A bit about this role

As a charity we are able to help thousands of cats each year thanks to the generous donations we receive from members of the public. Our fundraising volunteers use their passion for cats and people to raise the vital funds needed to help more cats and kittens in need. As a fundraising volunteer we want to support you to fundraise in whatever way suits you best – whether that’s organising a fundraising event, fundraising online, promoting fundraising activities on social media, completing administration or supporting the development of new fundraising ideas! Whatever your skill set, this could be the role for you!

What can you expect to be doing?

This is a really flexible role – you can choose what you’d like to get involved with:

·Face-to-face fundraising – organising or helping with fundraising events, running supermarket collections and fundraising stands, monitoring collection tins

·Online fundraising – setting up online appeals, increasing social media engagement to maximise funds raised

·Marketing – spreading the word about our fundraising activities, for example on social media and with the local press  

·Completing administration – processing donations, sorting and recording donated goods, completing Gift Aid paperwork

·Championing our work – getting involved with developing new fundraising ideas and increasing community engagement

Founded in 1941 for young evacuees from London during the Second World War, The Pioneer Club is a registered CIC and charity supporting communities in St Albans and beyond. With our partners, we deliver arts programmes, music and skateboarding through events, workshops, training, and classes. Whether it’s live music in our iconic music hall, lessons with our amazing team of pro skateboarders, or on the stage with our performing arts programmes, there’s something for everyone at The Pioneer!

As an historic grassroots music venue, we have witnessed some of the biggest names in music come through our doors, including Motorhead and The Zombies of “She’s Not There”. Enter Shikari are another hugely successful St Albans band who started out at The Pioneer Club, before moving on to achieve global success, including headlining Download Festival and performing at Wembley Arena.

WHY WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT

Taking part in extra cirricular activities is so important for children and young people. Access to skateboarding, dance, music, art and other performing arts leads to benefits such as:

-Improved self-esteem and self-control

- Decreased hyperactivity and inattention

- Reduced antisocial or criminal behaviours

- Improved prosocial behaviours, such as empathy and helping others

Sadly, funding for the youth activity is decreasing year on year. And grassroots music venues are closing at a rate of 2 per week. This affects all young people, but especially those from the least advantaged communities who, as a result, may never pick up a musical instrument or have access to art and culture.

As a charity, we couldn’t exist without the support of our volunteers. As part of the team, you will be helping us to market our events and activities and to develop and support our website, which helps us to raise the funds to keep going, and ensure that every young person has access to the arts, no mater their circumstance.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

Web Design: Help us to design, build and launch our new website

COMMUNICATIONS AND ENGAGEMENT

• Manage social media and engagement content on LinkedIn; develop strategic communications plans; work with business units and internal stakeholders to ensure the website is up to date; write insight articles on LinkedIn/Website, amongst other duties.
• Volunteer 4-6 hours weekly remotely for 6 months.

We are working to make the UK version of Project Gutenberg so that education can be more affordable/ accessible. We are also working to offer online courses (in partnership with UK universities and even lessons for teachers, leading to the creation of better job opportunities. We are also doing some work in the environmental sector - with every book brought, £1 will be put to good use and for good deeds.

VISUAL CONTENT CREATION VOLUNTEER

• We are seeking creative individuals to join our team as Volunteer Visual Content Creators. As a Visual Content Creator, you will have the opportunity to produce captivating images and graphics for marketing, social media, and webpage design purposes, helping to enhance the visual appeal of the Eyeniversum platform and attract users.
• Volunteer 4-6 hours per week for 6 months

Farmhut aims to address the challenges faced by small-scale farmers in accessing finance and insurance services. Many farmers lack a digital record of their farming activities, making it difficult for lenders to assess their creditworthiness. In addition, the high cost of traditional insurance products makes it difficult for farmers to protect their crops and livestock from natural disasters and other risks. Farmhut's platform provides APIs for financial institutions to assess and finance farmers, as well as tailored loan products and insurance cover at affordable rates. The platform also provides farmers with a user-friendly interface to manage their financial and insurance needs.

