We are looking for a Social Media Specialist who can strategically identify, and post, engaging content for our social media feeds, which will inspire people to support our work with refugees and asylum seekers in Epirus.
In your role, you will interact with our Instagram and Facebook communities to increase engagement, followers and the quality of their experience. You will also identify key influencers and conversations where we can engage to better showcase our work and expand our reach. You are the person who thinks “this would make a good post” while activities are taking place. More than that, your interest and belief in social media as a force for good should be backed with an interest in data and analytics, using them to influence our social media communication strategy.

Your responsibilities:
- Regularly post and schedule content on Second Tree’s social media feeds.
- Work with the wider Second Tree team to ensure that all content on our social media feeds aligns with organisational, and specific project strategies.
- Work with Second Tree team to moderate and respond to comments and interact with followers to best develop our online communities.
- Produce regular reports on social media performance.
- Use Google Analytics (or similar) to produce reports on referrals to the Second Tree website and conversions attributable to social content.
- Advise colleagues and help them to develop content strategies based on previous reports and insights
- Develop social media strategies to expand our reach and impact through social media channels
- Identify key social influencers who we can engage with
- Maintain a strong knowledge of developments, innovations, and new tech in social media and identify any that may be of benefit/interest to Second Tree
What We Offer:

We have two volunteer houses that can host up to nine people where long-term volunteers are accommodated. Some volunteers choose to rent their own accommodation. In certain periods of the year, demand is extremely high, and the volunteer houses might be full. If you have the means to pay for your own accommodation, please let us know. We would still be happy to host you if space is available. However, in a situation where the volunteer houses are full, this would allow us to offer a volunteering opportunity to someone that cannot afford to pay rent.
The successful candidate will be encouraged to join us on the ground and immerse themselves in our work. Your participation could take on many forms, from support in the education programs to activities in the kindergarten to the delivery of workshops and expeditions with the Youth Scouts – we look forward to hearing your ideas on how best to apply your skills in this context. By coming here, you would gain a first-hand experience of the situation on the ground, working in a grassroots organization with a small but dedicated team. This immersion will give you a solid sense of our work, our mission and our approach – which would facilitate your ability to attract supporters.

We are seeking Social Media Volunteers to assist our Social Media Marketing Team in creating and distributing engaging content on Hidayah’s social media platforms. Social media is integral to connecting with the Hidayah community, growing our organisational reach and promoting events such as our Queer Book Club, in-house research and educational resources for Ramadan.
We also use our social media platforms to post adverts for volunteers, promote Hidayah’s membership, respond to world news via solidarity statements and signpost LGBTQI+ Muslims to a range of national and international support.
You do not need to be LGBTQI+ or Muslim to be able to carry out this role. However, it is important to have a broad knowledge and understanding of these areas to be able to genuinely engage with the specific audience that follows Hidayah’s social media platforms.
What are the key responsibilities of this role?
Our Social Media Volunteers have a range of responsibilities, including but not limited to:
- Creating and editing content to distribute across Hidayah’s social media platforms e.g. TikTok and Instagram
- Communicating with other volunteers and the Social Media Marketing Trustee on feedback, suggestions and issues
- Carrying out independent research to obtain quality content and sharing relevant information on Hidayah’s platforms
- Actively engage with people following us on social media
- Promoting events and projects as and when appropriate
- Administration; monitoring inboxes, responding to messages and comments, signposting to the relevant emails, archiving out of date posts

How much commitment is required?

Why am I needed?
Community is at the heart of everything that we do at Tenovus Cancer Care to help those affected by cancer. Our aim is simple – to deliver a vision where fewer people get cancer and those that do receive equal access to excellent treatment. However, we can’t do this without your help. Our shops in local communities are crucial to us raising vital funds. So, we’d like you to volunteer your time and commitment to help us make a difference. We need you to help sort, value and display our vinyl and media donations in our shops to help turn them into cash.
What will I be doing?
Sorting through our media (CD/DVDs/Vinyl) donations and pricing them ready for sale
Researching interesting vinyl online on sites such as Discogs, eBay and Amazon to value them for sale in the shop
Displaying the media on the shop floor ensuring stock is rotated regularly to increase sales
Enlisting help from local auction houses when needed
Speaking with customers, making them welcome and answering queries
Promoting awareness of the charity and the services that we provide.
What skills do I need?
It’d be great if you have some knowledge of or interest in vinyl/media and know what to look out for when valuing.
A really keen eye for detail and ability to cross reference items across a number of websites to provide the most realistic valuation
Ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team
Ability to communicate effectively with other members of the team and customers.
Ability to use computer for research
You may need to handle bags and donations from the public and there may be stairs to climb depending on which shop you are based in. If you have any concerns about this, please speak with the Shop Manager when expressing your interest in volunteering.
How much time do I need to commit?
We’d need you to give around three hours per week if you can with the possibility to do more if you’d like to. However, we appreciate any time you’d like to give; please let us know this on your application form
What support will I be given?
Before starting with Tenovus Cancer Care, we ask that you do try a small number of hours in the shop so we can both see how the role may suit you. The amount of hours can be decided between you and the Shop Manager.
Following that the Shop Manager and team will be on hand to run you through the basics of helping in a shop in your first few days and they’ll always be on hand after that.

