Sense International are currently recruiting for a Fundraising Officer to join their Fundraising team. This permanent opportunity will work on hybrid basis from our office in King's Cross, London, working 37.5 hours per week.

The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering and growing income to support the charity’s mission. Working closely with the Senior Trusts Funding Manager, you will help implement fundraising plans across multiple income streams, including trusts and corporate foundations, events and individual giving.

As a key member of the Fundraising Team, you will work closely and collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation, including programmes, communications and finance. Your excellent communication and relationship-building skills will be essential as you identify and assess partnership opportunities and ensure these are effectively passed to the relevant fundraising leads for cultivation and development as well as having ownership yourself in developing a portfolio of donors.

Key Responsibilities

• Prospecting and researching new trusts and corporate donors who align with Sense International’s mission and can support our work.
• Writing compelling grant applications and proposals to new potential donors.
• Working with the programmes team and Senior Trusts Manager to draft compelling funding reports for donors.
• Track and report on income, KPIs, and donor engagement activity.
• Support the delivery of our Big Give fundraising campaign to grow income and individual donor engagement.
• Manage our small group of eventers including London and Paris Marathons.
• Work with colleagues across fundraising, communications, programme delivery and finance to ensure consistent messaging and reporting.
• Supporting with other adhoc duties that may arise as requested by the CEO and Associate Director, including supporting other members of the Sense International team.

The Global Foundations & Institutional Donors team is comprised of 12 colleagues working with either Institutional Donors or Foundations based in Copenhagen, Berlin, Brussels, Geneva and Kyiv. About the job

As Senior Partnership Advisor you will be part of the Global Foundation and Institutional Donors section (GFID) working directly with the Head of Global Foundation and Institutional Donors, colleagues based in HQ, DRC Representations in Geneva, Brussels and Berlin, and regionally with the Regional Business Development Coordinators. Your overall responsibility will be to support DRC’s capacity strengthening to maintain and improve donor relationships and fundraising efforts.

The Senior Partnership Advisor oversees the engagement and fundraising efforts focusing primarily on FCDO and the UK-based foundations, potentially there would also be some coverage of non-core donors like Irish Aid, Jersey Aid etc. You are tasked with undertaking analyses, elaborating donor intelligence, to inform and advise senior management and colleagues about partnership development as well as fundraising opportunities.
 

Your main duties and responsibilities will be:

Strategy

• Support design and advancement of the global donor engagement strategy based on the FCDOs’ donor trends and priorities, (and relevant non-core donors).
• Mapping and scoping of UK-based foundations with the support of the wider GFID team.
• Lead the development of donor-specific engagement action plans for the FCDO and relevant foundations and steer their implementation.

Partnership Engagement

• Lead on a strong and strategic partnership between DRC and FCDO at capital level and UK-based Foundations and engage proactively with FCDO (and relevant non-core donors) to address challenges and opportunities related to DRC’s partnership at global level and inform/advise ROs/COs accordingly. Develop tools and guidance to support engagement with FCDO
• Provide support and expertise to DRC country and regional operations on the partnership.
• Represent DRC in dialogues with core donors on regulatory frameworks and actively participate in relevant events and coordination mechanisms with peer organisations or other networks and platforms.

Donor intelligence and knowledge management

• Monitor and analyse relevant trends and donor intelligence and provide strategic advice on possible impact and ways to adapt across all levels of the organization for FCDO, relevant UK foundations and /or non-core donors).
• Develop qualitative and quantitative analyses to feed into donor trends and global donor analyses, lessons learned, and other dissemination documents.

Partnership Management – externally and internally

• For FCDO funding, develop tools, platforms, and internal workflows for efficient strategic donor compliance (this includes maintaining DRC Insite donor pages, updating and publishing internal guidance tools such as Donorpedias, fact sheets etc.).
• Strengthen capacities of Grants Management Unit staff on FCDO policies and guidelines.
   

Occasional travel will be expected to DRC HQ, DRC representations or DRC country offices

About you

To excel in this role, you will have natural communication and social skills, including networking and the ability to influence. You are comfortable navigating internal stakeholders horizontally and vertically, and representing DRC externally with donors, peer organisations and in other forums.

You have strong knowledge of FCDO’s structure and funding priorities, including regulatory frameworks and contracting. This role calls for someone who is both a “thinker” and a “doer” - an ability to work on strategic-level analyses while being detailed as well as being results and service-oriented.

