About the Role

This role is key to shaping how the organisation maximises impact over the next 5 years, delivering on ambitions for the 2024-2029 Strategy. The aspiration is to help 10,000 young people at risk or experiencing homelessness, to reach their full potential.

By working with key players in the youth homelessness landscape, like-minded organisations, and embedding the voices and experiences of young people in this work, you will help maximise social impact and deliver £150m in social value by March 2029. 

You will ensure the charity is the best possible grant funder in the field, thoughtful, diligent, transparent and efficient, as it works with the very best charities across the country deliver vital support to young people facing homelessness.

You will be in charge of grant programme design, development, and delivery in line with the new strategy.  You will have the opportunity to work on new programmes and ideas, and to gather data and insight from this vital work (and other sources) that will help both future grant-making and our influencing work nationally.

Whilst grant-making experience would be helpful, what truly matters is your ability to strategically lead and drive projects that deliver impact. You’ll be at the forefront of developing and delivering new programmes, ensuring they align with key targets while bringing innovative ideas to life.

This role is not just about achieving KPIs, it’s about leading teams to achieve results. You will have experience of delivering presentations, developing ideas and projects collaboratively, and using data-driven insights to shape future projects and influence decision-making at a regional or national level. Strong project management, monitoring, and evaluation skills are key in this role, as are those of team- and partnership- working.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a vital role in shaping the future of one of the UK’s leading touring theatre companies. The Development Director will lead our fundraising strategy, building the relationships and resources that power our bold, nationally-reaching work.

As Development Director, you will work closely with the joint CEOs (Holly and Lisa) to deliver Headlong’s fundraising strategy. You will have the opportunity to develop the role and will be responsible for raising the funds to support Headlong’s mission and vision over the long-term.

We are working with a lovely charity client who are looking for an Interim Acquisition Lead to join their team on a part time basis (3 days per week) for an initial 3 month contract. 

This is a key role leading supporter acquisition for a well-known charity. The post-holder will be responsible for developing and delivering strategies to bring in new donors and grow income.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver the charity's supporter acquisition strategy.

Person Specifications:

Essential:

• Extensive experience in Individual Giving acquisition at a senior level, managing multi-million-pound investment budgets.

• Proven expertise in multi-channel direct response fundraising, including DRTV, digital, direct mail, and direct dialogue.

• Strong financial acumen, with experience in budget management, forecasting, and investment decision-making.

• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.

• Exceptional relationship management skills, with experience managing external agencies and key stakeholders.

• Data-driven approach with a strong understanding of fundraising performance metrics, analytics, and insight-led decision-making.

• Experience working cross-functionally with retention, stewardship, and legacy teams to align acquisition with long-term donor value.

• A demonstrable passion for fundraising.

• Significant experience in at least two of the three following areas – F2F (or D2D), Telemarketing, digital, TV & other media.

Community Alcohol Partnerships (CAP) is looking to engage the services of a results-oriented consultant with great people skills to set up CAP projects in high harm areas.

About Us

CAP sets up and supports local partnerships that aim to reduce alcohol harm in children and young people, improve their health and well-being and enhance their communities. Our mission is to create an alcohol-free childhood for all children and young people.

Role Overview

The successful applicant will have a track record of building effective partnerships, the people and communication skills to involve and engage a wide range of local stakeholders and the leadership and project management skills to support projects through each phase of their lifecycle including baseline evaluation, action plan delivery, post intervention evaluation and maintenance/sustainment. After a short familiarisation period the successful applicant will be expected to oversee fast-track development of new CAPs in priority areas and take responsibility for all aspects of their management with minimal supervision.

A key requisite of the role will be the ability to forge effective public/private sector partnerships between statutory agencies, schools, youth charities and retailers following the CAP model and evaluation framework. The successful applicant may come from a police, public health, education, local authority or other relevant background.

Key Responsibilities

· Proactively identify opportunities for new CAPs and facilitate set up of new CAPs in priority areas.

· Ensure that all new CAP projects carry out appropriate and timely interventions and evaluate all activity in line with the CAP evaluation toolkit – including a baseline and post intervention evaluation.

· Raise the profile of CAPs in Scotland and ensure that their impact is recognised by key stakeholders.

Specific duties to include the following:

o Represent CAP at all operational meetings.

o Ensure that Retail of Alcohol Standards Group (RASG) member companies play a full delivery role in each CAP where they operate as businesses.

o Liaise as appropriate with strategic leads within local enforcement authorities and other partner organisations to initiate and complete agreed actions.

o Encourage all projects to achieve positive local media coverage including via social media and regional news/broadcast media.

o Ensure that all projects carry out as a minimum a baseline (pre-CAP) evaluation and post intervention evaluation following the CAP evaluation framework and project management survey tools.

o Produce a monthly progress report on all schemes and pipeline activity.

o Attend and participate in regular CAP update meetings on Microsoft teams (x12 pa).

o Assist with event planning and profile-raising opportunities such as MSP visits to CAP projects.

Skills, attributes and experience

• Essential to the role will be the ability to persuade key stakeholders at local and national level of the need to address underage drinking problems and to facilitate effective and dynamic local partnerships involving any/all of the following sectors: local authorities, education, child protection, social services, public health, Alcohol and Drug Partnerships, police, retailers and licensing.
• Excellent organisational and sound project management skills.
• Great people skills with the ability to build consensus and motivate partners to play a role in timely delivery of an agreed action plan.
• Act as an ambassador for CAP at meetings and events including parliamentary events.
• Excellent presentation and all-round communication skills.
• Capable administrator with the ability to keep accurate records including data collection around outputs and impact evaluation.

Remuneration: Consultancy fee of £320 per day depending on experience. Work will depend on ability to generate interest in setting up new CAPs but we anticipate as a guideline engaging a minimum of 2.5 days of consultancy per week or around 100 days per annum. All reasonable and agreed travel expenses will be paid in line with invoice arrangements.

The purpose of this role is to contribute to achieving the objectives in the EU Financial Policy and Regulation project, specifically the work on public finance, fiscal policy and industrial strategy. Together with partners and allies, this role will help stop the political polarisation of net zero and contribute to building the broader case for public investment by establishing and propagating a narrative linking the opportunities of the clean energy transition with improving conditions for households and communities. This role sees the big picture and can translate it into actionable plans for maximum impact.

You have experience working on public finance, fiscal policy, or industrial strategy. The Purpose of the Role

 The External Relations (ER) department includes private fundraising, marketing & communications and advocacy. The Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team plays a vital role in supporting ER to advance our ambitious global strategy. This is an externally funded post which will be focused on opening new provision and supporting existing provision in order to reduce waiting lists within specific funding areas. You need to be able to coach, empower and inspire our volunteers and cadets, both in person and remotely, to grow the Sea Cadets.

- Our Public Fundraising team harnesses the support and energy of individuals and groups, helping them to give back in the way that works for them. This includes committed giving, in memory support, gifts in wills, and fundraising events and challenges. Our Philanthropy and Campaign teams builds relationships with individual philanthropists, trusts, foundations, and corporate organisations which give, or have potential to give, £10,000 to the charity each year. They lead major appeal activity for the charity, currently focused on our exciting cancer campaign which is due to launch in 2025.
