To lead an ambitious and dynamic fundraising team of twelve. to drive increased
fundraising performance across a range of income streams. The post holder will lead
the development and delivery of an ambitious and data driven fundraising strategy
to successfully deliver Weston Park Cancer Charity’s vision.
Leadership
• Champion fundraising across the organisation.
• Be an inspiring ambassador for Weston Park Cancer Charity and ensure this
is reflected in the strategies, outputs, and behaviour of the fundraising team.
• Actively contribute to leading Weston Park Cancer Charity as a member of
the Leadership Team.
• Work closely with the Leadership Team to ensure that appropriate processes
and systems are in place across the organisation, including delivery against
KPIs.
• Attend and actively participate in relevant Board Committee meetings
providing updates, necessary reports, and feedback on the charity’s
fundraising.
• Lead cross-organisational projects in line with organisational strategy and
direction.
• Build strong working relationships with colleagues across the organisation at
all levels, adopting and encouraging a collaborative working approach.
• Keep abreast of, understand, clarify, and implement new or changes in
relevant thinking and legislation, especially those directly affecting
fundraising.
Monitor and manage risk in accordance with the charity’s risk management
policy.
Fundraising
• Lead the development and delivery of an ambitious and data driven
fundraising strategy across a range of income streams to successfully deliver
the charity’s vision.
• Build and inspire a high-performing and results-oriented Fundraising Team
focused on delivering sustainable income to maintain and build on recent
organisational growth.
Ensure that fundraising is supported by appropriate business/activity plans,
and sound financial plans and budgets; and that performance is regularly
monitored and evaluated against plans and budgets.
• Set, monitor, and deliver annual income and expenditure targets in line with
our ambitious plan to grow income.
• Foster a culture of ambition and innovation and support the team to
research, develop, and implement new fundraising approaches to recruit
new donor groups across all income streams.
• Drive change and implement new ways of working across fundraising and
the wider organisation in support of fundraising effectiveness.
• Manage relationships with key supporters and stakeholders and attend
meetings and networking events to unlock new opportunities.
• Strengthen and build on existing supporter relationships, ensuring that all
supporters receive a first-class experience.
• Support the team to develop professional and engaging fundraising
materials including fundraising propositions, applications, proposals, appeals,
pitches, and reports.
• Take overall responsibility for fundraising compliance and ensure that in all
relevant areas, the charity complies with the law, regulation, and stakeholder
and contractual obligations with third parties.
• Collaborate with the Data Manager to maintain oversight of the supporter
database to ensure integrity, legal compliance, and generation of appropriate
insight to support delivery of income growth.
Fundraising Development
• Support the Deputy CEO’s leadership of the charity’s multi-year major
fundraising appeal.
• Work with the Legacy and In Memory Fundraising Manger to deliver and
implement a legacy pipeline and growth in In-Memory giving income.
• Work with the Individual Giving Fundraising Manager to deliver and
implement a strategy which prioritises both the retention and acquisition of
new donors, enhances the use of digital products, platforms, and channels
and delivers the highest standard of supporter care and donor stewardship.
• Lead the fundraising team to focus on deepening and strengthening existing
relationships and building a strong pipeline of new prospects to deliver multiyear
funding from major donors, high profile supporters, trusts, foundations,
and companies.
• Champion the adoption and use of Raisers Edge NXT CRM to effectively
support data-driven decision making and relationship management to
generate supporter insights in support of increased fundraising.
Brand and Marketing
• Working in collaboration with the Deputy CEO, Marketing Manager and
external agencies in the development and delivery of an integrated
marketing and communications strategy that is driven by audience insight.
• Foster a strong working relationship between the fundraising and marketing
team to inspire high-performance and results-oriented marketing.
• Build a community of supporters by delivering a seamless supporter journey
that promotes the charity’s work and delivers greater income generation.
• Empower the fundraising team to successfully deploy our brand.
• Work in partnership with the Marketing Manager to ensure content is up to
date, factually accurate and to manage reputational risk.
People Management
• Create a high-performing team that is ambitious and passionate about
Weston Park Cancer Charity’s vision.
• Provide line management to direct reports, setting, and monitoring
individual performance objectives and motivating the team to be innovative
and professional in its thinking and delivery.
• Ensure all fundraising staff receive consistent and motivating direction and
feedback to enable them to work to the best of their ability.

About the role:
The Diversion programme began as a two-year pilot programme launched in July 2019 and funded by MOPAC (Mayor’s Office for Policing & Crime). The aim was to drive multi-agency working between the police, Voluntary Community Sector (VCS) service providers and other statutory partners and was part of a wider programme of work to develop a whole system approach to identifying and addressing the needs of women involved in the criminal justice system in London. The Diversion programme integrates a short-term, holistic package of support for women with an out of court disposal, to improve outcomes for the woman and offer Police officers a robust alternative pathway other than prosecution.
We have recently been awarded funding from Portsmouth City Council to deliver a 12-month pilot of the Diversion Programme in Portsmouth, to support those women of the PO1-PO6 area postcodes, who encounter the Police and as a result are then to be referred to the Diversion service rather than be prosecuted.
The successful post holder is required to pass Police Vetting
About You:
To be successful as Diversion Keyworker you will have an in-depth knowledge of issues facing women offenders and those at risk of offending; both in and out of the criminal justice system and the ability to see how violence against women and girls interlinks to women in the criminal justice system.
In short, you will have: -
You will bring proven practice of working with women experiencing issues related to offending (e.g. homelessness, substance misuse, domestic abuse, mental health or other relevant work area) preferably within criminal justice setting. You will be able to demonstrate your experience of conducting needs and risk assessments and of risk management crisis management skills and an ability to cope in stressful situations. You will show forth your ability to manage a caseload and a top-quality skill set with prioritising and organising your own workload.
You will be a self-serving uniquely able to undertake working independently and at times be managed remotely. That said, you will have a proven record of collaborative and working partnership with relevant statutory and voluntary groups, demonstrating the ability to develop and maintain strong constructive working relationships.

