This role is key for helping us transform for the future - and help more families! Focusing on actively engaging potential partners and prospects, this role plugs a capacity gap in our small fundraising team. With a small (cold) pipeline in place, a new CEO actively out and about and engaging, we need support to translate the opportunities into income.

Our ambitions are high - we’d love one of the “big ones” (you know, the ones we all dream about with supermarkets and banks). But honestly? We’re realistic. We need multiple partnerships at different levels to have a stable base. However, we’re also ambitious to take a risk on some of the higher-value options, too.

To help us with our opportunity (and yes, challenge), you’ll have experience of working across corporate partnerships and income generation - ideally in the charity space. You’ll be able to demonstrate a track record of securing deals at multiple levels, and of being creative in your pitches and approaches. And you’ll be able to help us get to the next level in terms of our offer, engagement and pipeline for the future. This is a really great opportunity for us to co-create what needs to happen next for us - where can you add value to what we need to be happening!

We’re a small but flexible team - just like our approach to work. This is a freelance role, ideally for 3 days per week until Christmas with a start ASAP but we’re flex on that too - what's your availability? How can you help?

About the Role

As Team Leader, you will be directly involved in managing a 4 bed specialist short stay Home and looking after children aged 12 to 18 years old with complex needs; including Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD), Mental Health Disorders, Substance Dependencies and Learning Disabilities.

Whether shift leading or joining in with daily activities, you will also share in the leadership of the team, helping to develop staff by modelling high standards of professionalism. 

The successful candidate will have:

• Level 3 Diploma in Residential Child Care or equivalent
•  GCSE English and Maths grades A-C.
• One year’s experience working at a level of responsibility with children and young people in a residential setting.
• An understanding of the regulatory framework relating to the provision of residential services for children and young people.
• Good understanding of the needs and risks regarding children in care.
• An understanding of trauma  informed practice.
• Experience of taking on leadership responsibilities in a teamwork setting.
• Ability to build genuine and trusting relationships with young people maintaining at all times high personal and professional standards.
• Excellent communication and team working skills.
• Ability to work shifts, including alternate weekend working and occasional sleep ins.
