• Evidence of personally managing a varied prospect pipeline of Trusts & Foundations funders, with experience of developing and managing complex relationships and projects.
• Strong experience of building relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Prior experience of line management is desirable.

Are you aware of the significant health inequalities that people with a learning disability face in the UK and levels of avoidable deaths? Are you passionate about access to justice for the families of people with a learning disability who have died avoidably in acute healthcare settings?

We’re looking for a dedicated Legal Casework Manager (Helpline) to join our committed information and advice team covering England at Mencap on a full time (37.5 hours per week) fixed term contract for 2 years.

Here at Mencap we are a leading charity providing advice, support and opportunities to people with a learning disability across England, Wales and Northern Ireland. The role will lead on supporting families to get answers about how their loved ones died and change across the healthcare system to prevent future deaths. 

The role is flexible in terms of location, which can include home working, using Mencap’s office bases, such as in London and Peterborough, and will include some national travel, for example to inquest hearings or to meet families when needed. 

About the Role

As Legal Casework Manager (Helpline), you’ll provide advice, support, and casework assistance to families facing complex legal issues, specifically relating to people with a learning disability who have died in avoidable circumstances across England, mainly within the healthcare system. Working within a small, supportive team, you’ll manage your own caseload, contribute to the body of knowledge about avoidable deaths and help empower families to understand and exercise their rights and get answers through the inquest and other investigations processes. 

Key Responsibilities

· Provide clear, accurate, and timely legal advice and casework support for families.

· Work closely with clients, many of whom will be distressed, ensuring a sensitive, trauma informed and professional approach

· Maintain up-to-date case records and comply with quality and regulatory standards

· Support strategic litigation and advocacy efforts where appropriate

· Liaise with other charities, coroners, legal professionals, and agencies to support families to get answers

· Work towards a world where people with a learning disability are no more at risk of death in hospitals, than any other person

· Manage a team of caseworkers working across different areas of advice.

About You

We’re looking for someone:

· Legally qualified in the UK or similar jurisdiction with at least 3 years post qualification, working in either clinical negligence, inquests or inquiries. Or similar number of years working as a senior case worker in an inquest/clinical negligence/inquiries advice role.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a non-judgemental and empathetic approach

· Ability to manage a varied workload, prioritise effectively, and work independently

· Ability to travel effectively to support families at inquests, and to attend meetings

· A clear understanding of the importance of professional boundaries and in maintaining their emotional wellbeing in distressing situations

· Strong management skills and ability to supervise, coach and mentor colleagues. 

· Experience of accurately recording client case records and use of CRM/client database system

Role: Sport, Activity and Membership Coordinator

Reporting to: CEO

Salary: £30,000 – £33,000

Location:Split between home based, on site at Metro sports and activities across London, and occasionally in our office (WC1N 3AR) locations.

Monitoring and Reporting:

·Monitor participation and effectiveness of all sports and activities

·Gather engaging information for qualitative and quantitative reports.

Communication:

·Communicate regularly to Metro members on available sporting and active social opportunities, e.g. via email and WhatsApp groups

·Look after the charities email inbox

·Seek the views of members and analyse feedback in ways that will aid planning and contribute to Metro’s strategic development. 

·Ensure information is always available in accessible formats

Person Specification

Experience of:

·Programme / project development and implementation.

·Identifying and building partnerships with external stakeholders.

·Delivering project in time and to budget.

·Organising and promoting events, including management of volunteers as well as health.

·Demonstrable experience of people increasing participation in activities.

·Collecting tangible and motivational information for reporting

·Direct experience of the issues and challenges relating to visual impairment (desirable).

About the role

This role within our external affairs team focuses on securing impact for our work through the management and delivery of effective communications, events, campaigns and public affairs work.

