As the Grants and Information Officer, you would be playing a vital role as part of the team in processing applications and requests for support from receipt to award, attending committee meetings and assisting in the general operations of the charity.
Position: Grants and Information Officer
Responsible to: CEO
Hours: Part-time - 21 hours per week (Flexible working and hybrid working considered with at least one day per week in the office required)
Salary: £28,000 - £31,500 FTE
Annual Leave and Benefits:

What you'll be working on:
Casework
- You will undertake case work and processing of applications, from performing initial checks and review to presentation to Case and Education Committees.
- You will liaise with beneficiaries and maintain appropriate records.
- You'll write agendas and minutes for committees.
- You'll advise and refer applicants to alternative sources of support when applicable.
Finance
- You'll administer grants and gifts to agreed levels.
- You will organise payments to beneficiaries and service providers.
- You will support the audit process.
Grants Management System/Benefactor
- You'll maintain and update grant management system.
- You'll review content and create reports, as necessary.
In-house resources/General Admin
- You will help update and produce in-house resources for approval by CEO and/or Executive Committee. These include application forms and guidance notes, annual review and reports, standard letters to beneficiaries, contact lists etc.
- You'll update website pages, with other members of staff team
- You will maintain and update standard operating procedures for processing applications.
- You will provide general office administration including replenishing office supplies.
Any other duties
- You will service and attend AGM and other meetings of PAG, as required.
- You'll represent PAG with other organisations, as required.
- You will undertake any other duties required by the CEO, Executive Committee and Committee of Management.

We are currently seeking a fixed term Grants Impact and Evaluation specialist to provide technical monitoring, evaluation, and learning knowledge to the Grants and Programmes Team and Battersea grantees. The Trusts and Foundations Officer will support the Trusts and Foundations team to meet income targets and develop and maintain relationships with donors and prospects. We’re looking for a motivated fundraiser to manage and grow a portfolio of small- and medium-sized trusts and foundations, whilst also supporting the Philanthropy Team in the development of the Major Donor programme.

Location: Home-based, UK, Nationwide, however occasional travel will be required as part of this role (may include team meetings or other work-related meetings)

Salary: Circa £30,000 per annum (inner London weighting £3,950 per annum or outer London weighting £2,100 per annum may be applied in accordance to where you live)

The Role
Sitting within the High Value Engagement Team – comprising Trusts and Statutory, Philanthropy, Bids and Tenders, and Corporate Partnerships – the Trusts and Philanthropy Officer will build relationships with loyal and prospective donors, raising vital funds to power the Association’s work to support more people affected by stroke.
You will report into the Trusts and Grants Manager, with key responsibilities including:
· Raising income in line with agreed personal and team fundraising targets.
· Managing a portfolio of low- and mid-value trusts and foundations: working with internal colleagues to develop and prepare bespoke funding applications and reports.
· Managing the Small Trust Mailing programme (raising c.£80k/year).
· Prospect research: identifying and researching promising new donor prospects.
· Supporting the Philanthropy Team with prospecting, cultivation and stewardship of Major Donors, as needed.
About You
You will have:
· Knowledge of trust/philanthropy fundraising for a charitable organisation or equivalent.
· Experience of building and developing effective relationships in a professional setting.
· Excellent standard of written English
· Drive, enthusiasm and proven ability to deliver or exceed targets.
To fulfil the role you must be resident in the UK and have the right to work in the UK.

You will assist clients in claiming welfare benefits, grants, and any financial aid that may be available to them. This includes informing them of any financial help available, supporting them with applications and following up on claim as necessary. Where anyone has been given an end of life diagnosis you will be required to start the application on their behalf. In addition, you will also conduct financial wellbeing assessments in the community and schedule one-on-one application completion consultations with individuals who request your assistance.
This vital role will suit an enthusiastic and dynamic person who has excellent communication skills, being able to deal with complex matters effectively both verbally and in writing. You will need to understand the issues involved in interviewing people within a time defined period. The ideal applicant will have emotional resilience to deal with people who have experienced cancer or bereavement. An empathetic and compassionate approach is important. The LSO Development department is looking for a knowledgeable and self-motivated individual to join our team as Trusts & Foundations Officer at an exciting time in the LSO’s history. Reporting to the Trusts & Foundations Manager, the role will primarily work within the Trusts and Foundations team to establish and maintain relationships with grant-giving bodies to help meet and grow income targets. These grants support a range of LSO activities, including projects within our pioneering learning and engagement programme, LSO Discovery; our exciting artistic season at the Barbican Centre; international tours; new commissions for the LSO and recordings produced by our record label LSO Live.
About you
Experience in fundraising from trusts, foundations and other grant-giving bodies is essential for this role, alongside strong communication skills, high attention to detail and a passion for creating concise and compelling written copy. An interest in orchestral/classical music is desirable.

The main task of the Institutional Funding Lead is to secure funding from UK-based institutional donors. Your primary focus will be the FCDO. You will drive forward dynamic and proactive engagement strategies directly with UK-based institutional donors and indirectly through consortia. The post holder will also develop and support organisational positioning for contracts and grants. This role will introduce innovative and agile funding approaches and models to enhance War Child UK’s competitiveness in a complex donor environment.
If you have the following qualities, we'd love to hear from you:
- Substantial experience of co-creating, leading, and coordinating complex proposal development processes directly and remotely – ideally for relevant donors including FCDO and humanitarian pooled funds
- Strong understanding of donor compliance, with an up-to-date knowledge of relevant donors including FCDO, and humanitarian pooled funds
- Experience in building networks, partnerships, and consortia to maximise programme impact and funding opportunities
- The ability to engage with diverse stakeholders in a way that leads to increased impact for the organisation, and to spot and create opportunities with institutional foundations effectively and facilitate increasing access to funding for War Child’s work
- Ability to analyse the donor environment and identify trends, anticipate changes, be comfortable to deal with a large number of elements interacting in diverse and unpredictable ways
- Good knowledge regarding current development and trends in the (international) aid sector
- Experience in leading and delivering donor engagement strategies in the humanitarian sector across multiple countries - ideally in fragile, conflict-affected settings, similar to where War Child operates
- Ability to travel occasionally
