We are looking for a Domestic Abuse Support Worker to join an exciting partnership project in Stockport.
You will support victims of domestic abuse within the Stockport Borough offering a person centred and trauma informed package of support and advocacy.
The role
In this role you will complete risk and needs assessments with victims of domestic abuse who live in the borough of Stockport. You will liaise with referring agencies, actively contribute to risk management procedures and team working. You will carry out a large and varied range of practical support which may include safety planning, advocacy, risk assessment and risk management. We also offer emotional support to those people we work with, encouraging and supporting them to rebuild lost confidence and self-esteem. We are a consent driven service and therefore the needs of the person we are supporting is at the core of all the work that you will do.
As part of the Stockport Domestic Abuse Support team, you will also be supporting the partners of those who are undertaking behaviour change work on the Striving to Change Programme.
You will attend regular risk management meetings to ensure that both parties are fully supported and that the risk is appropriately managed.
About you
You will understand the impact that domestic abuse has on individuals, families, and wider society. You will be motivated to support people who have been impacted by domestic abuse and using person centred and trauma informed practice you will work to improve the experiences of all those impacted by domestic abuse.

Carolyn House Service provides housing and support to individuals experiencing mental health issues for up to two years. We promote social inclusion and develop life skills for independent living. We also work with several agencies and organisations in the local area to meet individual customers' needs. We support customers to build confidence in order to empower them to use community resources; we promote healthy lifestyles and wellbeing and offer customers choice and control over the activities they would like to participate in.
The service is staffed 24 hours 7 days a week. All customers referred to the Service are allocated a support worker who will provide guidance and support on a range of issues and help signpost customers to relevant services located in the Redbridge Borough.
The Post holder will be expected to work on a rota basis (Monday - Sunday) and two sleep-ins per week which attracts £30.00 extra pay.The shift patterns are 8.00 am - 4.00pm, 2.00 pm - 10.00 pm and sleep ins.

Hounslow Young People is Supported Accommodation Service for young people and young parents aged 16-25 in Hounslow. The Service encompasses a mix of units across six sites supporting 57 vulnerable young people and 19 teen parents. About the Role:
Waking Night Support Worker will work in line with person centred risk assessments; support plans and liaise with Support Workers to provide comprehensive handover and partnership working. Waking Night Support Worker will be able to carry out all necessary health and safety actions including light cleaning tasks and environment management. Campbell Rd Young Peoples service provides support and housing for 55 young people in Tower Hamlets that are either leaving care of affected by youth homelessness. Age UK Kensington & Chelsea offers dementia services which make a real difference to residents affected by the condition living in the Borough. Those services include advice, practical help, befriending, social activities and emotional support. The Dementia Support Worker is responsible for managing a caseload of individual clients, providing practical and emotional support to the most isolated and vulnerable in our community. 132 Assessment Centre is for single homeless men and women that have links within the borough. The accommodation provides 6 separate self-contained units with on suite bedrooms, and 1 bedroomed flat. The scheme is staffed 24 hours, with Night Support Workers and Concierge cover during the evenings.
The aim of the project is to assess the individual over a 12-week period with the aim of identifying their support and housing needs. In that period, we will provide a bed for the customer to assist staff to carry out a detailed assessment to ensure that the recommendation for move on into alternative housing is captured correctly to assist move on for the individual into more suitable accommodation which is correct reflective of their needs based on our assessment/recommendation.
The service operates a model of personalised approach in order to address a wide range of presenting complex needs, which could range from mild learning difficulties, substance use (alcohol and drugs), offending, mental health, dual diagnoses, etc. We work closely with outside agencies in order to ensure that the individual is linked into getting the correct support whilst they remain at the assessment centre.
A major part of the Assessment Support Workers role is putting in the foundation with our customers around basic living skills and preparing the individual to be ready to move into alternative supported accommodation.

Undertake initial and continuous assessment of needs including support needs and daily living skills. This would include potential risks and an assessment of the customers independent living skills as a whole.
The initial and co-produced assessment will incorporate models of co-production, observation, and person-centred planning. This is with a view that it is solution focused as to provide a framework for progression towards independent living.
Liaise with partner agencies regarding the assessment process seeking advice and guidance as to specialist input and clinical input as part of multi-disciplinary assessment process.

Empower customers to be part of the local community and active participants in the local community as part of a Recovery Capital model.

They will be observant of changes in behaviour and presentations ensuring appropriate actions are taken to document and report changes in support needs of young people. Waking Night Support Worker will be able to carry out all necessary health and safety actions including light cleaning tasks and environment management. Furthermore they will actively seek out ways to work with the team and stakeholders to improve the experience of young people in the service. The role requires individuals to work on a rota pattern including weekend and bank holiday working, as the service is open 365 days a year. Hours worked: 21:30 - 07:30.

What you'll do:
Ensure the welfare of customers providing emotional and practical support to customers who are in distress, in crisis or require medical assistance such as emergency first aid or the intervention of medical professionals.
Remain calm and professional when dealing with emergencies and incidents following the reporting procedures and completing the required paperwork.
Ability to work empathically and compassionately with customers who present with complex needs such as mental health, substance misuse, safeguarding and physical health support needs.
