Approved Premises (APs) work with high-risk people released from prison, providing a vital element in public protection arrangements. APs offer a level of contact, support and supervision within the community that is unique within the Criminal Justice System. This is an opportunity to be part of a dedicated, enthusiastic staff team at our male Approved Premises in Battersea, playing a key role in pro-social modelling, rehabilitation and community reintegration for those ready to make positive choices.

Working closely with Probation Officers and other community services such as police, health, housing and substance misuse, we provide a stepping stone from prison into the community.

As a member of the Approved Premises team, you will model pro-social behavior and foster a positive, respectful culture with both clients and colleagues. You will actively engage with residents, supporting communal activities such as meal preparation, and contribute to the delivery of individual sentence plans in collaboration with probation officers, police, and external agencies.

Your role will involve providing administrative and practical support, ensuring daily tasks are completed, and following all operational protocols. You will encourage compliance and enforce rules relating to curfews and drug and alcohol testing as required. Keeping colleagues, multi-agency partners, and management informed is essential.

You will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining the health, safety, security, cleanliness, and well-being of the premises and residents, utilizing tools such as CCTV, observation, and direct personal contact. Accurate, timely record-keeping and appropriate information sharing with respect for confidentiality are critical components of this role.

Using your initiative, you will identify and address additional tasks or emerging issues, working within the service to maintain an enabling environment. Adherence to the Approved Premises Manual, Hestia policies, and relevant justice service requirements is expected, alongside consistently demonstrating The Hestia Approach.

This role involves working closely with high-risk offenders transitioning from prison to community life, providing a unique level of daily support, supervision, and tailored interventions. You will empower residents to take responsibility for themselves while maintaining appropriate boundaries and supervision. The position operates on a rolling rota covering early, late, weekend, and night shifts to ensure continuous support and public protection.

About the role

The resettlement team provides advice and support for refugees on resettlement and relocation schemes to help them access services and mainstream provision and establish community links. Working closely with local stakeholders and in partnership with other voluntary sector agencies running similar services across the UK, the Refugee Council resettlement team promotes both the integration and independence of this group.

The Refugee Council work in partnership with Migration Yorkshire and Local Authorities across Yorkshire and Humberside to deliver the regional Resettlement programmes including the UK Resettlement Scheme, Afghan resettlement programmes (ARAP and ACRS), VPRS and VCRS. The resettlement team provides advice and support for resettled refugees to help them access services and mainstream provision and establish community links. Working closely with local stakeholders and in partnership with other voluntary sector agencies running similar services across the UK, the Refugee Council resettlement team promotes both the integration and independence of this group.

The Refugee Council work in partnership with Migration Yorkshire and Local Authorities across Yorkshire and Humberside and Bassetlaw to deliver the regional Resettlement programmes. The Senior Resettlement Worker will work closely with the management teams in Migration Yorkshire and the relevant Local Authorities. The Senior Resettlement Worker will work with the Area Manager co-ordinate the work of the resettlement teams in South Yorkshire.  Along with the Area Manager Senior Resettlement Workers are responsible for the line management Resettlement Workers, who deliver direct services to clients and support with complex cases including safeguarding.

The South Yorkshire Resettlement Team works from the Sheffield office. This role will involve a hybrid of home and office work with outreach in the community. The role involves work across South Yorkshire including Doncaster, Rotherham, Sheffield and some work in Bassetlaw.

The Deputy Contract Manager is responsible for the operational management of our specialist customer focused support services across the service. You must be able to work both independently and as part of a team, including supporting the induction of peer staff and volunteers. An awareness of lone working and health and safety practices is important, alongside motivation to uphold professional standards and use management and peer support to maintain resilience. Good IT, literacy, and numeracy skills are essential, including proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, and email communication.

With good IT, literacy, and numeracy skills, you confidently use systems such as MS Word, Outlook, and online tools to manage records and communication. You handle challenging behaviour calmly and professionally, maintaining a non-judgemental and anti-discriminatory approach at all times.

Flexible and dedicated, you are willing to work early, late, and occasional weekend shifts to meet service needs. You have a strong understanding of safeguarding and act appropriately to protect clients. Above all, your solution-focused mindset, collaborative attitude, and optimism about recovery enable you to empower clients to make positive, lasting changes.

You must also be confident to cook a Sunday Roast for a group of service users.

