordance with regulation, project requirements, best practice, and agreed standards.  This includes:

• Working in collaboration with suppliers to make tailored recommendations and providing feedback to improve the quality of debt advice and client experience in a delivery supplier as appropriate, and identify good practice, where applicable

• Measuring and analysing information gathered against risk ratings, quality frameworks and standards and liaising with delivery suppliers to agree improvement action plans using the results of assessments and analysis

• Liaising with delivery suppliers about the practical arrangements required to carry out the monitoring of their work and improvement plans and ensure understanding of the service improvement process

• Supporting, where appropriate, the implementation of any follow on/corrective action following the assessment and /or support visits/file reviews.

Support participants internal and external quality assurance, quality related grant requirements and quality improvement schemes by:

• Ensuring delivery partners and advisers understand the objectives of the service and quality requirements.

• Facilitating the smooth application of the quality improvement process as required by LCALC and/ or the funder including writing guidance documents, regular liaison with the delivery suppliers and answering ad hoc queries.

Project compliance and quality requirements are achieved by:

• Ensuring delivery suppliers have a good awareness and understanding of the quality and service delivery requirements through communications and active involvement in the delivery of EMMA events related to quality improvement.

• Providing support and advice to delivery suppliers and other internal colleagues on the quality requirements and service delivery standards.

• Providing support with delivery and quality compliance and performance management activities, including active involvement in performance enhancement plans as appropriate.