This varied role involves management of L&W’s digital communications, press and media work, stakeholder relations and events throughout the year. The role also involves supporting the delivery of L&W’s flagship campaign, Get the Nation Learning, and supporting L&W’s public affairs work. The postholder will work closely with the senior management and research and development teams to develop and deliver effective communications and influencing strategies, and to support fundraising through sponsorship of our events and other communications activities. The role involves working with our team in Wales who lead on campaigns and activities in Wales.

The ideal candidate will need experience of working in a busy communications role; experience of developing and delivering in person and online events; a track record of building relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels; flexibility and adaptability; excellent project management skills; and an interest in adult learning, employment and skills policy. 

Duties and Responsibilities

Communications

• Secure press and media coverage for L&W’s work, including proactively identifying opportunities to promote our work, responding to press and media enquiries, and working with colleagues to launch research reports and other outputs.
•  Lead the development of regular and ad-hoc external communications, including press releases, newsletters and marketing communications.
•  Manage our social media channels and website, producing regular, high-quality content.
•  Ensure all activities are monitored and evaluated to assess impact and to inform future work.

Events

• Manage the planning and delivery of L&W’s in-person and online events, including our annual Employment and Skills Convention.
• Work with internal and external colleagues to develop content for L&W’s events, including securing high-profile speakers.
• Secure sponsorship for L&W’s events.
• Ensure all activities are monitored and evaluated to assess impact and to inform future work.

Campaigns

• Support the delivery of Get the Nation Learning, including national awards, Get the Nation Learning Week, and regional adult learning awards.
• Work with colleagues to secure sponsorship for Get the Nation Learning.

Policy and public affairs

• Support the planning and delivery of L&W’s public affairs activities, with a focus on UK Parliament, UK Government, Mayoral Combined Authorities, and local government in England, in order to raise our profile and deliver impact.
• Undertake regular public affairs activities, including: horizon scanning and planning for upcoming parliamentary activity; writing to Ministers and MPs; coordinating parliamentary briefings, parliamentary questions and consultation responses; and other policy influencing opportunities.
• Ensure all activities are monitored and evaluated to assess impact and to inform future work.

Other duties

• Line manage staff according to organisational need.
• Undertake any other duties commensurate with the grade and level of responsibility for this post.

About you

Essential criteria:

• Excellent communication (oral and written), good copywriting, with the ability to tailor communications to a range of audiences.
• Proficient in MS Office.
•  Strong social media skills including the use of platforms such as Bluesky and LinkedIn, with proficiency in the use of web and social media analytics tools, such as Google Analytics.
• Basic design skills and familiarity with design software, such as Canva.
• Proficient in the use of CRM, email marketing and website editing software.
• Strong project management skills.
• Knowledge of the press and media, and how to secure coverage.
• Knowledge of, and commitment to, L&W’s charitable aims and purpose.
• Proven experience in a communications role.
• Experience of designing and managing events.
• Proven ability to work under pressure, prioritise workloads, negotiate and meet deadlines.

Desirable Criteria:

• Knowledge of the policy-making process and how to influence it. 
• Knowledge of current policy and practice in education, skills, and employment, and associated areas of public policy.

Mind in Enfield and Barnet is a fast-growing charity in North London providing much needed therapy, wellbeing support and advocacy services to people with mental health problems. 

An exciting opportunity for an experienced Health & Wellbeing Practitioner to work with a new partnership of Unified Community Assistance Network Enfield. UCAN Enfield is a consortium led by Age UK Enfield, with delivery partners from One to One, Mind in Enfield and Barnet, Wellbeing Connect, Bread n Butter, Cooking Champions and Middlesex Association for Blind.

We offer a range of services and activities to promote health and wellbeing and independence to residents aged 18+ who may be affected by sensory loss, autism, mental health conditions, long-term health conditions, and people whose voices are seldom heard.

Our specialist programme has been designed to be inclusive for all, and includes healthy eating and nutrition, cookery workshops, exercise and wellbeing groups. We also deliver peer support groups and lead the Adult Autism Hub.

