- Assist the District Secretary, Treasurer and Resourcing Mission Committee to prepare budget and circuit assessments for the District with reference to the District Mission Plan.
- Work with the District Secretary and Treasurer to prepare annual accounts for the District, including liaising with the auditors and helping to draft the Trustees’ Annual Report, particularly with regard to accounting practice and policies.
- Support the District Secretary as needed to ensure compliance with the Methodist Church and Charity Commission requirements, including supplying the information for HMRC P11D forms.
Payroll
- Ensure District employees’ and ministers’ payroll information is correct and liaise with the central Methodist payroll bureau so that staff are paid on time.
Administration of Bank Accounts
- Monitor cash flow and administer transfers between bank accounts.
- Set up approved payments in online banking and liaise with signatories to authorise these for payment.
- Liaise with the Treasurer and/or District Secretary on transactions with the Central Finance Board and Trustees for Methodist Church Purposes, preparing paperwork to facilitate drawdown of funds.
- Administer changes to banking mandates.
- Administer changes to Direct Debits and Standing Order instructions.
Receipts and Payments/Book-keeping
- Check invoices and expenses claims for accuracy, before sending to authorised persons for approval.
- Record all bank transactions for all bank accounts on a monthly basis.
- Produce monthly fund summaries, with detailed analyses.
- Provide monthly ‘sub-accounts’, where required, for specific projects
Other key tasks
- Manage the District’s Financial Record systems, including archiving information as necessary
- With the District Secretary, review and renew the District’s Insurance Policies.
- Maintain the District’s Asset Register.
- Other duties commensurate with the role as agreed with the District Secretary.

The Finance Manager role is a newly created role which is being introduced to strengthen the organisation’s financial management and control systems. The postholder will work across the breadth of the finance function preparing internal management accounts and external annual accounts.
In 2024, Cord changed its finance system to use Business Central. The Finance Manager will become the organisation’s main ‘admin’ user of the finance system. In the near-term, there will be a particular focus on rolling out further functionality of the system and developing financial policies and procedures.
The Finance Manager will have oversight of the UK finance function through the line management of the UK Finance Officer and will directly deliver on the international side of operations in the areas of donor compliance, programme financial management, partner financial monitoring, and reporting. The role will involve travel to international programme locations.

- To support the Head of Operations to provide finance team leadership, develop and deliver an annual finance workplan to ensure continual improvement, and to drive finance capacity across the organisation

As Voice 21 embarks on its ambitious next five-year strategy, we are looking to strengthen our team with a talented and ambitious Fundraising Manager. Your role will support the Head of Fundraising, CEO and wider team to develop new sources of high value support for Voice 21, working flexibly across trusts and foundations, corporate and philanthropic fundraising.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a knack for identifying funding opportunities and discovering new prospects. Where you’ll work: All Voice 21 staff work remotely and this is a home-based role. Regular travel to our central London office (by Victoria station) is expected for meetings. We’re seeking an organised, insightful, and collaborative Monitoring and Evaluation Officer to help strengthen the evidence base behind our work. About the role
Shelter has an ongoing partnership with a hero charity partner which is centred on building the UK’s financial resilience. Together we aim to break the vicious cycles that leave people with poor financial health and negatively impact their housing situation; through Shelter’s emergency services, piloting new programmes to challenge unfair systems, and empowering communities with their rights.
You will be leading on the evaluation of this partnership and will work closely with the service delivery teams across Shelter in England and Scotland. You will assess the impact of the work so far with a view to upscaling the partnership in future.
About you
You will have experience of using frameworks to monitor work quality and impact, using data to draw conclusions and make recommendations. Adopting a strategic approach, with knowledge of systems change, research analysis and experience of working with stakeholders, you will have strong problems solving skills and are able to use initiative to get things done. Living Streets has successfully obtained funding from the Welsh Government to deliver a further year of the national Walk To School programme – engaging 200 primary schools, 25 Early Years settings and 42 secondary schools until March 2026.
You will be part of a team providing remote and direct support to a pool of early years settings, primary and secondary schools across Wales. The School Coordinator will have a target to recruit schools to the programme and coordinate the planned distribution of resources and supporting materials. You will be responsible for engaging and retaining schools to as part of the communication plan and responding to any issues raised. On occasion you will be required to visit individual schools and re-engage schools through various activities such as pupil assemblies.
Good attention to detail and the ability to recruit, support and engage schools remotely will also be essential to this role.
