Job Purpose

To develop and manage one of the Big C Charity retail units, under the direction of the Retail Operations Manager and the Assistant Retail Operations Manager.

Managing the day to day running of the shop, maximising retail sales and profit while delivering a high quality of customer service through effective leadership of staff and volunteers and management of resources and budgets.

Main Duties

The Young People’s Volunteer Coordinator is an exciting new post at Barnsley CVS funded through Great Childhood Ambitions (GCA). The five strategic priorities for GCA are: Belong / Explore / Dream / Grow / Connect.

The under Youth Volunteer Programme will support these priorities by working with young people to:

· belong in their communities,

· explore volunteer opportunities,

· dream about their futures and be work ready,

· grow in confidence and experience to support their wellbeing,

Your role will be key to enabling this to happen.  You will act as the key connector between young people and charities.  This will involve working with opportunities that already exist, as well as encouraging, mentoring and training charities to provide tailored volunteering for young people.  You will also provide 1-1 support to young people already actively looking together with reaching out to communities such as children in care, UASC’s, those with SEND needs and communities who may not naturally consider volunteering.  Volunteering gives young people a chance to learn new skills, enhance their CV, learn about the workplace, meet new people, improve their confidence and expand their horizon. Some young people may naturally consider this, whereas others, may not have this opportunity presented to them. This role is intended to address some of the barriers and support young people into fulfilling volunteer roles.  You will be a champion in Barnsley for raising the profile of young volunteering and the value it brings to our communities.

Campaigns and Communications Manager (Job share) 

2 days a week, 14 hours a week

IKWRO –Women’s Rights Organisation (IKWRO) is an award-winning charity founded (as the Iranian and Kurdish Women’s Rights Organisation) in 2002. As testament to its’ success and in response to huge need, IKWRO has expanded and now provides unique and vital support for women and girls from all Middle Eastern, North African and Afghan (MENA) communities who are at risk of “honour” based violence, child marriage, forced marriage, female genital mutilation, domestic violence, sexual violence and other forms of gender violence.  

IKWRO provides direct services including advocacy and professional counselling. IKWRO opened the UK’s first specialist Middle Eastern women’s refuge. IKWRO is regularly called upon to share expertise with government, academics, and media and to train professionals from bodies such as the police, social services and schools.  

IKWRO has led the recognition of “honour” based abuse and “honour” killing as forms of violence against women and girls. Campaign successes include; the first extradition from Kurdistan-Iraq to the UK of perpetrators of “honour” killing of Banaz Mahmod, the UK’s criminalisation of forced marriage, child marriage, virginity testing and hymenoplasty, as well as the first ever national inspection of policing of “honour” based violence. 

This is an exciting time to join IKWRO with the opportunity to help shape and implement the organisations’ new campaigns and communications strategies.  

The Campaign and Communications Manager will work under the direction of the Executive Director of IKWRO and will be responsible for drafting and implementing IKWRO’s new campaign and communications strategy to achieve positive systemic legal and policy change, informed by the experiences of the women and girls that IKWRO represents. The role involves lobbying, research, media and communications, networking, events management, engaging with the wider team and the women and girls IKWRO represents to ensure their voices are heard and maintaining and strengthening IKWRO’s leadership in the field. As a Future Frontiers Partnerships Manager, your role is to identify, develop and maintain mutually beneficial partnerships with organisations which work with us to enable our mission. This is key to delivering our work and making a lasting difference for young people from under-resourced backgrounds on their education and career journeys. 

The focus of the role is on building meaningful, long-term relationships with schools and/or businesses, to match young people from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds with business professionals who can provide insight into the world of work and guidance to help young people unlock their aspirations and develop the plans and skills they need to be successful. 

Our Partnerships Managers each have a focus on a priority audience, either schools or businesses, and on an activity area, either new business development or account management. The role we are currently recruiting for will have a main focus on driving new business from companies. 

Your responsibilities

The focus of each role could expand or change depending on the needs of the organisation. Current priorities and targets are reflected in each individual’s objectives for the year - these are regularly reviewed to ensure that they remain relevant and create ownership and stretch for each individual.

• Identify potential partners for Future Frontiers, focussing on organisations where there is synergy with Future Frontiers and/or where we can address a clear need for them

• Engage with potential partners through the most suitable channel (email, LinkedIn, phone/video call or in person) to understand their priorities and identify how Future Frontiers can meet their needs

• Deliver targeted campaigns and pitches of the most appropriate product(s) / way(s) to engage; handle objections and negotiate terms to help Future Frontiers to achieve income and impact targets and support more young people to achieve their potential 

Maintain relationships; renew and grow partnerships

• Nurture relationships with existing partners, working with colleagues across Future Frontiers to ensure smooth delivery and an exceptional partner experience

• Explore opportunities to grow partnerships through working together in different ways and/or extending involvement to more pupils or colleagues

• Regularly request feedback and respond to suggestions from partners, helping them to feed involved and engaged with Future Frontiers’ work and development 

• Maintain professional and timely communications with partners, following up on actions and delivering on commitments

