What you’ll do

ShareAction’s Financial Sector Research team works towards holding financial institutions accountable for their impact on globally important challenges such as tackling climate change, upholding human rights and reversing biodiversity loss.

Asset managers, insurance companies and banks hold a huge amount of influence over the world’s largest companies through their investment and underwriting activities. Our reports rank many of the world’s largest financial institutions on their approach to environmental and social issues, pushing for and facilitating change in the financial sector.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Lead the delivery of our 2026 benchmark of some of the world’s largest insurance companies (following our 2024 report), using your project management and research skills to ensure timely delivery of a high-quality publication and support the development of junior researchers in the team.
• Coordinate with civil society allies, executing the survey in collaboration with external partners for the first time, as well as continuing to work synergistically with other leading global NGOs.
• Present our work externally and engage with financial institutions, regulators, and industry bodies to provide detailed recommendations for improvement, supporting parallel workstreams on our benchmarks of asset managers and European banks.

Leading a small team of dedicated researchers within the Financial Sector Research team, you will support the Head of the team to ensure delivery of the insurance sector benchmark, one of ShareAction’s key reports ranking financial institutions. This involves organising the team to collect information from institutions and databases, analyse quantitative and qualitative data, produce engaging graphics to communicate results and translate this analysis into actionable steps for financial institutions to take. You would collaborate with teams across ShareAction and strengthen connections with other NGOs and external experts to ensure the rigour of this research.

This is a very exciting time to be joining the team. ShareAction is currently reviewing our strategy for work on the insurance sector, and this role therefore presents an opportunity to help shape the dialogue on how the benchmarks connect with engagement and campaigning expertise in ShareAction to achieve maximum impact.

The Director of Finance and Resources is responsible for managing the charity’s finances efficiently and accurately, ensuring that all financial activities are carried out in compliance with statutory, regulatory and contractual requirements. In this key role you will be responsible for assisting the Senior Negotiating Officer to manage and support our stewards, safety and equality representative networks across West Midlands and part of Cheshire, advising them in providing individual and collective industrial relations support to members, working both in and outside of the NHS. You will also be expected to spend approximately 25% of your time, managing cases from across the UK, but predominantly from nearby regions.

The postholder will work in collaboration with other health trade unions across the region.

You will work with the CSP regional team to recruit and organise members, influence on local workforce issues and promote physiotherapy.

You will provide representation for members at disciplinary hearings, grievances and disputes with employers, and provide general advice and information to representatives and members on issues such as pay, terms and conditions, and employment legislation.

With significant trade union experience at a senior level, and an understanding of NHS structures and government policy on health, you will have excellent communication, negotiation, training and presentational skills, combined with a strong collaborative approach and a thorough understanding of, and commitment to, equality and diversity principles and the ability to put them into practice.

The Role

This is an exciting role joining a Programme Team of 15 staff based throughout the UK. You will work closely and collaborate with the other Network Managers and share some priorities across regions, working to develop the region as a whole. The purpose of this role is to facilitate good relationships between the mentors and mentees in the region. 70-80% of the role is about relationship building (with schools, mentors and partners), coordination and the tracking/ administration of those relationships. 15-20% of the role is direct delivery with the girls in the region.

Mentoring programme

• Manage overall success of the cohorts (groups of mentees and mentors) in your region, including coordinating and administering events and communications for cohorts in your area.
• Deliver engaging on-boarding sessions for mentees.
• Design and deliver events and workshops for mentees.
• Deliver matching of mentees and mentors at in-person events or virtually.
• Work with the wider programme team to train mentors.
• Support mentors once matched through regular check-ins, monthly emails and ad-hoc conversations.
• Collect data to track the progress, and impact of, mentoring relationships.
• Support mentors with safeguarding concerns, following The Girls’ Network process in line with our child protection policy.
• Develop effective relationships with schools, on-boarding, supporting and retaining the partnerships.

Partnerships

• Work with the Senior Network Manager in your area to identify professional partnerships and sponsorship with local and national businesses.
• Work with your Senior Network Manager to identify a recruitment and retention plan for your area including key partners to work with.
• Be an active presence in the community, attending events and networks to encourage local women to mentor on our programme.