Farmhut provides accessible and customizable financial solutions for small-scale farmers through APIs and tailored loan products. By leveraging technology and partnerships with financial institutions and insurance companies, Farmhut helps farmers access financial services that were previously unavailable to them. The platform also offers a user-friendly dashboard for lenders to manage their loans effectively, making the lending process more efficient and cost-effective. Through these efforts, Farmhut aims to bridge the funding gap and improve financial inclusion for small-scale farmers, ultimately helping to alleviate poverty and promote sustainable agriculture.

DIGITAL MARKETING VOLUNTEER

• We are seeking a skilled and experienced Digital Marketing Specialist to help us improve our brand presence on social media. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of social media platforms and digital marketing strategies.
• Volunteer 4-6 hours per week for 6 months.

We are working to make education accessible to everyone. Eyeniversum will have a UK version of Project Gutenberg (so finally also UK has a place where to find all Public Domain material that is 100% Public Domain, not just in US and then needs still research for UK people), Eyeniversum should also make Education more affordable/accessible by having online courses (maybe also in Partnership with UK Universities) or teachers lessons (so in general also by creating job opportunities, Eyeniversum will also have a Freelancer department (so Freelancers in UK have more opportunities to offer their services)…and much MORE, on TOP of all this, for each Product or Service bought on the Platform, the buyer will automatically also pay 1£ (at least) each purchase for a good action, for example as for now, for each priced eBook or online Course a Tree will be planted…we also plan to put for other good deeds for example for food for people in need or other similar issues.

MARKETER

• We are looking for multiple volunteers that have experience in SEO who can carry out the following assigned tasks:

  - Able to help with managing our social media platforms such as FaceBook, Twitter, Youtube, Linkedin etc. by posting updates and responding to comments and messages
  - Support us with email marketing, social media, content creation, and Google Ads.
  - Communicate with clients, customers and external agencies.
  - Help with website analytics to ascertain the relative effectiveness of ongoing campaigns and understand the way users interact with the site
  - Help with ideas for marketing programmes designed to enhance and grow the company’s brand

TBCCT West Central Florida assists in overcoming challenges faced by Black-owned businesses by providing crucial resources, including mentorship, networking events, and access to capital. These challenges include the access to capital, systemic discrimination, limited resources, market access and financial vulnerability.Through advocacy efforts, it works to address systemic barriers and promote policies that foster equitable opportunities. Additionally, the Chamber facilitates partnerships with larger corporations and government entities to create avenues for business growth and development. By promoting visibility and recognition of Black-owned businesses, it contributes to building a more inclusive and supportive economic environment in the Tampa Bay area, ultimately leading to greater success and prosperity for its members. 

MARKETING AND OUTREACH VOLUNTEER

CREATIVE DIGITAL MARKETER

• We are actively seeking volunteers to assist with our Marketing team. They will develop and implement social media marketing strategies to promote our digital learning platform; identify and engage with influencers to expand our reach and grow our audience; and, create engaging video content to showcase our platform and enhance user engagement, amongst other tasks.

The Bylines Network is a not-for-profit citizen journalism organisation. It has eight regionally-based publications in England, one in Scotland and one in Wales.

Who are Midland Mencap?

Midland Mencap is a charity which works and campaigns for accessible and inclusive services and a better quality of life for everyone with experience of learning disabilities and additional needs.

Purpose of the role.

To connect people wanting to cycle more with volunteer Bike Buddies who want to help them. We have people from many different backgrounds wanting support with their cycling for many reasons.  

For example:

· Coming back to cycling after time off

· Disability or ill health

· Finding quiet roads and cycle paths around the neighbourhood

· Building up confidence on busy roads

· Sharing experiences of things like cycling at night or what clothes to wear

· Checking bikes together before a ride

Bike Buddies provide crucial support and motivation to help people to participate in inclusive and adapted outdoor cycling. Volunteers support cyclists to achieve their fitness goals and enjoy cycling in our community.