Duties will include:

• Working alongside UCAN Enfield partners to co-produce and support the delivery of a programme of health and wellbeing sessions in the community that meet a range of needs from general population to specific conditions
• Attending community activities to meet new potential referrals and engage with participants.
• Managing shared UCAN Enfield Email inbox on a rota basis and loading new referrals onto Charity Log.
• Using Charity Log (CRM) to access and manage referrals by triaging and determining their level of need 1,2,3* and allocating the appropriate support which may include referring to other UCAN Enfield partners or referring to other partners.
• To manage a case load of 25 new referrals per month.
• To work alongside UCAN partners to ensure that referral pathways are established and maintained with GP’s, Enfield community organisations, VCS, Social Care, Health Teams, pharmacies.

The successful candidate should have a minimum 2 years of relevant experience in social care, housing and VCS Services.

This is a full-time position, 35 hours per week covering the service between 9-5 Monday to Friday. Salary is £27300 per annum.

Senior New Partnerships Manager – TFI

£48,796 - £50,396 pa

City of London E1 8QS and we are a hybrid working organisation

Please note this is a hybrid role based on the successful candidate working at least two days a week in our London office. Remote contracts would not be considered for this role.

Purpose of Role

The Senior New Partnerships Manager plays a critical role in helping Comic Relief achieve its mission of a Just World Free from Poverty by securing transformational partnerships with trusts, foundations, and institutional funders (TFI). These high-value, long-term collaborations enable Comic Relief to scale its impact, reach new communities, and invest in sustainable, social change across the UK and globally.

Working closely with the Head of New Partnerships & Philanthropy, the postholder is responsible for leading the development and delivery of a strategy to secure and manage six- and seven-figure partnerships that generate significant restricted and unrestricted income. This includes developing compelling partnership propositions, managing complex negotiations, and ensuring alignment with Comic Relief’s funding strategy and social change objectives.

This role works cross-functionally with key internal teams—including Funding, Finance, and Legal—to shape partnership frameworks that reflect best practice, sustainability, and shared value. As a senior representative of Comic Relief to external funders, the Senior New Partnerships Manager will also lead on relationship management and influence strategic collaboration, ensuring our partners are engaged, inspired, and aligned with our mission and values.

Key responsibilities:

· Work with the Head of New Partnerships & Philanthropy to develop, implement and monitor a strategy for delivering new high value partnerships with trusts, foundations and institutions 

· Responsible for an agreed multi-million-pound personal income targets each year

· To work closely with the Funding Team and other colleagues across the organisation to develop partnership propositions that are in line with Comic Relief’s funding strategy and will leverage significant income for Comic Relief 

· Develop, implement and monitor relationship management principles for TFI partners, including representation on night of TV, governance structure, stakeholder mapping and ways of working with the funding team

· Relationship management of key TFI partners, working with colleagues from across Comic Relief to ensure delivery against agreed partnership objectives. 

· Work with Funding Team and Finance Team to ensure that sufficient core costs and management fees are included in partnership agreements, working closely with Finance and Legal to manage this consistently 

· To clearly negotiate contractual and legal frameworks for partnerships that deliver restricted and unrestricted income to help deliver Comic Relief’s social change strategy

Essential criteria

· Experience of working in partnership with major UK or global trusts, foundations or institutions

· Proven demonstration of hitting sales/fundraising targets

· Experience developing and implementing bespoke plans/objectives for each partnership.

· Experience of securing and managing £1m+ multiyear partnerships

· Exceptional communication, networking, influencing and persuading skills

· Strong track record of cross-functional collaboration within complex organisations.

· Experience with contractual and legal frameworks for developing partnerships

· Solid understanding of the TFI funding landscape, with proven skills in high-level relationship management with TFI partners.

· Proven experience securing significant fixed income through strategic partnerships.

Desirable criteria 

· Effective Communication skills, written and oral – including strong presentation skills.

· Building and sustaining effective working relationships both internally and externally.

· Demonstrated understanding of the broader charitable and fundraising landscape.

· Knowledge of the impact of poverty on vulnerable people in the UK and around the world