• Advocate The Girls’ Network at every opportunity, through local media, PR activities and social media.

We are now seeking an experienced and passionate Trust & Foundation Fundraising Manager on a 3-month fixed-term contract to take the lead on securing high-value grants that will make a real difference to ocean conservation. Our client is a fast-growing charity using the power of football to change lives. They run accessible, high-quality football programmes for thousands of young people across London, regardless of their background or ability to pay.

In just six years, they’ve grown from a bold idea to reaching 6,000 young people every week. Their ambition is to reach 20,000 by 2028. To get there, they need a strategic operator to lead the next phase of their growth.

They’re looking for a Director of Programmes with a proven ability to scale services, build systems that support consistent delivery, and ensure quality is never compromised. This is not a frontline delivery or coaching role, it’s a senior leadership position that combines strategic oversight, operational rigour, and cultural leadership.

You may come from a background in large-scale event operations, network-based service models, or high-growth commercial environments where building for scale was central to your role. Are you passionate about improving safety and security for NGOs around the world? Join GISF as our new SRM Technical Adviser and help shape the future of NGO security risk management.

We’re looking for someone with solid, hands-on experience in NGO safety and security—someone who knows the field, understands the challenges, and wants to make a difference. You’ll be a confident relationship-builder, comfortable navigating both the NGO and commercial worlds, and keen to turn research into real-world tools.

What you’ll be doing

• Lead technical development: Create, update, and promote GISF’s technical guides and tools—making sure they’re relevant, practical, and genuinely useful for NGOs of all sizes.
  • Provide expert input into GISF’s research projects, ensuring technical accuracy and real-world applicability.
     
• Deliver training and workshops: Design and run training sessions for a wide range of participants, from INGO Security Directors to national NGO focal points.

About the role:
Reporting to the Head of Programmes, you’ll lead the development and implementation of the M&E strategy, tracking impact across global tea programmes, strengthening data quality, and promoting organisational learning. Job Purpose

We are looking for a Marine Scientist to play a substantive role to support all of Oceana’s UK campaigns. Research, science and data are at the heart of Oceana’s UK work, underpinning our policy positions, creating campaign moments and answering key questions with new research.

The successful candidate will write and project manage research to unlock key campaign questions relating to overfishing, habitat protection and energy in particular, as well as other potential campaign areas in future. They will also work to increase Oceana’s presence within the academic community, attending relevant conferences and meetings and seeking future collaborations on topics of interest.

The Scientist will report to and be supported by the Director of Policy and Research, and work closely with science colleagues across the Oceana global network and beyond. Eligible candidates should have some experience in conducting research, including analysing data, but we’re equally looking for passion, motivation and a drive to protect the ocean. You should be a self-starter, with a strong ability to work independently and as part of a small but growing team.

Role Overview

• Support the delivery of Oceana’s campaigns, working with the Director of Policy and Research and relevant campaign teams.
• Research, draft and/or review content for Oceana’s scientific reports and other external communications, with particular attention to scientific accuracy.
• Gather evidence to support Oceana’s UK campaigns, including analysing primary and secondary data, conducting literature reviews and creating position papers.
• Commission and project manage research from external partners as needed, managing relationships through the duration of any projects.
• Work closely with the Oceana HQ Science and Strategy team and other scientist colleagues in the Oceana network to gather insights, inspiration and knowledge.

Candidate Requirements

Education and work experience

• Degree, ideally masters-level, in environmental, fisheries or marine science, or a related field.
• Familiarity with marine and climate issues, regulations and policies in the UK, as well as with key institutions and decision-making processes.
• Experience writing or commissioning primary or secondary research and associated materials summarising the work.
• A passion for UK seas and delivering a healthy ocean in general.

Skills and knowledge

• Familiarity with UK marine and fisheries policy and science.
• GIS and database proficiency, including basic knowledge of GIS mapping and statistical analysis.
• Strong project management skills, with experience managing multiple workstreams and projects effectively to time and budget.
