Say Aphasia is a charity supporting people living with aphasia—a language and
communication disability that can affect a person’s ability to speak, understand, read, or
write, often caused by stroke or brain injury. Our local support groups offer a safe,

Role Overview
We are seeking a volunteer marketing expert to help design and deliver creative
marketing strategies that strengthen our fundraising campaigns. Your expertise will help

Gatwick Aviation Museum is seeking enthusiastic and flexible Volunteers to join their coffee shop team on a regular basis, either Friday, Saturday or Sunday each week. Job share would be considered.

Gatwick Aviation Museum is a registered Charity and welcomes a wide variety of visitors each year, who are able to enjoy the varied collection of incredible aircraft and exhibits on display.

The Museum is currently open to the public on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays 10am to 5pm, although we regularly welcome groups of all ages for tours and events during the week or in the evenings. We also host a number of different events throughout the year from car shows to cinema nights and open for extended periods during the School holidays. So additional cover in the coffee shop would be required to help out during those busy times.

We want every visit to our museum to be a very special one. As our visitor numbers increase, we need the support of additional volunteers to join our friendly team who go out of their way to ensure our customers have a memorable experience. Duties will include:-

• Welcoming customers with a friendly attitude;
• Serving hot and cold food and drinks to customers;
• Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in all areas, including equipment;
• Using till and processing payments, handling card and cash transactions;
• Ensuring stock on display is replenished, maintaining inventory levels reporting any shortages to the Manager;

You don't need prior experience as training will be provided (including Level 2 Food Hygiene and Safety, First Aid, Fire Safety). Just bring your enthusiasm, be keen to learn and feel confident in a customer facing role. An enhanced DBS check will also be carried out.

Stepping Stones Learning and Leisure is a small, friendly charity based in Southwark, providing inclusive activities for adults with learning disabilities. What is the role?

Our handling collection at RAF Museum is a valuable resource used by schools, families, community groups, subject specialist groups, and others. The opportunity to interact with real objects from the past is a powerful way to learn about and connect with the RAF story.

Working with the Royal Air Force Museum’s Handling Collection based at our London site, you have the opportunity to assist the documentation and reorganisation of our 3-D objects and clothing items.  This will help staff, volunteers and external users to gain greater access to this part of the collection. Your contribution will also help the relocation of these items to a better storage environment for their longer-term survival. Also gain an understanding of how handling objects are used in a museum environment to increase our audiences understanding and enjoyment of the RAF story.

What will I be doing?

• Cataloguing collections data on a spreadsheet and writing information cards

• Carefully packing, storing and labelling collection items

• Colour coding, theming and labelling storage boxes

• Identifying any needs for remedial conservation and cleaning

• Preparing objects and completing forms for external contractors and borrowers.

This role will be undertaken on site within the RAF Museum’s offices and stores, with staff supervision. It will involve infrequent lifting of some heavy boxes and climbing on a set of low foldable steps. Thames Reach Housing is the registered provider subsidiary of Thames Reach Charity, a leading London-based charity with a particular focus on rough sleeping, and helping people who are, have been, or are at risk of rough sleeping to find decent homes, build supportive relationships and lead fulfilling lives. The charity provides innovative services aimed at preventing rough sleeping, intervening where people are sleeping rough, and helping people to recover from the impact of life on the streets. As well as street outreach work, services include tenancy support, emergency shelters, day services, hostels and accommodation, and help with health and employment. We work across London and South East England.

Thames Reach Housing completed the process of registration with the Regulator of Social Housing in February 2023 and has taken ownership of one of the hostels managed by Thames Reach Charity. Becoming a registered provider offers the opportunity to consider the transfer of other hostels and supported housing schemes where this is the best way to secure their future; as well as possible ownership of new hostel and supported housing developments where revenue funding is available.

The group has just over 400 employees and around 150 volunteers, and our turnover is around £28 million per year. The employees at the hostel which is owned by Thames Reach Housing are employed by Thames Reach Charity under a local authority contract. Thames Reach Housing therefore does not have any direct employees and its key function as the owning registered provider is to ensure the delivery of high-quality accommodation that supports the work carried out by Thames Reach Charity.

Thames Reach Housing has an effective and experienced non-executive board. They are supported by group sub-committees shared with Thames Reach Charity with a focus on the specific areas of Governance and People, Finance, Audit and Fundraising, and our Services. The Board meets around four times a year and participates in an annual group awayday in the autumn. There are currently three board members; one Thames Reach Housing Board member is shared with the Thames Reach Charity Board, and acts as the link between the Finance, Audit and Fundraising and Governance and People sub-committees. We are able to provide governance support and training to new Board members and you would be joining a board with considerable governance experience aligned with a competent Thames Reach Charity senior team to support you in your role.

We are currently seeking qualified, women solicitor, barrister and qualified legal executive volunteers to provide legal advice on our Family Law advice line. All volunteering is done remotely and you must be qualified to practice in England and Wales.

What will you be doing?

We offer a safe space for women to talk about their situation and receive expert legal advice to enable them to make important decisions about their future.

For 50 years our free telephone advice lines have provided vital legal advice for women experiencing  domestic abuse on issues such as protective orders,  child arrangements, finances and divorce or separation.

We ask all our volunteers to:

• Provide advice on our advice lines for one 2-hour session a month (minimum);
• Attend the induction training session provided by Rights of Women;
• Give clear and accurate legal advice to callers;
• Be non-judgemental and non-discriminatory in their approach;
• Follow our procedures for making records of calls and obtaining monitoring information;
• Keep up to date with the law for the relevant advice lines;
• Attend all agreed advice line sessions (remotely);
• Inform us as soon as possible if they are unable to attend an agreed session;

Chatterbox Befrienders offer one-to-one telephone support and will call a client once a week offering companionship and a listening ear for an individual who might otherwise go unheard. Chatterbox volunteers befriend a variety of people including carers, socially isolated individuals who are struggling with loneliness, people with ill health and those that 
have been bereaved.

- Liaising with the Chatterbox Coordinator on a regular basis regarding the service, as well as discussing personal learning and development needs

- Respecting service standards, appropriate boundaries and recognising the range of policies and procedures that impact on befriending vulnerable adults
