Job Purpose
To provide confidential, accessible, and high-quality counselling support to students aged 16–18 and apprentices at Ada, the National College for Digital Skills. The counsellor will play a key role in promoting emotional wellbeing, resilience, and positive mental health to enable students to thrive academically, socially, and personally. Key Responsibilities
1. Direct Student Support
- Provide one-to-one counselling sessions to students and apprentices, including those experiencing mental health challenges, emotional distress, trauma, and/or personal issues.
- Deliver short-term, goal-focused therapeutic interventions based on students’ needs and referral pathways.
- Maintain appropriate and confidential records in line with safeguarding and data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR). Using the College’s CPOMS systems to record sessions.
2. Collaboration and Safeguarding

Person Specification
Essential:

Opportunity to pioneer work with children of all ages within the local community at an exciting Community Hub. The Rising Generation Pastor will oversee a team of children's and youth workers, supporting them in offering a wide range of groups and events.

Opportunities will include delivery of specialised interventions, taking direct referrals and helping to support & stabilise those at heightened risk and/ or living through mental health crisis, plus psychoeducation workshops and group programmes will further enable you to engage, empower & support participants to build confidence, develop skills, strategies & achieve goals to improve, maintain & best manage mental health, increase mental wellbeing, and reduce and/ or prevent future crisis.

This role has both national and regional responsibilities. You will play a key role in the progression and delivery of innovative national projects and lead specific areas of work related to our strategic objectives. In collaboration with national stakeholders, you will play an active role in identifying and influencing developing policy across the UK, looking for opportunities to enhance service provision and improve patient outcomes and experience through better provision of physiotherapy.
The CSP has a network of regional teams across the UK to support our members wherever they live, work or study. So, alongside a national role, you will join a regional multi-disciplinary team with CSP colleagues from policy, communications and the trade union to develop robust networks and engage members. This role therefore requires excellent communication, influencing and networking skills to enable members to understand, evidence and articulate the value and impact of physiotherapy to influence local decision-making.
It doesn’t stop there. You will be part of a team of professional advisers who provide peer support and a professional advice service to CSP members. You will be a Christian, qualified accountant with proven experience as an international finance leader, having implemented new systems and worked across multiple jurisdictions. Experience of the charity/humanitarian sector and an understanding of the complexities of in-country programme management would be beneficial. An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to join the Employee Relations and Union Services in the CSP as a full time Senior Negotiating Officer (SNO) for the South East Coast. This is a challenging, but very enjoyable role which will see you:
- Supporting, advising and training the network of stewards, safety representatives and equality representatives in the South East Coastal region.
- Advising and supporting stewards to manage their own casework, whilst managing your own caseload of employment relations issues, including but not limited to dicisplinaries, grievances, sickness absence, HCPC and legal cases.
- Attending and representing the CSP at strategic regional forums such as regional Social Partnership Forums and Integrated Care Boards/Integrated Care Systems.
You will be working in a wider team of Senior Negotiating Officers and organisers, whilst also working in a cross directorate fashion to deliver on the local priorities for members.
We are looking for an individual with significant experience and a background in the trade union movement. They should be dedicated to achieving the best outcomes for members and to building the membership and activism levels in the CSP.
You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills with an ability to problem solve. You will also have experience in advocacy and representing members and have a thorough understanding of the current issues facing CSP members. You will also be expected to be able to display excellent trade union knowledge.