• Monitor safeguarding concerns and liaise with the Operations Manager/Director as needed
• Contribute to the delivery of the Volunteer Preparation Courses
• Contribute to recruiting, selecting and preparing suitable volunteers
• Support the evaluation of the impact of HSH’s volunteering programme and family support
• Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with key health partners, including those from Parent Infant Mental Health Teams, Midwifery, IAPT, Perinatal Teams, Health Visiting and other groups

CJO’s Women and Families VAWG Service aims to provide a cohesive family and specialist support for vulnerable women and families of Caribbean/African heritage experiencing violence and present with complex layering of issues. We assist women and families through 1-1 advocacy, counselling, and therapeutic group support to increase wellbeing, reduce risk and increase safety.  The service provides social and learning opportunities for women and families alongside meeting their immediate needs.

Job:Women & Families VAWG Specialist Service Manager

Location:London     Salary:£40,000 per year, pro rata    Part Time/3 days weekly   Contract:  5 years

The Role

To manage and develop the delivery of the CJO VAWG service for African heritage women and families escaping violence and its impact through advocacy and therapeutic services.  You will be responsible for managing your team of domestic violence workers whilst working synergistically with our clinical lead and social work support to achieve the best outcomes for the women and families who access our service.

As a member of the senior management team, you will have a strategic focus and lead on safeguarding to protect women and their children. You will have both an internal and external focus of influence with local and national stakeholders including statutory services and funders to ensure a co-ordinated community response and service for African heritage women and families.

About You

As a strong communicator, you will bring your understanding and know how to support and navigate the criminal justice systems in relation to VAWG.  Able to work independently and prioritise a busy workload.  An effective communicator who is innovative with experience of managing, growing, and developing your team.  Excellent team player willing to get involved and support service users and staff, no matter the task or activity.

Key Objectives Within the Overall Purpose of the Post:   

The management of CJOs VAWG women and family’s specialist service ensuring it meets the needs of African Heritage women and families, is contract compliant with the service specification and the charity’s policies and procedures.

1. To lead and effectively manage the finance in line with the grant and annual budget.
2. Lead on and participate in national, local discussions, consultation, research, monitoring and evaluation, needs assessment, collaboration, networks, to sustain and grow the women and family specialist service and any other activity relevant to deliver the service.
3. Represent the service and organisation at both internal and external meetings and within multi-agency partnerships.
4. Lead on and facilitate monitoring and evaluation activities, which supports the voices of service user and their data, to inform legislation, policy, and practice, identifying synergies across the organisation’s work as well as opportunities to produce and share learning.
5. Facilitate a range of training for; professionals, service users, staff, volunteers, external audience to improve practice and service delivery.
6. Communications - directly produce, facilitate publicity and marketing material for the service, appropriately using social media e-leaflets, paper booklets etc to increase knowledge, awareness, skills, and the impact of VAWG on the lives of women and families.
7. Ensure written language is to good quality standard including emails and all other record keeping and documentation required of CJOs work.
8. Ensure that the service is delivered within safeguarding practice and safe standards as per our quality mark.

Monitoring & Evaluation

• Contribute towards and/or write comprehensive reports that may include data, narratives, and case studies as required by funders, commissioners, CJO and others.
• Oversee the management of the Oasis database undertaking quarterly audits and monthly monitoring of data collection for performance management of the service.
• Dip sample and audit case files as held on Oasis, ensuring staff are recording information and delivering services in line with Imkaan and other quality standards.
• Oversee the consistent use of the ‘Safe Lives’ risk assessment tool, alongside other developed risk mitigation templates.
• Ensure staff appropriately represent women and advocate on their behalf when dealing with outside agencies such as the Housing department, Police, DSS, Solicitors, Social Services, Health Professionals, and all other relevant agencies.
• Document monitoring ensure that it is provided in the agreed and acceptable formats for  the VAWG women and Families Specialist Service  using standard templates.

Management of Service Finance

• Work closely with the finance team to oversee the income and expenditure of the service in line with all policies and procedures of the organisation, contract, policies and procedures relevant to CJOs funded work.  
• Ensure that small grants woman receive are appropriate working closely with finance, social work students and support worker(s) or volunteer.
• Take full ownership of strategic fundraising for the service, identifying funding sources and making direct applications, alongside the Director and fundraising team.  

