As our Shop Volunteer, you’re at the heart of making sure our customers have a positive shopping experience. There’s lots of ways of getting involved: making our window displays look great, welcoming customers, helping them with purchases, collecting donations, preparing items for sale, using our till systems to handle payments and, as part of a team, generally helping with the day-to-day running of the shop. In this varied role, you’ll develop your organisation, team working and customer service skills.

 Most importantly you’ll be helping raise funds to support people to live well with MS. What the role involves This role may vary depending on needs and is likely to include:  Welcoming customers and assisting them with purchases

  Receiving and processing money when goods are sold

  Pricing and sorting donations and other goods for sale in line with stock control processes 

 Helping with visual merchandising for our shop windows 

 Supporting housekeeping, such as stock management and tidying We will support you in developing the skills you need for this role, including an induction into all the areas outlined.

Our shops raise funds to support our pet 48 hospitals and increase awareness of the work we do to get the nation PetWise.

Oxfam's Oldham Shop is looking for Volunteers to help Oxfam’s fight to support the world’s most vulnerable communities.

We’re looking for volunteers who can give 4 hours of their time in the shop, and we’re excited to welcome brand new volunteers as we look to re-open our store!

We want to be is the brand that helps people no matter where they are in their journey, and we do it in many different ways!

• Ethical products that are conversation starters and statement makers
• We sell (and recommend) over 300 books! whatever you are curious about it we probably have a book about it!
• Virginia has written 2 children's books (one about gender stereotypes and one about consent) and a parenting book.
• Training, consulting, public speaking… something bespoke for your organisation (school, business, community…)

We couldn't be here without some help! The shop is not profitable yet but we still donate a % of the revenue and care deeply about creating something we are proud of. We want to be able to have a team one day and grow the project but at the moment we need to scale and get there. Feminist Book Designer

Volunteer Role Description (remote, unpaid)

Looking for a volunteer (or possibility to create a small group) to design:

• The cover of a book with the feminist essays I write in my substack.
• The layout (including internal illustrations) to make it a nicer gift, more special and creative.