Role: Research Assistant (Volunteer, unpaid)
Supported by: Business Development Consultant, Resource and Training Lead, Charity Director
About White Ribbon Alliance UK: We prioritise the eradication of gender-based violence and the promotion of gender equity in sexual and reproductive health and rights, especially for marginalised and underrepresented communities. We enable access to unbiased and evidenced-based resources, education, and support for women, girls, and trans individuals. We influence healthcare professionals, hospital systems, policy makers, and the public to centre the human rights of women, girls and trans men, intersex, and non-binary people throughout the lifecycle of their sexual health needs.
Purpose of the Role: The Volunteer Research Assistant will support White Ribbon Alliance UK's efforts to improve maternal and reproductive health by conducting research, analysing data, and contributing to reports and publications. This role is crucial for informing our advocacy and program development.
Our aspirations for activities the volunteer would perform:

Assist in designing and implementing research projects, including survey design.

Perform desk research, literature reviews, data collection, and analysis.

Contribute to research reports, briefs, and presentations.

Manage administrative tasks to support research projects.

Contribute to the development of research reports, briefs, and presentations.

Utilise SharePoint and Microsoft Teams for collaboration and document management.

Support the dissemination of research findings through various channels including but not limited to social media, websites, and blogs.
Ideal skills and qualifications:

Interest in sexual and reproductive health.

Strong understanding of, and passion for intersectional feminism.

Effective communication and collaboration skills.

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Strong analytical, research, and organizational skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, or similar platforms.

Current enrolment in, or completion of, a relevant university degree program (e.g., public health, mental health, social sciences, midwifery, nursing, social justice, sexual reproductive health, human rights, etc.)

Look no further than IHF's Global Leadership Development (GLD) program, available at our
Jakarta, Bali, and Medan centers (Yayasan). The best part? While foreign legacy students pay for
this service, Indonesian citizens receive FREE training along with a small stipend and room and
board.
Overview
IHF, an award-winning International Non-profit established in 2001, is on a mission to (1)
educate impoverished children, igniting their highest potential and fostering loving, healthy
communities, and (2) enlighten global citizens through hands-on experiences, both online and in
person. We provide a platform for learning and practicing leadership skills, welcoming
participants from kindergarten to retirement age.
Join our IHF Indonesia Center for the Global Leadership Development (GLD) program and
make a genuine impact during your stay as a volunteer.
The Role
As a GLD participant, you'll engage in four hours of local on-site tasks in addition to four hours
per day as a member of various International Online Teams. Your local tasks may include, but
are not limited to:
● Providing hands-on support for the center's daily operations
● Engaging in cultural exchange, teaching classes, and organizing fun activities for our
children, teens, and university students
● Enhancing our children's education by participating in our online mentor and
Study-Buddy programs
● Taking charge of the management, design, and execution of community-led projects
aligned with your academic or professional expertiseOverseeing local and international volunteers, shaping their experience at our Indonesian
IHF Centers.
Your international online tasks may include, but are not limited to:
● Budgeting and finance
● Donor relations and sponsorships
● Social media campaigns and fundraising
● Social Media & Website development
● Human Resources
Essential Requirements
We welcome volunteers who:
Have confidence in using basic English language (both spoken and written)
Possess a passion for international development, with a strong focus on universal education
Share career development goals aligned with IHF's mission
Eligibility
The program calls for a college diploma or university degree and a minimum commitment of
four months, although we encourage volunteers to stay for up to one year. All volunteers enjoy
one day off per week and a four-day holiday per month.

Social Anxiety Alliance UK aim to provide information and resources for individuals suffering from social anxiety and social phobia.
This is an exciting opportunity to help shape and develop the UK’s first dedicated Social Anxiety charity.
We are ideally looking for trustees with previous charity trustee experience or with experience working in the mental health or charity sector. Howerver if you beleive you have the passion, time and skills to help us take the charity forward please feel free to apply.
Trustees will typically lead on a particular project depending on their skill set e.g. editorial content, web site development, social media, networking with other charities, policies and procedures, funding/grants, human resources, writing articles for the website, review of online social anxiety courses and resources.

We are a friendly board, getting involved will mean that you can work with us on particular projects that suit your skills. We hold trustee board meetings for approximately 60 minutes each month and work on additonal projects as time allows.