What the job involves
We have an opportunity for a Senior Strategic Communications (Campaigns) Officer to join our Strategic Communications, Campaigns and Brand team. You’ll work closely with the Strategic Communications (Campaigns) Manager to successfully plan and deliver major strategic campaigns and key brand moments, taking the lead on day-to-day project management to keep everything coordinated and running smoothly.
As a Senior Strategic Communications (Campaigns) Officer you’ll take responsibility for developing content for allocated big-ticket campaigns and brand moments, ensuring all content is consistent with our brand and tone of voice. Collaboration is a big part of this role. Working closely with colleagues across the organisation, you’ll help shape high-impact content marketing strategies and integrate key messages across the organisation. You’ll also support the development of creative content for key partnerships and campaigns, ensuring content aligns with our brand and campaign objectives.

We’re looking for someone who’s experienced in supporting strategy and delivering major campaigns and brand moments that make a real difference and help us connect with new audiences. We're now seeking an exceptional Policy and Public Affairs Manager to lead our efforts in Northern Ireland. This is a unique opportunity to work on the front line of policy change, collaborating with the NI Assembly, Government officials, healthcare stakeholders and partners to ensure end of life care is equitable, compassionate, and prioritised in public discourse. This is a strategic, hands-on role suited to someone with deep knowledge of Northern Ireland's political landscape and a commitment to social justice.
You will lead external engagement and political influencing activity across Northern Ireland, delivering campaigns and initiatives to challenge inequalities in end of life experience. From producing high-impact briefings and consultation responses to building trusted relationships with MLAs and Government departments, your work will shape how decision-makers respond to the needs of dying people and their families. You'll support research-informed policy development, represent Marie Curie at external events, and help grow our presence across political and public platforms.
Main responsibilities:
- Influence health, social care and end of life policy by engaging directly with the NI Assembly, political parties, and Government officials.
- Manage stakeholder engagement strategies and maintain strong relationships with MLAs, advisors and sector partners.
- Deliver evidence-based campaigns, including the production of speeches, blogs, reports, and social media content.
- Organise external events and represent Marie Curie at conferences, coalitions, and media opportunities.
- Write clear, compelling consultation responses and policy materials rooted in research and lived experience.
- Monitor political developments and identify opportunities to influence emerging debates.
- Work closely with our Policy & Research and Media teams, ensuring policy positions are aligned across all UK nations.
- Deputise for the Associate Director and Senior Policy Manager when required.
Key Criteria:
- Strong experience in policy and public affairs, preferably in health, social care, or the voluntary sector.
- Proven ability to build influence with politicians, advisors, and senior stakeholders.
- Understanding of methods to interact with political entities. Proficient in utilizing social media for engagement purposes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to draft briefings and present at public events.
- Deep understanding of Northern Ireland's political institutions, policy processes, and health and social care systems.
- Organisational and strategic thinking skills to manage multiple priorities and respond quickly to emerging issues.

The role
As a counsellor you will deliver funded time-limited counselling (up to 15 sessions) to people presenting with a range of issues, particularly domestic abuse. The counselling will be online (telephone and Teams) and face-to-face in various settings across Nottinghamshire.
About you
Are you an independent, self-motivated counsellor who is experienced in working with people affected by domestic abuse?
You’ve ideally worked directly with a diverse client group in a therapeutic setting and have experience managing safeguarding issues. You will have experience in a range of issues such as domestic abuse, alcohol & drug recovery, mental health issues such as depression & anxiety, trauma, issues relating to identity.

We’re now looking for a strategic, relationship-driven fundraiser to join our senior team and shape a new phase of growth. As our first Head of Fundraising, you’ll play a vital role in transforming strong but reactive income streams into a thriving, sustainable programme that enables us to support more people, more effectively.

Role and Responsibilities
Housing and Service Delivery
• Provide strong and effective support to residents in Acorn House that focuses on their strengths and goals, and is delivered in a personalised way and within a framework of active engagement and co-production
• Developing and reviewing support plans that reflect the interests and aspirations of residents
• Induct new residents in line with the service’s policies and procedures and support them to continue in their journey towards recovery from addiction
• Carry out assessments of those referred to Acorn House, and induct new residents
• Ensure the fundamental needs of residents are met including good quality accommodation and facilities, healthy food, advice and guidance around benefits, and alcohol and drug testing (to help maintain an abstinent environment)
• Deal with the immediate support needs of residents as appropriate, providing crisis intervention where necessary
• Support residents in addressing physical and mental health issues, including liaison with primary and secondary health teams
• Ensure residents are supported through court or welfare rulings (if necessary)
• Ensure effective and compliant administration of resident data using a bespoke Salesforce- based platform (In-Form)
• Ensure Housing Benefit and Services Charges are collected and managed effectively

The Advocacy and Campaigns Manager will play a crucial role in shaping and delivering Put Children First, the advocacy and campaigning initiative of Alder Hey Children’s Charity.
