A bit about this role:

As a charity we can help thousands of cats each year thanks to the generous donations from our supporters. Raising funds is a key role in our charity, helping to raise the vital funds needed to help more cats and kittens in need.

As a fundraising volunteer, we will support you every step of the way to ensure your time at Cats Protection is a positive and rewarding one. Whatever time you can give really does make a big difference We have lots of exciting activities to choose from for example attending a fundraising event, fundraising online, promoting fundraising activities on social media, handling administrative tasks, or contributing to the development of new fundraising ideas. Whatever your skill set, this role could be perfect for you!

What can you expect to be doing?

As a flexible role, you have the choice to be involved in the following:

• face-to-face fundraising – organising or helping with fundraising events, attending supermarket collections and monitoring collection boxes.
• online fundraising – assisting with online appeals, increasing social media engagement to maximise funds raised.
• bringing new ideas! We always love to come up with new ideas to raise funds for cats and we’d love to help bring yours to life.
• engaging with your local branch and Fundraising Hub and feeling like an integral part of the team.

At Cats Protection we believe our volunteers should be happy and confident in their roles. We provide support and guidance from our National Cat Centre and through our regional and local volunteer groups and teams. We offer engaging online and face-to-face training, expenses and have policies and processes to help volunteers get the most out of their time with us.

iTraceiT provides a blockchain and QR-code-based platform to document and verify the ethical and sustainable journey of products, from raw material to finished good. It addresses the lack of transparency in global supply chains, especially in the luxury sector, where companies struggle to substantiate their ESG claims and ensure ethical sourcing.

The lack of traceability leads to issues like unfair labor conditions, gender inequality, and greenwashing. iTraceiT tackles this by recording every transaction and transformation, empowering brands and governments to prove where materials come from and under what social and environmental conditions.

The solution enables fair compensation and recognition for artisanal miners and small producers, supports country-of-origin initiatives in places like Angola and South Africa, and generates verifiable due-diligence reports. By bridging technology and ethics, iTraceiT helps build a more transparent, equitable, and sustainable global trade ecosystem.

PR & Media Outreach

Role Overview

We are seeking a proactive and creative Public Relations & Media Outreach Volunteer to help position iTraceiT as a global thought leader in traceability, sustainability, and ethical sourcing. The ideal candidate will have a flair for storytelling and a strong network or understanding of international media, particularly within the luxury, jewelry, gold, and sustainability sectors.

Your mission will be to build relationships with journalists, editors, and media outlets; pitch story ideas; coordinate interviews with iTraceiT’s executives; and help ensure our message reaches the right global audiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a PR and media outreach strategy targeting international and industry-specific publications (luxury, jewelry, gold, ESG, and tech).
• Identify newsworthy stories and angles showcasing how iTraceiT drives ethical, transparent value chains.
• Pitch stories, op-eds, and interviews to journalists and editors worldwide.
• Coordinate and prepare iTraceiT executives for media interviews and speaking engagements.
• Support in writing and editing press releases, media kits, and background materials.
• Track and report on media coverage and PR outcomes.

Profile

• Experience or strong interest in public relations, communications, or journalism.
• Excellent writing and storytelling skills in English; additional languages (French, Spanish, or Portuguese) are a plus.
• Familiarity with luxury, sustainability, jewelry, or technology sectors is highly valued.

Your work will directly help iTraceiT amplify its voice on the global stage, raising awareness of how traceability supports responsible sourcing, fair labour practices, and sustainability reporting. Events Officer has the responisbility of organising (along with the help of a Trustee Events Manager) our magical visits to children/adults with LD, this could be at the hospital, social groups, refugee centres, libraries etc etc.

They will monitor the chapter email for submitted event booking forms (some of these will come from events organised by the Events Manager on Trustees). These will then be added to the calendar and advertised to volunteers. They will ensure each event organised has a handful of volunteers confirmed within a week of the event itself. They will then provide information and support to a Lead Volunteer to run the events. They will ensure that regular events are being attended by volunteers and that they have the costume and materials that are needed for these. They will follow up after events to ensure social media posts are made, hours are uploaded and that costumes are returned. They will ensure that all volunteers are attending events.

Unify Giving CIC – UK Based

Unify Giving is building more than just a platform — we’re building a movement around tech for good and social impact. We need a Community Builder to help us connect and grow that movement both inside and outside the organisation.

What you’ll do

• Support our volunteers: keep in touch, share updates, and make sure people feel connected and valued.

• Spot social impact leaders on LinkedIn, Slack, Discord and beyond — and invite them into our Tech for Good Unify Giving channel.

• Grow our community: help us build an online space where people working in social impact and innovation can connect, share, and support each other.

• Create opportunities for conversation: organise community calls, and help set up a podcast with our founder, Matt, interviewing other Tech for Good founders and innovators.

As a fundraising volunteer we want to support you to fundraise in whatever way suits you best, whether that’s organising a fundraising event, fundraising online, promoting fundraising activities on social media, completing administration or supporting the development of new fundraising ideas! Whatever your skill set, this could be the role for you! 

You can expect us to

• Provide you with access to learning, development and engagement opportunities

What we need from you

This is a really flexible role, you can choose what you’d like to get involved with, for example: 

• face-to-face fundraising. Organising or helping with fundraising events, running supermarket collections and fundraising stands, monitoring collection tins 

• online fundraising. Setting up online appeals and writing impactful cat case studies that maximise donations

• marketing. Spreading the word about our fundraising activities, for example on social media and with the local press  

• completing administration. Processing donations, sorting and recording donated goods, completing Gift Aid paperwork

● championing our work. Getting involved with developing new fundraising ideas and increasing community engagement

● photography. Capturing images of cats in care, cats we are helping, events and all things Cats Protection

Time expectation

This is a flexible role that can fit around your other commitments to suit you. You’ll be part of a team raising vital funds while having fun in the process!
