The Opportunity
This is a critical interim appointment, ensuring accurate, timely and compliant year-end financial reporting. The successful candidate will work closely with senior stakeholders to deliver robust statutory accounts and maintain high standards of financial governance.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead preparation of statutory accounts and year-end reporting packs

Role Overview

ESU Competition Leads host our ESU competitions, including the ESU Schools’ Mace Debating Competition, the ESU Public Speaking Competition and the ESU Performing Shakespeare Competition. The ESU Competition Lead is responsible for ensuring the smooth running of events (heats) throughout the competitions, with duties including Zoom hosting and MCing. If required, Competition Leads may sit on the judges’ panel and provide constructive feedback to students and teachers participating. You will also support and provide guidance for our volunteer judges, ensuring they have a positive experience while volunteering with the ESU. Responsibilities

 For all competitions you will:

• Support and promote the charitable objectives of the ESU, acting as an ambassador for the organisation
• Assist the ESU Competitions Team in ensuring competition heats run smoothly and act as point of contact for schools and volunteers on the day of heats
• MC or compere Zoom and in-person heats, engaging both students and audience whilst following ESU scripts
• Be the technical host for Zoom ESU competition heats, setting up and hosting Zoom meetings, creating break-out rooms and acting as tech support throughout heats

Essential criteria:

• Be over 18 years of age and have the right to work in the UK

The CCSA is the trade association accelerating the commercial deployment of Carbon Capture, Utilisation and Storage (or CCUS) through advocacy and collaboration.  Our ambition is to see CCUS developed and deployed at the pace and scale necessary to achieve net zero emissions by 2050 and deliver sustainable growth across regions and nations. We represent a wide variety of organisations with an interest in CCUS across many applications to decarbonise heavy industries, power, and hydrogen production, and remove carbon dioxide directly from the atmosphere.

The CCSA operates as a not-for-profit company, overseen by a board of elected members. We have 20 staff across our London & Brussels office. We turnover around £3m. Our income comes from membership fees from our 120 members and sponsorship at our conferences.

The CCSA has grown by 100% over the past few years, as we have grown in profile and impact supporting the developing industry across Europe. For maximum impact we have focused on delivery, however, we are now looking at enhancing some of our internal systems including our finances. We have a UK registered company and a Belgium registered company, external accountants and bank accounts for each and a recently dedicated internal finance resource. We have some support from outsourced finance support, we anticipate this would continue, at least initially. In terms of accounting packages, we use Xero in the UK and Yuki in the Belgium office.

The role
We are a dynamic organisation looking for a part-time finance manager. We have put some structures and processes in place, but we are looking for somebody that will enjoy improving finance processes and helping make things easier for our teams in both offices. The role will be a stand-alone finance role without any admin support, so we are looking for a self-starter who works independently and is both strategic and operational and won’t mind invoicing/chasing debt.

The role will be managed by the CEO and other members of the senior leadership team.

Responsibilities

Finance management

• Preparation of accurate and timely monthly management accounts, including reconciliation across both UK and BE offices accounting systems and comparing the forecast out-turn for the year against budget
• Assisting with the preparation of the finance update for the quarterly board meeting working with our two external accounting firms
• Cash monitoring and reporting
• Working with senior managers to produce an annual budget with quarterly re-forecasting
• Supporting the CEO with documents/reporting for the quarterly Board and Finance and Risk Committee meetings
• As finance controller, develop and enhance the CCSA’s finance processes, compliance and systems, especially using tech solutions
• When required, liaise with the external auditors, ensuring that timescales are communicated and agreed, and the auditors’ requirements are met to ensure timely completion of their work

Finance operations

• Preparation and sending of sales invoices (c200 a year) and chasing aged debt
• Oversight of bill payments and expenses
• Process and post month-end journals
• Running the monthly UK and maybe BE payroll including liaising with payroll providers
• Ensuring payroll taxes, VAT and other taxes are filed and settled on time.
• Act as a point of contact with accountants, banks, service providers, and suppliers
• Provide finance support to the wider staff team

Location/hours
This is a part-time role of 2.5 days a week (18.75 hours) and we are flexible as to how these are spread over the week. Purpose of the Role:

As a key leader within our Partnerships and Income Development team, you will be responsible for creating, developing and delivering the Social Mobility Foundation’s Employer Programme – how we inform, influence and positively impact employer-led social mobility, and a source of income generation.

Reporting to the Head of Partnerships and Income Development, you’ll be the custodian of the Social Mobility Employer Index (SMEI) – our annual benchmarking and assessment tool for how UK employers recruit, retain and develop talent from all socioeconomic backgrounds and build inclusive workplaces. You'll have full product ownership, managing the delivery lifecycle from end-to-end: from marketing, to pipeline development and entrant submissions, data analysis, reporting and evaluation, as well as ongoing development and improvement.

In addition, by collaborating with existing partners who offer pro-bono consultancy, you’ll scope, develop and deliver new products, resources and services that equip employers with the knowledge and practical tools to improve social mobility in the workplace.

About the Role

Inclusion Coordinator will design and deliver creative arts activities for young people, overseeing the programmes for the Sensory Room and Duty Management of the Sunday Beyond Session. As well as this, you will provide line management support, coaching and development for arts sessional workers in their areas. This role requires a minimum of 55% of working hours spent face to face with young people.

In the first 6 months, you will have:

• Supported the Youth Zone to achieve 1000 visits by young people a week, inspired by the continually changing & vibrant offer.
• Collaborated with the delivery team to ensure a vibrant & engaging programme is in place every session, planned 3 months in advance with input & co-creation with young people.
• Grown, recruited, developed & led the sessional inclusion youth work team to provide a supportive, safe, inclusive, and ambitious environment.
• Developed strong local SEN/D partnerships which result in direct benefit to the borough's young people.
• Introduced the OnSide Evaluation Framework alongside young people's feedback to enhance the quality of the support given to help young people's progression.
• Created progression pathways for young people to build on our 'practice, perfect and perform' model.
• Ensured volunteers & young leaders are well managed and supported.
• Helped to deliver an engaging Beyond session with up to 60 young people attending per session; ensuring that our members with additional needs are supported with our "All About Me" forms.

About You

With a relevant qualification in SEND or Youth Work Essential Evidence of ongoing professional development (for example Safeguarding, health & Safety, Management), you will have experience of delivering SEND activities to young people in-line with relevant guidance and good practice.

You will have essential, proven experience of working with young people aged 8 to 19 (up to 25 for those with additional needs) in a range of settings and experience of engaging vulnerable, disengaged or hard to reach young people in activities. We are also looking for someone with experience of managing a staff team, ideally including volunteers and with a strong commitment to safeguarding children.

We need someone with a willingness to work evenings and every Sunday morning and to cover events, holidays and staff absence

The Director of Development will be responsible for developing and achieving the organisation's income strategy, with particular focus on developing, prospecting, and building relationships with high value donors, corporates, financial advisors, and wealth management. As part of the Senior Leadership Team, this role will be a strategic Director, whilst also leading on key donor facing relationships. This role will be critical to leading and executing successful engagement strategies for both internal and external stakeholders, with the support of a small team of two.

The successful candidate will be able to evidence setting strategy and delivering successful high value income generation growth.