Our Bike Buddies are great ambassadors for cycling, sharing their expertise of local routes and giving others the confidence to get around by bike.

If you feel confident cycling on the road or in a park with someone else, and are wanting to give back to others, this is the role for you.

What would I be doing?

You’ll need to find out what they want to do and where they want to go. Some people want to explore quiet streets locally or plan a longer journey. You may ride to the park or show them local routes – quiet ways, new cycle lanes and off-road paths are popular.

They may want to try out junctions or crossing busy roads – think about how to ride those safely. You may support a person at one of our pre-arranged Parkride cycle meetings and help them to develop the skills and confidence to cycle safely and independently.

What do I need?

This role will require:

· A roadworthy bike and riding equipment.

· Experience of regular cycling

· Some experience of cycle maintenance

·       A cycling competence session with parkride staff

· Friendly, calm, and patient

· A good listener & happy to chat

· Accepting of people who may be different to you

· Willing to learn and act within guidelines set out by Midland Mencap

· Good time management skills, reliability

· An enhanced DBS check will be required by all successful applicants.

When and where do you need me?

Either at organised events or 1-2-1 within your local area.

Ideally you can meet once or twice a month for approx. 2 hours.

We have parkride sessions running throughout the week including evenings and weekends.

Green Standard Trust DAO is a community-governed, purpose-owned land trust powered by blockchain technology. COMMUNITY MANAGER

• Building our community presence from scratch focusing on Twitter, Telegram and Discord; support manageing social media accounts, responding to comments, and fostering a positive community environment; monitor and report on growth and engagement metrics across our channels; and, work directly with both founders.

Borderline Support UK CIC are a small non-profit organisation made up entirely of volunteers. We work to support people with borderline personality disorder through peer support groups, signposting, and more.

Lived experience isn’t necessary for this post, but it would be an advantage.

We are currently looking for enthusiastic and passionate Research Assistants who can dedicate a few hours a month to work on projects with Borderline Support UK. We aren’t looking for people with buckets of experience (although please apply if you do!), so no matter your experience we’d like to hear from you. About the opportunity  

A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join the Smart Works Greater Manchester Board of Trustees. 

The Young Women’s Trustee will lead the development of understanding the needs of Smart Works Greater Manchester’s younger clients aged 16 to 25 years (these being unemployed, NEET or in danger of becoming NEET, and those leave the care system) and become a recognised and valued advocate for this community across Greater Manchester. 

The successful candidate will develop new and existing connections with referral partners who support young unemployed women, input to the marketing plan and social media content to better reach and communicate with this audience, and build relationships with corporate partners and grant funders who support this community. 

The candidate will also have the opportunity to connect with policy makers focussed on improving the employment outcomes for young women across Greater Manchester. 

General Duties of a Smart Works Trustee 

• Work with the Chair of the Board of Trustees to ensure the centre is well-run and governed effectively. 
• Provide support to determine the strategic direction of the Centre. 
• Advocate for the Centre, raising its profile and the awareness of the Smart Works service in the geographic area. 
• Build strong working relationships with the Chair, fellow trustees, staff, volunteers and supporters. 
• Work in a small team and tailor strong interpersonal and communication skills to all levels of seniority.

Personal Specification 

The Young Women’s Trustee will use their skills and experience to amplify the voices of Smart Works Greater Manchester’s younger clients and successfully network with key employment and skills programme providers, third sector, and 16+ educational organisations that exist across Greater Manchester. 

Lived experience of unemployment and / or experience supporting social value or youth unemployment projects is preferred, but not essential. 

The successful applicant will demonstrate enthusiasm for developing at board level and will become a real advocate for young women living in socially disadvantaged and minority communities across Greater Manchester. 

The Young Women’s Trustee will be required to sit on relevant task force groups as and when experience is relevant and attend (and prepare for) Board meetings taking place quarterly. For those new to Board positions, a mentor from the wider trustees team will be provided.
