What's the role about?

You’ll be joining the RSPB England Education, Families and Youth team and working on our regional partnerships with Girlguiding, particularly in North West England and with RSPB Project Officers to support the development and delivery of our funded project outputs.

Key tasks:

• Support the delivery of engaging training or workshops for young people, both in-person and online, helping them connect with nature and take meaningful action.
• Collaborate with Girlguiding volunteers and RSPB Project Officers to help develop a youth-focused nature and climate action toolkit.
• Plan and deliver a ‘nature discovery event’ for over 100 girls at a partner green space in Cumbria (4-5 Oct), working closely with Girlguiding to provide a smooth and enjoyable experience.
• Recruit, coordinate and support a team of volunteers to help deliver the partnership event and contribute to other project goals - ensuring they do their role well and has a great experience.
• Facilitate in-person ‘Running Outdoor Nature Sessions’ for Girlguiding trainers in North West England, enabling them to train more leaders.
• Support our partnerships with other Girlguiding regions, to expand opportunities for girls to engage with and advocate for nature across England.
• Collect data to track progress, measure impact and contribute to a project progress and evaluation reports.
• Oversee day-to-day procurement and budget tracking, ensuring resources are managed efficiently and aligned with project needs.

You will be supported in your role by the RSPB Project Officers and Education, Families and Youth Manager, England with opportunities to meet virtually with staff and volunteers, so you feel part of a team and learn about the work of the RSPB and Girlguiding. An induction and relevant training will be provided as well as support to further develop the skills needed for this role.

Essential skills, knowledge and experience:

• Experience in planning and delivering youth-focused engagement that connect children and young people with nature, supported by a strong understanding of safeguarding principles and health and safety practices essential for working in outdoor and online settings.
• Demonstrates the ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage time effectively to meet objectives without close supervision.
• Strong communication skills, able to build positive, collaborative relationships quickly with a wide range of stakeholders, including young people, volunteers, and partner organisations.
• Understanding of the value of volunteering, with experience in supporting and coordinating volunteers effectively.
• A solid understanding of the natural world, environmental issues, and practical actions that support nature conservation.
• Demonstrated experience in delivering projects in line with defined aims and objectives, including tracking progress and managing budgets using tools such as Microsoft Excel and Word,

Desirable skills, knowledge and experience:

• Experience in planning and delivering outdoor nature-based events for groups of over 80 more children and young people.
• Experience in designing and delivering engaging training sessions, workshops, or facilitated discussions for adults and/or young people that encourages meaningful participation and sharing learning.

Additional Information:

• An England role, flexible on working pattern and part of a remote team.
• The role holder will be a homeworker but must be based in the Girlguiding North West England region (Lancashire, Cheshire, Greater Manchester, Manchester, Cumbria, Merseyside, Sefton, Stockport or the Wirral). Travel is required within the North West.
• You will need to be available to run events/training at weekends and/or evenings.
• This is a 12 month fixed-term role for 22.5 hours per week.

The CMV Connect Project Coordinator role is designed to enhance the charity's outreach and support initiatives, focusing on building and maintaining relationships with healthcare professionals, families, and the broader community. The Community and Events Manager reports into the Fundraising Development Manager and is responsible for implementing a comprehensive community and events engagement strategy, coordinating all community, third party and St Giles Hospice organised events and managing relationships with key stakeholders.

You will have a passion for social impact, strong organisational skills, and a proven track record in event management and leadership. You will also be adept at working with volunteers, possess excellent communication skills, and have the ability to foster a collaborative team environment.

You’ll be an accomplished fundraiser with proven experience in achieving income targets. Building community networks regionally will be essential to the success of this post.

With a team of three reporting into you, you will have demonstratable management experience in a fundraising environment with the ability to delegate strategic and operational responsibilities accordingly within your team to maximise the fundraising growth strategy and allow for a strong return on investment.

The role of Chief Operating Officer is central to helping us achieve our ambitions, ensuring that Wild in the City has the resources, infrastructure and working environment to achieve its annual plans, long term aims and deliver high-quality programmes.