Wellbeing

• Ensure the service is delivered within CJOs Community based approach to Wellbeing and that a therapeutic approach is embedded in your practice.
• Attend regular clinical supervision
• Ensure that your staff team attend regular clinical supervision.
• Lead and manage the Thinking Space facilitator and bi-weekly debriefs alongside working synergistically with CJOs Clinical Lead.

Operational

• Along with your team, to always work in the best interest of CJO and to avoid any action that may bring CJO and or its activities into disrepute.
• To undertake any other duty commensurate with the position of Service Lead and as required by your line manager.
• To engage in one’s own performance management through training and development as required.
• As a member of the senior management team work to promote CJO’s purpose, values, and our influence through evidence-based solutions to improving the lives of vulnerable women and their family experiencing VAWG/trauma and to act-up/step in the absence of members of the senior management team or staff.
• Regularly supervise, appraise, and support the development of staff and volunteers addressing challenges and implement necessary support measures to improve performance with staff, external contractors, and agencies.
• Participate in regular supervision, induction, training, and team meetings.

• Develop appropriate partnerships, collaborations, and communications to enable our family support and gender-based violence services to be seen as a leader in its field.
• To be the lead registered officer for CJSM and Safeguarding Lead 
• On occasions to work on a Saturday where time in lieu will be given.

You are looking to develop leadership of intergenerational and/or Fresh Expression worship

What you'll be doing:

You will assist with development of activities for young people and the establishment of a youth outreach programme

You will assist in the development of Messy Church

You will work with the existing leaders of Messy Church (for families) to increase the opportunities for engagement, for example through holiday projects, after-school club activities or in Fresh Expressions (such as Forest Church)

You will plan and enable intergenerational social activities

You will develop relationships with children and families and provide a pastoral ear for connected families

You will build effective relationships with local schools

You will help develop “Vintage Messy Church” activities for older people which will lead to active participation in the worshipping community

You will participate in, and occasionally lead, Sunday worship and other aspects of Church life

In due course you will seek funding to sustain (and even grow) the outreach

You will share in other tasks as may be agreed between you and the Pastoral Support Group as opportunities arise

Outline Terms and Conditions

1. Appointment will be subject to a satisfactory Enhanced DBS disclosure and the taking up of no more than two satisfactory references.

2. Appointment will be subject to the satisfactory completion of a six-month probationary period.

3. The appointment will be for three years in the first instance (subject to the probationary period noted above),

4. The hours of work will be 20 hours per week, flexible by need and negotiation. It is anticipated that evening and weekend working will be part of the role, along with the main Christian festivals.

Our client provides supported accommodation for adults who have mental health needs and support for alcohol/substance use needs. Their clients have a mix of medium to high support needs and provide 24/7 support across two houses next door to each other, as well as floating support across 4 properties and sublets in Portsmouth. Thier sublet service support provides housing management support to clients living in self-contained units across the city to manage a tenancy independently. 

They are looking for a Mental Health Recovery Worker to join a small team that works collaboratively with clients to help them achieve positive outcomes. The Torbay Health and Wellbeing Voluntary Sector Network in Torbay is recruiting a full-time Manager to oversee the Torbay Community Helpline.

This post will be based in the local voluntary sector infrastructure organisation - Torbay Communities, hosts of the Community Helpline.  

We are seeking an exceptional individual to lead this nationally recognised and acclaimed innovation. Torbay’s Community Helpline was established during the Covid pandemic and has since been developed by the local community into a central access point to the voluntary and community sector as a whole. Since 2021, it has also been the front door for new Adult Social Care referrals in the area through a unique partnership with the local statutory sector. Providing the best possible support to local residents the Helpline’s strapline ‘One Call – That’s All’ sums up the holistic approach. Individuals and families can access a wide range of support from food parcels to mental health support, help with isolation to debt advice etc. The Helpline links into over 100 voluntary sector organisations locally and into grassroots networks of residents offering support to each other. The Helpline has a strengths-based approach to its operations, with callers often helping others after they have received some support.

We are looking for someone who can lead this initiative into the next phase. Someone with the relevant experience who can identify the Helpline’s potential and - working with staff, volunteers, voluntary sector and statutory sector partners - deliver excellent support to our residents and develop the Helpline to meet future needs.
