What will I be doing?
- Foster a professional and welcoming environment that facilitates high satisfaction with members and community
- Manage our IOP Medals and Prizes and support our strategic engagement with academia, universities, national research facilities and independent research organisations.
- Play a critical role in our physics programme that will annually deliver up to four strategic impact projects to shape the debate on matters of importance to the physics community in academia and business across the UK and Ireland in order to influence and drive impact.
Projects you work on may include:
- Support our impact projects in science and innovation. Past projects include Green Economy, Quantum and Semiconductors.
- Manage the IOP Medals and Prizes, including execution of the engagement plan, managing key stakeholders including Awards Committee and providing customer service to nominees and winners.
- Manage and engage with key stakeholders in academia, including IOP Fellows and Members, award winners and universities, bringing new members into the fold.
Who will I work with?
- Members, including Council Trustees and Special Interest Group Committees.
- Senior individuals within academia and business.
- Staff within the Science and Innovation Department, and across the IOP and IOPP.
Essential Criteria and Skills required
- Organisational skills – ability to work with minimum supervision, prioritise workload, and handle multiple tasks.
- Interpersonal skills – ability to positively communicate with others; the confidence to listen and understand.
- Communication skills – ability to express information clearly and effectively in written and oral form.
Nice to have
- Understanding of physics/a physics undergraduate degree or equivalent.
- Experience of a membership organisation.

We are seeking a Sports Coordinator to lead on the planning and delivery of a varied, creative, dynamic, safe and youth-focused sports programme.
Position: Sports Coordinator
Location: Burnt Oak, London
Salary: £28,000-£30,000 depending on experience

About the role:
As Sports Coordinator for this leading UK Youth charity, you will deliver a sports programme through four distinct spaces: a gym/fitness suite; a sports hall; a MUGA (kick pitch); and a climbing wall. You will work with sessional staff and volunteers to ensure that these spaces are well-used and well-maintained.
You will also ensure that special projects/events that involve sports are properly organised and arranged. You will work to ensure the sports provision is ambitious, helping to deliver the charity’s overall objectives as an organisation.
About You:
To be successful in the role of Sports Coordinator you will need the following skills and experience:
- Extensive experience of delivering sporting activities to young people
- Proven experience of engaging vulnerable, disengaged or hard to reach young people in sports activities
- Experience of youth work
- Experience of managing a staff team, ideally including volunteers
- Activity or sports leadership/coaching qualifications
- Knowledge of the issues affecting young people and an ability to work with challenging behaviour and complex needs
- A willingness to work unsociable hours when required

About this role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Reprieve team as our Head of Digital and Mass Engagement covering parental leave. With the support of the Deputy Director of Development, you will lead our fast‐moving and creative Mass Engagement Team, who power fundraising across multiple channels. They do this by engaging and building a community of supporters and running campaigns that inspire people to support our work.
As a dynamic leader, you will oversee this area of our work by delivering and implementing Reprieve’s recently launched Mass Engagement strategy. You will work closely with colleagues across the organisation, as you lead digital campaigns that mobilise Reprieve’s existing community (currently about 95,000 people in the UK and 9,000 in the US) while inspiring others to join the movement.
Our Mass Engagement work is at a pivotal moment. Reprieve’s income from the general public through regular and individual giving, generated largely by email fundraising, has experienced a drop, with many of our supporters understandably reassessing their charitable giving in the face of the economic crisis.
In response to this new context, Reprieve is launching its new strategy and investing creatively to ensure sustained engagement and growth of our incredible community of supporters. Salary, contract and location

The Role
You will build trust with people the charity is sharing a story on behalf of and foster lasting relationships. You will manage media contacts, seeking out relevant opportunities in the press and work with partners on features.
Main duties and responsibilities include:

Age UK Redbridge, Barking and Havering offers a Dementia Advice Service providing high quality information, advice, guidance and support to people with dementia and their Carers throughout their journey living with dementia with a particular focus on moderate to late stages.
We are currently recruiting a Dementia Adviser in Redbridge to work in partnership with the London Borough of Redbridge and other Redbridge Dementia Partners. You will have an understanding of the needs of people with dementia and their carers either through professional or personal experience. You will have a key role in supporting people with dementia at various stages and encouraging people concerned about their memory to seek advice and assist them to access appropriate support to maintain their independence, enhance life choices and plan for the future. You will also help to develop coping strategies via support planning. This will include signposting and active referrals to relevant services as well as providing information on benefits available and assisting clients to access them where appropriate through various stages of their dementia journey. Provide community based, face to face services for an increased level of support for more complex cases.
This role requires the worker to work independently and manage their own caseload but be part of the wider team and be aware of the other services provided by Age UK Redbridge, Barking & Havering. The post involves both office based, home visit and outreach work at a variety of locations across Redbridge. Good IT skills are required and familiarity with Charity Log would be useful as well as knowledge of relevant quality assurance systems.
