The Access Foundation is focused on making a real difference to people’s lives by awarding grants to charities which make a valuable and measurable positive impact.  Our grant giving objectives fall into three categories: 

1. to mitigate the digital divide by making computing facilities, support and learning available to disadvantaged and vulnerable people

1. to advance the charitable causes of the registered charities which are chosen as the "Access Group Company Charities of the Year"

1. to advance the charitable causes of charities for whom there is a strong emotional connection with a member of staff (e.g. through support they or a close relative have received from the charity) 

The Foundation aims to achieve this via a fund from which it awards grants to other charitable organisations aligned with the principles above. You are a key member or the team that works towards our target to award grants to a total value of +/- £2 million each year.

The Access Foundation was set up in 2021 following the success and growth enjoyed by The Access Group over the previous decade. While affiliated with The Access Group in terms of its identity, The Access Foundation is a separate organisation, governed by an independent board of trustees and with its own objectives and goals. 

The Access Foundation wants to fund projects and activities that make a real difference to people’s lives in the countries the Access group is active.To achieve our objectives, we are looking to appoint an experienced Operations Manager to help run and improve our operational processes.

Job objectives 

• Support the trustees in the due diligence and evaluation of each applicant and facilitate the decision-making process for each application 

• Support the ongoing evaluation process of all successful applicants and ensure agreed measures and outcomes are reported back to the Foundation in a timely manner 

• Manage the external communication of the Foundation’s successes back to stakeholders and supporters, as well as other channels on social media, such as Instagram and LinkedIn 

• Manage the communication with the Access Group and maintain an open channel of communication with the charities team at the Access group 

• Manage the Admin and Grants Assistant and ensure all Admin processes as well as operational processes are running smoothly and make changes where required 

• Manage the use of the accounting package Access Financials to ensure processes are followed and grantees paid on time.

• Oversee the data collation for and write the impact report 

• Collaborate and work with the trustees and volunteers 

Duties and responsibilities will include 

• Write regular reports to the trustees of new applications, applications in progress and outcomes, inform and advise the trustees to achieve a swift decision on all cases 

• Organise the publicity and communications around each successful grant, including newsfeeds, social media and website updates. 

• Liase with the Access Marketing team to support their own comms 

• Ensure financial accounts are accurate and complete 

• Liase with 3rd parties such as external suppliers and partners ranging from auditors to our financial partners 

• Draft Offer letters for the successful applicants 

• Recruit, Manage and Appraise the Admin and Grant Assistant

• Attend trustees, volunteers and applications meetings 

• Manage the access controls for volunteers and staff 

• Oversee the financial accounts, approve invoices on our bespoke Finance system and deal with some financial accounting together with our Chair of the board of trustees 

Skills and Experience Required 

• Organised, efficient and reliable with the ability to juggle multiple tasks simultaneous 

• A minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role 

• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships at all levels from junior to CEO 

• Computer literate with good knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook. 

• The ability to be an ambassador for the Foundation to all external parties and stakeholders 

• Strong verbal and written communication skills 

• Ability to travel to London as required (minimum once every 6 weeks) 

• Sympathy for grassroot charities 

• Experience of the charity sector 

The Operations Manager is responsible for Dose of Nature’s day-to-day operational management, providing a welcoming and efficient front face and ensuring organisational effectiveness to support the delivery of Dose of Nature’s strategic objectives. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic team player to join our warm and friendly charity team on a full-time basis for a period of one year, with the possibility of a part-time position thereafter. Dose of Nature is in an exciting phase as we continue to receive greater funding to expand our reach. The nature of the job responsibilities may require occasional flexible hours, including some evening and weekend hours up to 6 times per year, or adjusted beginning and ending times, for example to support with monthly evening training sessions. 

Dose of Nature is a mental health charity whose objective is to improve the mental health and wellbeing of individuals through increased engagement with the natural world. Our work is rooted in a wealth of scientific evidence that demonstrates the physiological and psychological benefits of spending time in nature. We deliver ‘nature prescriptions’ to people referred by their GP with a wide range of mental health issues, including depression, anxiety, trauma, and addiction. Our Dose of Nature Prescription Programme is overseen by psychologists and is a genuine alternative to both medication and more traditional psychological interventions. Through a combination of education, first-hand experience, and practical and motivational support, we aim to encourage a greater connection with nature, and inspire lifestyle changes that will have a significant and lasting impact on mental wellbeing. Dose of Nature is a fun, supportive and lively organisation that encourages creativity and independence, as well as a strong sense of working together as a team. 

The role is 37.5 hours per week and will involve working at Pensford Field, Kew, Monday to Wednesday from 9am-5:30pm and from home Thursday and Friday 9-5:30pm.

Key responsibilities and duties 

• To oversee the smooth running of the studio and field, ensuring Dose of Nature’s operational systems, processes and policies are fit-for-purpose, compliant with current legal requirements and are maintained effectively and efficiently. 

• To be the initial point of contact for all enquiries, responding quickly and efficiently to requests for information and other enquiries from a wide range of stakeholders, including clients, volunteer guides and trustees, health professionals, supporters, media, and academic institutions. 