We are not expecting the COO to implement the key areas of operations alone, we will work together to prioritise and generate the resources to build a team to cover the functionality required for steady growth. We are also motivated to ensure that the role’s salary is reviewed to meet market expectations as the role grows, dependent on funding.

About the opportunity

We're in a fantastic position to have recently have partnered with the Education Endowment Foundation (EEF) for an evaluation of our programmes. 

We are now recruiting for a Programme Coordinator for our schools in Birmingham.

• The Birmingham Programme Coordinator oversees a caseload of up to seven partner schools. They manage the logistics and organisation of each school’s tutoring programme, working closely with the schools and pupils and managing the pool of volunteer tutors. They attend the weekly tutoring sessions at each school, as well as overseeing the quality of face to face and online tutoring, always working to deliver a great impact.
• The Birmingham Programme Coordinator supports the recruitment of volunteer tutors, manages the tutor sign up process, develops relationships with schools including their Senior Leadership Team and subject teachers, collects data for monitoring and evaluation purposes, and works with other internal teams on business development opportunities.

Duties and responsibilities 

• Responsible for the delivery of Action Tutoring’s tutoring programmes in partner schools, whether online or face to face. This includes working closely to manage all key stakeholders: schools, pupils and volunteer tutors; regularly attending weekly tutoring sessions; leading on reviewing and improving programme delivery, using data to reliably assess programme performance.
• Responsible for overseeing the quality of tutoring, engaging in quality assurance processes, and providing feedback to volunteer tutors to ensure effective and impactful delivery. Provide regular check-ins with tutors to ensure ample support and guidance is given to provide targeted tuition to pupils.
• Develop and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders in partner schools, including members of the Senior Leadership Team and subject teachers. Maintain clear and timely communication with relevant school staff, offering regular check-ins with key school stakeholders, and contribute to impact reporting to schools. Supporting the Programme Manager with strategies to retain and sustain school partnerships.
• Update and accurately maintain Action Tutoring’s database, including collecting timely data for monitoring and evaluation purposes, such as attendance records, baseline and interim assessments and pupil surveys. Reporting regularly on key performance indicators to key stakeholders and using them to enhance programme delivery. Work with the Programme Manager on business development, approaching new schools that might be interested in working with Action Tutoring.
• Proactively report to the Programme Manager on the details of Action Tutoring’s operations in their partner schools.

The nature of this role will also require you to demonstrate adaptability, resilience and the ability to cope with some uncertainty. 

This position would suit you if you’re looking to develop your experience in the education or charity sectors. Existing experience of working with young people and/or project management in a charity or education setting would be an asset. Are you passionate about music, inclusion and making a real difference?  The OHMI Trust is looking for someone to lead our Instrument Development programmes.  The heart of our mission is to make music truly inclusive for people with physical impairments and in this role you will be driving forward the development and delivery of adapted musical instruments.  It is creative, purposeful work and we are looking for someone who cares deeply about the impact that music can have.

Our team is looking for someone who lives and breathes our passion as much as we do and will put the work (and the miles) into bringing our mission to life. You will do this through:

• Developing a strategic approach in how we can increase the range of instruments and supportive apparatus available, working with instrument makers and technologists where necessary. 
• Identifying potential entrants for our OHMI Competition, which is where we challenge developers and instrument makers to adapt or create instruments that can be played without the use of one hand and arm.
• Supporting our OHMI Music-makers, a project that works with partner organisations to bring music lessons to individual students or a whole class by providing adapted instruments.
• Making sure we are communicating with our funders and Board of Trustees about our progress and impact.

And as a key member of the team, you will support us in promoting our great work at various key conferences and workshops.

No two days look the same here at the OHMI Trust, but a week could look like this:

· Arranging meetings with student groups working on instrument related engineering projects.

· Joining an online meeting to develop the strategy for overcoming a specific instrument production challenge.

· Writing an application for funding towards the next instrument/piece of equipment that is needed.

Hours: 18.75 per week, but flexible. Some weekend and evening work will be expected, as circumstances and opportunities require. This post is subject to a 6-month probation period.

Location: flexible within the UK – this is a home/remote working role but there will be travel throughout the UK and there is an advantage in being located within easy commuting distance of the West Midlands, where the rest of the staff are currently based.