• Documented extensive experience with institutional donors and donor engagement, and in particular, FCDO
• Experience in engaging with philanthropic and private sector foundations
• Understanding of the links between compliance and building the image of a go-to organisation for donors

• Strong verbal and written communication skills with an ability to identify, address and communicate the core of an issue, even if very complex

A globally focused civil society network is seeking a strategic and values-led Head of Finance to join its leadership team at a pivotal moment in its growth. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the finance function of a mission-driven organisation making tangible impact around the world. You’ll work closely with the Director of Operations and Finance to drive financial strategy, oversee compliance and regulatory frameworks, and ensure the organisation is equipped with the tools and insight it needs to thrive.

You will lead a small, skilled team and help embed best practice across multi-currency finance operations, supporting staff globally and enabling high-quality grant management.

Key responsibilities include:

• Strategic leadership: Provide long-term financial planning and risk management to underpin organisational growth and sustainability.
• Operational delivery: Lead on financial reporting, budgeting, statutory accounts and audit, ensuring systems and processes are efficient and compliant with UK and international requirements.
• Grant finance: Partner with fundraising colleagues to prepare and monitor grant budgets, maximise cost recovery and ensure timely and accurate donor reporting.
• Regulatory oversight: Oversee filings with UK regulators (Charity Commission, Companies House, HMRC), and maintain compliance frameworks for international operations.
• Team leadership: Manage and mentor a high-performing finance team and build financial capability across the organisation.

Person specification:

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CCAB equivalent).
• Strong knowledge of UK charity SORP, grant compliance and multi-currency budgeting and forecasting.
• Excellent communicator, confident in presenting financial information to non-finance audiences, senior leadership and donors.
• Hands-on approach to finance systems and controls; experience with packages such as QuickBooks, SAP Concur, Sun or Sage is a plus.
• Collaborative and values-led, with a deep commitment to social justice and global equity.

Right now, we are looking for a HR Business Partner – Wellbeing, Reward & Benefits Lead to play a pivotal role in our Central Services in London.

Sounds great, what will I be doing?

This role is a comprehensive HR Business Partner position responsible for aligning HR strategy with the operational and strategic goals of Hestia. The postholder will work closely with designated client groups to support organisational change, including restructures, TUPE processes, and the implementation of new services. A key aspect of the role is coaching and supporting line managers to lead inclusively and in alignment with the organisation's values, as well as helping embed learning and development initiatives across teams. The role also champions Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI), wellbeing, and reward and benefits.

The role involves providing expert HR guidance on employee relations and employment law, particularly in complex or sensitive cases. This includes managing issues such as conduct, performance, absence, grievances, and whistleblowing. As a member of the Resolution Hub, the HR Business Partner also leads mediation and conflict resolution efforts. The role ensures that HR practices are legally compliant and reflective of Hestia's values, collaborating with other departments to continually improve and align the people strategy.

In addition, the postholder oversees wellbeing and benefits initiatives, maintaining internal platforms and working with third-party providers. They use data to monitor engagement and uptake, guiding improvements and equipping managers with the tools to support staff effectively. The role also includes project management responsibilities, such as vendor transitions and scheme enhancements, to strengthen Hestia's overall employee value proposition.

The HR Business Partner will also take a lead in business change processes, ensuring due diligence during TUPE and structural changes, while facilitating smooth onboarding and offboarding experiences for staff. Externally, they may represent the organisation as the main HR contact. Data analysis and reporting are essential, with the postholder tracking key HR metrics and contributing to both internal and external reports, such as those for the Charity Commission.

Finally, the role involves supporting broader HR functions, including recruitment and HR operations, as well as chairing and coordinating team meetings. There is a strong emphasis on contributing to and leading EDI and anti-racism strategies, supporting internal network groups, and collaborating with Hestia's recognised trade union, Unison. This is a dynamic and impactful role that requires strategic insight, strong interpersonal skills, and a proactive, values-led approach to HR.

Here's what the team will be looking for

The ideal candidate for this role will bring substantial experience as an HR Business Partner, ideally gained in a fast-paced, change-driven environment. They will have led on key people-focused areas such as wellbeing, reward, and benefits, and possess a strong background in managing complex HR issues. With at least 5 to 7 years of experience in HR Business Partnering or as an HR Manager, they will be adept at supporting organisational change and driving strategic people initiatives.