• To be the main point of contact for volunteer guides; leading all aspects of the recruitment and induction process with the support from our Senior Administrator; and providing guidance and support to existing guides – including management of the on-going training programme. 

• To manage the programme of regular group sessions – ensuring volunteer group leaders and participants have the support they need so the sessions run smoothly; ensuring volunteer group leaders and participants have the support they need so the sessions run smoothly; ensuring dedicated support is in place for each group and proactively managing the seasonal timetable. 

• To assist the team in monitoring performance, including preparing internal and external performance reports on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis. 

• To manage and oversee the booking system for all client appointments and to support psychologists as appropriate. 

• To manage communication and marketing materials, including maintenance of website, developing and updating printed materials including promotional leaflets, training booklets, and weekly timetable communication emails and bi-annual newsletters. Work with Senior Administrator to distribute regular communications and materials and to maintain a dynamic collection of digital copy including photos, videos and media footage. 

• To lead community relationship building for Dose of Nature, to include attending promotional and networking events from time to time. 

• To assist the Chief Executive in the implementation and continued development of the Growth Strategy, including providing regular updates to trustees. 

• To manage the internship and work experience programmes – overseeing recruitment, giving clear guidance on standards and day-to-day management support. 

• To ensure statutory compliance with Health and Safety legislation – conducting risk assessments, monitoring performance and reviewing procedures. 

• To plan and coordinate regular Dose of Nature community social events, including two half day events and monthly evening events and AGM. 

• To monitor monthly spend and budgets including payment of expenses and incoming donations. 

Person specification 

Education: Educated to degree level or equivalent

This role will work closely with the Head of Support Services supporting our volunteers and wider community through a range of services and events. 

You’ll work with our incredible volunteers to support others living with conditions and raise awareness and understanding of our work.  You will recruit and support people to engage in volunteering in the way that best suits them.

Alongside this you will undertake administrative work to ensure the smooth running of Support Services, and deliver our flagship in person events.

Role Description

Volunteers

o Working with the CEO and Head of Support Services develop and deliver the Volunteering Strategy for the organisation.

o Work to significantly increase the inclusivity of volunteers and the work done by volunteers.

o Oversee the recruitment of volunteers and ensure appropriate induction in collaboration with relevant staff.

o Deliver mandatory initial and ongoing training for volunteers.

o Working with colleagues, produce and keep up-to-date policies, processes and forms, ensuring volunteers understand and use these resources.

o Provide day-to-day support to volunteers, working closely with the Head of Support Services.

o Manage all volunteer programme communications in collaboration with the Communications Officer including: ebulletins, website, social media and print materials.

o Collect and process feedback and statistics and compile reports on satisfaction and effectiveness as required.

o Provide specific support for volunteering roles including;

Helpline and Telephone Buddies

o Support the transition of the helpline to a new scheme such as our telephone buddy scheme

o Support and review the telephone buddy scheme

o In conjunction with the Head of Support Services, support the implementation and ongoing management of a new Facebook support group

o Collate statistics on helpline calls and report on this monthly.

Local Support Groups

o Support the establishment of online condition specific and new regional groups.

o Undertake visits to Local Support Groups as appropriate.

o Working with the Finance and Operations Manager support the groups to use funds they have raised.

Other Volunteers

o Support Office volunteers in their day to day work, being the first point of contact and allocating tasks.

o Working with the Head of Support Services contribute to the development of the Lived Experience Committee.

o Working with the Head of Fundraising support and engage Ambassador and Fundraising volunteers.

Support Service Coordination

o Ensure the CRM system is up to date with all Support Services information.

o Ensure all statistics relating to Support Services are up to date.

o Ensure Support Services’ phone systems and booked calls are effectively and efficiently set up.

o Ensure accurate record of all research and surveys we are asked to engage in and follow up on outcomes of that research.

o Undertake any small administrative duties as required.

o Where required, provide support in managing the helpline emails.

Support Services Events

o Lead on the development and delivery of three one day conference style events annually.  These will be held throughout the UK and will offer panel discussions and networking for our community. 

o In partnership with the wider team, occasionally represent The Foundation by running information stands, coordinating volunteers and preparing information for external events such as industry conferences.

o Where appropriate attend and present at external meetings.

o Support the management and delivery of the portfolio of online and in person events delivered by the Pituitary Foundation in conjunction with the wider team.

Main Purpose and Scope of the Role

The Marketing and Communications Manager will be highly motivated, and results driven. You will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing a strategy to enhance Action4Youths profile. This role is key in promoting brand awareness, engaging audiences, driving traffic and will enable the success of increased sales and fundraising.

You will lead on the creation of engaging content plans to promote Action4Youth’s work to multiple audiences, across multiple channels including PR, web, social media, e comms and print to increase engagement amongst partners, supporters and donors.

This job combines management responsibilities with being hands on and will suit someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and who is practical and able to get things done effectively.