Set up and enable successful partnership working

• Work with key contacts to agree objectives, responsibilities and deadlines. Maintain accurate records of partnership activities and conversation, ensuring that the Salesforce database is kept up to date

• Support partners with messaging and resources for internal and external communications, to enable them to build Future Frontiers into their organisations 

• Coordinate with Future Frontiers colleagues to ensure that activities involving partners are well-run and that everyone is clear on their role in delivering successful interventions for young people

• Use templates to create materials and communications to your audiences which align with Future Frontiers’ brand and convery core messaging 

• Ensure that the partners you manage are engaged with relevant stakeholder communications, including events, newsletters and social media

• Proactively identify suitable content (or opportunities to develop content) from your partners to share in Future Frontiers’ marketing and communications, enabling us to build the charity’s brand and engage new audiences 

Wider contribution

• Contribute to department-, directorate- and organisation-wide projects and priorities through membership of project groups or taking on pieces of work in line with your skills, experience and development objectives

• Act as an ambassador for Future Frontiers, our cause and values in all engagements and communications with partners, supporters and suppliers

About you

Experience and knowledge  

• Experience in a fundraising, sales or account management role, ideally working with businesses and/or schools (essential)

• Demonstrable success in hitting and exceeding targets in a fast-paced environment (essential)

• Experience of working in a team, taking ownership of areas of work and contributing to shared successes (essential)

• Experience implementing a range of marketing techniques, including digital and email marketing (desirable)

This is a great opportunity to join the unique RCJ Advice - Citizens Advice & Law Centre. We have two court-based offices, at the Royal Courts of Justice on the Strand, and at the Central Family Court on High Holborn, although we mainly now provide advice by telephone and can therefore support people who are accessing any court in England and Wales.

Title: Senior Finance Consultant 

Location: Nampula, Mozambique 

Length of contract: 12 months, with a possible extension to 18 months 

About the role 

Sightsavers’ Mozambique country office (MCO) oversees the implementation of Sightsavers’ programmes in Mozambique that focus on eye health (cataracts and refractive error), Neglected Tropical Diseases (trachoma and onchocerciasis) and social inclusion (economic empowerment), with the finance function overseeing a vast portfolio of activities covering the various aspects of finance and administration. At this moment, the role of Finance & Support Services Manager (FSSM) is currently vacant in Mozambique at a time where the total programme portfolio is at a significant level. 

Given this vacancy at management level, combined with significant levels of programme funding planned in Mozambique for the foreseeable future, this is a great opportunity for the organisation to understand the current gaps and needs for the country office finance and support services (FSS) function going forward. 

As the Senior Finance Consultant, you will provide expert advice on the steps and resources required to transform the FSS function, within the next 12 to 18 months and lead on the implementation the agreed transformation roadmap. 

Further responsibilities include: 

Finance & Support Services transformation 

• Working with a steering group of global and regional senior finance and operations staff to define clear objectives for the transformation of the FSS function in Mozambique. 

• Review all relevant reports and documents and consult with key stakeholders to complete a situation analysis for the MCO FSS function (current strengths, weaknesses, gaps, requirements over the next 3 years, etc.). 

• Work with the MCO management team to develop a 12-month transformation roadmap for approval by the steering group. 

• Lead the implementation of the roadmap and be accountable for completion of agreed milestones. 

• Provide regular reports on progress with implementation of the roadmap to the steering group. 

Interim Finance & Support Services Manager (FSSM) for the country office 

The Senior Finance Consultant will act as an interim FSSM for the country office, and these duties involve: 

Financial Management 

• Ensure financial control and managing risk. 

• Ensure the conformity to the Sightsavers Global Financial Framework. 

• Ensure compliance to all applicable global and local regulations, as well as governance requirements. 

Administration and Support Services 

• Lead in facilitating the implementation of administrative organisational policies and procedures. 

• Manage logistics, supplies, and purchases as per Sightsavers’ procurement policy. 

• Ensure IT Equipment and connectivity for MCO runs in line with IT policies. 

• Support and line manage administrative staff. 

Project and Programme Management 

• Provide effective support to MCO programme teams 

• Support, administer and strengthen financial management, accountability, and capacities of partners. 

• Ensure proper financial monitoring of projects including audit of funds provided. 

• Oversee financial monitoring of partners at all levels. 

Human Resource Management 

• Support the OP&F Senior Human Resources Business Partner in implementing relevant HR policies and procedures at MCO level. 

• Manage and facilitate staff development plans for MCO. 

Skills and Experience 

As the ideal candidate you will hold a degree in finance, accounting, or a related field. You will also possess a professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, CFA), have extensive experience in financial and operational management, and have experience working for an INGO/NGO in a Finance role. 

Further requirements include: 

• Experience in a management/senior management role. 

• Proven experience in managing staff in a Finance environment. 

• Experience in financial, fund management and donor compliance aspects of programme implementation. 

• Demonstrated stakeholder and change management abilities. 

• Bilingual (lusophone/English).