They will be fully CIPD qualified, preferably to Level 7, and demonstrate a deep knowledge of employment law. Their experience will include leading TUPE transfers, managing restructures, and handling redundancy and consultation processes. The role requires someone with excellent communication and problem-solving skills, who can build strong, trusted relationships with stakeholders while offering challenge and support when necessary.

Attention to detail, strong numeracy, and excellent written English are all essential. The candidate will also need to be IT literate and comfortable working with data. A sound understanding of safeguarding is required, and prior experience working in the charity or public sector would be advantageous.

Purpose of the Role

This role plays a key part in advancing Small Woods’ sustainability by:

• Securing philanthropic support through grants, trusts, and donors.

Key Responsibilities

Philanthropy & Fundraising (Approx. 2 days/week)

• Identify and pursue funding opportunities from UK-based trusts, foundations, public sector schemes and corporate sponsors.
• Write compelling grant applications for projects focused on woodland innovation, social prescribing, education, and conservation.
• Steward funder relationships, ensuring timely reporting, compliance, and meaningful engagement.
• Collaborate with internal teams to shape fundable project proposals with measurable outcomes and clear budgets.
• Support development of earned income streams, such as training, consultancy, and membership, by identifying and promoting opportunities.

Partnerships & Outreach

• Develop and manage partnerships with philanthropic donors, environmental organisations, and community networks.
• Coordinate cross-sector collaborations to support long-term funding and awareness.
• Represent the charity at relevant events, building networks and advocating for Small Woods’ mission.

Marketing (Approx. 1 day/week)

• Plan and deliver digital campaigns to promote income generation related initiatives, membership services, events and impact stories.
• Maintain and update website content to reflect income generation related current activities and opportunities.
• Create high-quality materials, including items for the newsletters, case studies, reports and social media content.
• Support member engagement by helping grow and connect our network of woodland supporters, volunteers and stakeholders.

Person Specification

Essential

• Proven experience in grant writing and fundraising for charitable organisations.

RESEARCH & EVALUATION OFFICER

Salary: £36,000 - £43,000 per annum

We need you to help ensure Cancer Research UK's (CRUK) activities and communications to improve the prevention, early detection and treatment of cancer are evidence based and appropriately evaluated. Further to this, you'll consolidate insights from these projects and the relevant literature, ensuring they are disseminated within the charity and beyond. 

What will I be doing?

• Project managing and providing advice on research/evaluation of CRUK activities ensuring that the methods, analyses and communication of results are appropriate, high quality and have maximum impact

• Interpreting and communicating research/evaluation results effectively to internal and external stakeholders

• Developing a sound, rounded knowledge of topics relevant to reducing cancer incidence and improving cancer outcomes, as appropriate to their portfolio of responsibilities, through review of evidence, and close collaboration with colleagues within the team, department and the whole of CRUK

• Contributing to the critique and synthesis of research, data and insight through the preparation of evidence briefs and evidence-based content, distilling key points

• Preparing PowerPoint decks, one pagers, reports, and conference presentations/posters to a high standard, working with colleagues and/external researchers as appropriate to communicate insights and influence future work programmes

• Maintaining good working knowledge of behavioural research evidence relevant to specific projects (e.g. barriers to bowel cancer screening participation) through interrogation of the evidence base and via internal and external networks

• Helping to ensure research/evaluation budgets are appropriately managed and distributed within and between projects across Policy, Information and Communications

• Maintaining and developing effective working relationships with CRUK colleagues, key stakeholders, academics/other experts and external suppliers, making the most of opportunities for collaboration on research/evaluation where appropriate. 

What skills are you looking for?

• Postgraduate qualification or equivalent experience working as a researcher or evaluation specialist, ideally in health

• Knowledge of behavioural research evidence, ideally relevant to cancer prevention, early diagnosis and cancer treatment

• Extensive experience carrying out quantitative and qualitative analysis (e.g. statistical significance testing, thematic analysis)

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to flex communication style to suit a range of professional and lay audiences

• Project management experience with the ability to prioritise effectively, balancing project level tasks with strategic focus 

• Ability to quickly analyse and draw robust conclusions from scientific papers and reports

• Demonstrated experience in survey design and analysis

• Drive and determination to deliver high quality research and evaluation

• Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, academics, health professionals, external suppliers and other stakeholders

• Ability to select and negotiate with external suppliers to drive cost efficiencies

• Proficient with statistical analysis software (e.g. STATA or SPSS).
