About the role 

The focus of this role is to create and develop engaging marketing materials, from concept to delivery. You will be organised and manage your own workflow effectively delivering to required deadlines. 

• Play an integral part in the design process from conceptualising ideas to final development

• Collaborate with the marketing, PR, digital and Charity colleagues to create engaging designs

• Provide strategic brand guidance and creative direction across the organisation 

• Run design clinics and share insights and on best practice 

• Line managing the Charity Designer

This role is part of an exciting period of growth for the Community Fundraising team, with income increasing by over 200% over the past four years and supporter numbers rising by 165%. With a brand review and CRM migration also underway, this is an exciting time to join the MND Association!

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the delivery of community fundraising marketing activity, meeting recruitment and income targets
• Create and implement operational plans for the team including marketing and content
• Manage marketing campaigns through a mix of media from concept to delivery
• Work with digital and product teams to ensure marketing content is delivered efficiently and clearly
• Develop and manage supporter journeys across different media to ensure a consistent and engaging experience
• Keep community fundraising web pages up to date and user-friendly
• Promote and attend a variety of exciting fundraising events - including evenings and weekends
• Manage third-party relationships, including event suppliers, to support fundraising acquisition and recruitment activity
• Support budget planning and monitoring by reporting on performance and outcomes
• Maintain database records ensuring all relevant information about donors is promptly and accurately recorded

• Background in sales or account management and familiarity with campaign management ideally within fundraising

About Bristol Avon Rivers Trust (BART) 

Founded in 2012, the Bristol Avon Rivers Trust (BART) is a charity dedicated to restoring and protecting the rivers of the Bristol Avon. Guided by an evidence-based, ecosystem-wide approach, we focus on the health of the entire catchment, not just the rivers themselves. 

BART began as a grassroots effort driven by a shared passion for waterways. Today, with approximately 20 employees and an annual turnover of £1 million, we manage multi-year projects funded by diverse supporters to preserve and enhance the Bristol Avon catchment. 

We work with landowners, communities, businesses, farmers, water companies, councils and government agencies to protect and rejuvenate rivers, lakes, and estuaries, delivering benefits for wildlife, local economies, and people. Our efforts help reduce costs for farmers and water companies and enhance public health while addressing the climate and ecological crises. 

The post holder will join a growing, ambitious team delivering multi-benefit projects to protect and improve the Bristol Avon catchment, and the Trust Administrator will play a key role in supporting the smooth delivery of the Trust’s operations.

Job summary and purpose

The Trust Administrator is responsible for maintaining the core administrative functions of the Trust to ensure the smooth operation of the charity, enabling its mission to ensure healthy rivers for wildlife and people.

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, the Trust Administrator will work with a range of internal and external contacts to ensure routine business functions, human and physical resources, supporter and governance liaison are working well. The role will involve working closely with the Chief Executive, but also with other members of the team, Trustees, supporters and suppliers.

The role will require exceptional organisational skills, excellent interpersonal skills, an attention to detail, and working flexibly in an agile environment. Experience of organisational administration in the public, private or charity sector, and experience of HR, meetings administration and IT are essential while purchasing and negotiating with suppliers is desirable. A helpful and positive attitude is needed, as is a willingness to embrace flexible ways of working. Adherence to certain policies and procedures is essential, including requirements such as data confidentiality and upholding a culture of professionalism.

Whilst the role is predominantly aimed at internal support, including for Trustees and supporters, external liaison will be required with suppliers, funders, partners, and the public.

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and highly organised individual with excellent communication and analytical skills. You’ll enjoy looking for ways to optimise all elements of campaigns from creative, content and media testing and able to act as a key point of knowledge in this area. Experience of DRTV is required, with an understanding of individual giving fundraising KPIs, including in relation to: DRTV, print, telemarketing, email and landing pages. You will be confident working with data with attention to detail and accuracy, from briefing data criteria for emails to using excel to review and share results. You will also be able to engage wider stakeholders in our acquisition testing plan development, providing clear regular communication to update on progress and learnings. Most importantly, you’ll be keen to deliver insight and audience-led, best in class fundraising campaigns to help Brooke realise an ambitious acquisition growth programme. `

There will be frequent travel to our projects in the North East, and evening and weekend work will be needed to cover our projects. A full driving license and access to a vehicle for work purposes is essential for this rewarding role.

Main Duties

Financial Management

• Liaise with and provide financial information to the Diocesan Finance team as required.
• Prepare and manage the parish budget for approval by the Parish Priest and Finance Committee.
• Prepare quarterly accounts and reports for Finance Committee meetings and attend these meetings.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including income, expenditure, and bank reconciliation using the approved Diocesan Finance System (currently XERO).
• Oversee the collection, counting, and banking of offertory and other parish income, ensuring proper procedures are followed.
• Raise and process invoices, payments, and reimbursements in a timely and accurate manner.
• Prepare monthly and annual financial reports for the Parish Priest and Finance Committee, ensuring transparency and compliance with diocesan requirements.
• Support the Parish Priest in fundraising and stewardship initiatives, including second collections, campaigns, and appeals.
• Promote and ensure the routine availability of digital giving platforms for donors, including online and planned giving routes.