Key areas of responsibility:

Strategy

• Supported by the Development Director, lead on the development and implementation of our marketing and communications strategy to position the charity and influence its many audiences.
• Develop engaging campaigns and events, from inception to implementation, to grow brand awareness, sales of our programmes and facilitate community fundraising.

· Lead on the formation of engaging and creative project plans to activate successful campaigns across all channels.

Marketing

· Take overall responsibility for the production and implementation of creative and compelling multimedia content, including, scheduling, reporting and analysis for driving and improving results.

· Analyse and report performance metrics and insights by producing regular performance, reach, engagement, conversions, and ROI reports in order to monitor the effectiveness of digital activity.

· Ensure the website works for optimum customer and visitor journey to improve analytics and ensure content and pages are easily accessible.

· Create and co-ordinate digital advertising and email marketing activity to support campaigns and organisational goals and provide reports to monitor effectiveness.

• Collate and prepare all marketing materials for a range of print collateral to support the charities work and define distribution and dissemination channels.

Communications

· Be the PR and media lead by planning, developing, and implementing PR and media strategies.

• Generate story-worthy press releases to facilitate coverage, increase awareness of all areas of service provision and elevate campaigns.

· Work collaboratively with the media and build strong relationships with key press and community figures via networking and events.

• Plan press and photo opportunities and attend events to optimise engagement.
• Develop and implement regular E-comms to different audiences by building strong and compelling email campaigns.

Other

· Monitor and report on performance against monthly KPIs and objectives and ensure planned expenditure is within budget.

Experience of developing and delivering multimedia campaigns to multiple audiences.

Experience of managing budget planning and allocating resource.

Strong written and verbal skills across all delivery platforms: PR, socials, web and E-comms. With the ability to write creative and engaging copy.

Experienced in using scheduling tools such as Hootsuite and Later (Desirable)

Experience of collating and utilising analytics to inform future development.

Experience of leadership and managing and developing a team.

Experience of the charitable sector. (Desirable)

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to build and maintain relationships.

Experience of creating compelling and engaging marketing collateral through software such as Canva. (Desirable)

• issues of peace, justice and equal rights in Israel and Palestine

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) has a critical role in ensuring we succeed in this work. As the motion design producer at Breast Cancer Now, you’ll play a key role in helping bring our work to life.

You’ll be creating high quality, engaging content about our life-changing research, campaigning, fundraising, services and health information. And you’ll be part of the multimedia team, where we produce video, photography, motion design and audio that help strengthen our brand and tell our story.

Reporting to the senior multimedia manager, you’ll be producing motion design projects that cover all aspects of the organisation. This includes producing multiple small and large-scale motion projects throughout the year to support major campaigns and projects. Experience of producing long and short-form content with an eye towards social trends is also desirable.

The role may require some work on larger video and photography projects throughout the year to support the wider team, so any skills in video production, video editing or photography would be an advantage.

1. Background and Purpose

The Deputy Director works in close partnership with the Executive Director (ED) to enhance the work of the small, dynamic secretariat team to create more momentum across its network. This new role will be instrumental in delivering on the strategic objectives and securing sustainable funding through its continued evolution. The person will be responsible for connecting the various programmatic areas of work quality assurance and impact, capacity support and its new country level work. They will guide planning processes to be able to track and analyse our impact. We provide creative speech and language therapy-based activities which build confidence and skills in people with communication difficulties due to learning disabilities, autism or dementia and provide training for communication partners.

About the role

Include was founded in 2018, in response to an identified lack of opportunity and support for people with communication needs and has grown steadily ever since. This post has been created in response to that growth and achievement.

The Operations and Business Development Lead will play an important role in overseeing effective organisational service delivery and working closely with the CEO to develop the role of the charity within Surrey and beyond. The role requires overseeing delivery of key projects, managing a small team of staff and volunteers, developing long-term business plans and curating relationships with new partners and funders to ensure Include has the resilience to deliver against its mission into the future.

As OBD Lead, you will be a key member of the Senior Leadership Team working with the CEO, Finance & Data Lead, Communications & Partnerships Lead & Clinical Lead to develop and deliver Include’s core services and processes, with an eye for sustainability, impact and long-term growth.

This is a hybrid role. You will be asked to assist at events or performances, in addition to regularly attending sessions and meetings.

Key Responsibilities:

Operations Management

• Develop, support, and improve service delivery of key activities
• Review and improve impact measurement processes
• Review and improve policies and procedures
• Review and improve governance frameworks
• Manage a team of staff and chair meetings
• Support with HR functions and structural
• Prepare and create reports for the benefit of CEO and board of trustees

Business Development and Fundraising

• Develop new relationships to improve the profile and reach of the charity
• Support the fundraising team with grant applications, community fundraising, donor management or corporate support as required
• Identify new revenue streams and opportunities
• Oversee, develop and support the funding strategy to ensure financial resilience
• Develop and update the organisation’s business plan
• Work with the senior leadership team to set achievable KPIs

 Event Management

•  Manage and coordinate Include events
• Evaluate event delivery and ROI

Volunteer Coordination

• Oversee and support volunteer recruitment including supported volunteers
