About Trans Celebration

Trans Celebration is a trans-led grassroots organisation based in the UK, dedicated to uplifting trans and gender-diverse communities through celebration, advocacy, and education. Our monthly campaigns use creative media like fashion, beauty, and the arts to highlight gender diversity and improve visibility, inclusion, and access to resources.

We’re looking for a detail-oriented and strategic SEO Specialist Volunteer to help optimise our online presence and ensure our campaigns and content reach the communities that need them most.

Job Summary

The SEO Specialist Volunteer will play a key role in enhancing the visibility and searchability of Trans Celebration’s website and digital content. This volunteer will work alongside the marketing team to implement SEO best practices, conduct keyword research, improve site structure, and analyse web performance—all to ensure our content reaches a broader audience and amplifies trans voices online.

Key Responsibilities

· Conduct keyword research to inform website content and campaign strategies.

· Optimise existing content for improved search engine ranking (meta tags, headers, alt text, etc.).

· Monitor and analyse SEO performance using tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and SEMrush.

· Identify technical SEO issues and collaborate with web/content teams to resolve them.

· Assist in developing backlink strategies and improving domain authority.

· Support the content team in creating SEO-optimised blogs and pages.

· Provide monthly reports on SEO performance and suggest improvements.

· Stay up to date with SEO trends, Google algorithm updates, and emerging best practices.

What We’re Looking For

Skills & Competencies:

· Understanding of SEO principles and search engine algorithms.

“Solta o Jogo” is a vibrant cultural competition and festival celebrating Brazilian heritage through Capoeira, music, dance, acrobatics, and a Brazilian arts & crafts fair. Hosted at Kingston University Townhouse, the event invites the community to participate in free performances, workshops, and exhibitions promoting cross-cultural understanding.

As part of this initiative, we are seeking a Public Relations (PR) Assistant to support the communications and public engagement strategy for the festival and wider organisational goals. This role is ideal for someone passionate about storytelling, community outreach, and brand visibility, while gaining hands-on experience in a meaningful cultural project. 

Position Overview:
The PR Assistant will support the PR Department in developing and executing external communications, engaging with local communities, coordinating media opportunities, and planning promotional campaigns. The position also includes leadership and team support responsibilities, offering the chance to build project management and people skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Media & Communications Support:

• Conduct research to inform PR planning and outreach strategies.

• Assist in writing and editing press releases, articles, and promotional content.

• Support social media content planning and scheduling under supervision.

Event & Community Engagement:

• Support the organisation and promotion of events that engage the local community.

• Foster positive community relations through public initiatives and collaboration.

Required Qualifications:

Education:

Skills:

As an Events and Communications Coordinator volunteer, you will play an essential role in supporting the charity’s event planning and communication efforts.  While this role is unpaid, it offers a valuable opportunity to gain experience and contribute to the charity’s mission.

Responsibilities:

Event Assistance:

• Collaborate with the events team to assist in planning and executing events.
• Help with brainstorming event ideas or proactively coming up with event ideas that would be beneficial for the charity.
• Provide support with tasks such as coordinating logistics, contacting vendors and attendees and helping with on-site event management.

Communication Support:

• Assist with the development and implementation of communication strategies to the target audience and materials.
• Help to increase the reach and impact of communication pieces by distributing and sharing newsletters, leaflets, posts etc. to relevant communities and outlets.

Content Creation:

• Assist in writing and editing promotional materials, such as event invitations and social media posts.
• Help with graphic design tasks, such as creating event posters and online graphics.
• Document the event, as directed, through photos and videos that can be used by the marketing team for marketing purposes.
• Photo and video editing skills are not essential but highly valued.

Audience Engagement:

• Help to drive reach and impact of social media activity through engaging with posts and sharing to local communities.
• Help to drive event attendance, registrations and, ultimately, optimise results for every event undertaken.

Collaboration:

• Work closely with the organisation's teams to ensure consistent messaging and branding.

Event Support:

• Volunteer at events to assist with various tasks, such as registration, guest services, and ensuring smooth event execution.
