3. About the role
The Office and Fundraising Administrator is an important role within Save the Rhino, supporting key functions primarily within our Fundraising and Operations pillars.
Reporting to the Operations and Finance Lead, the Office and Fundraising Administrator undertakes a range of administration and finance tasks to support office management, financial management, and fundraising, and is one of the first points of contact for our supporters and members. The Office and Fundraising Administrator will need to work regularly with Microsoft Office documents, spreadsheets and presentations, and with our Salesforce-based supporter and donation management systems. The Office and Fundraising Administrator also supports the Fundraising Team with aspects of supporter engagement and manages SRI’s volunteer programme.
In addition, depending on the experience and interests of the successful candidate, there may be opportunities to develop other skill sets.

4. Key Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities of the Office and Fundraising Administrator are to:
- Work with the Operations and Finance Lead, including:
- recruitment and management of office volunteers and providing admin support to recruitment processes;
- financial administration, including importing and reconciling donations and other income, logging and banking cheques and cash;
- overseeing the management of SRI’s office, including booking annual inspections / tests, carrying out regular fire-safety checks, liaising with suppliers and contractors, and acting as the lead Fire Marshall;
- acting as a second point of contact with SRI’s IT contractors, maintaining logs of equipment and licence allocations, acting as an Administrator on some IT services (depending on experience), and inducting new team members on key SRI IT platforms;
- managing stocks of stationery, office consumables and equipment; assisting with booking work-related travel / accommodation for team members and volunteers, as well as occasional booking of external meeting rooms, venues etc.; assisting with administration of Board / subcommittee meetings, including diary management; and maintaining a log of SRI’s policies, and their review dates.
- Support the Community Fundraising Manager, including:
- managing communications with fundraisers; setting up appointments; assisting with event preparation and logistics; welcoming fundraisers when visiting the office; assisting with the recruitment of London Marathon runners;
- recruiting and managing event volunteers; creating and maintaining accurate records of fundraisers, donors and volunteers using SRI’s Salesforce CRM; and helping to set up fundraising and campaign pages on fundraising platforms.
- Support the wider fundraising team through:
- engaging with SRI’s members, including: sending out membership packs, responding to queries, and chasing failed payments;
- assisting with updating the online merchandise shop and creating bespoke stores for specific events, e.g. in schools;
- monitoring participation in SRI’s lottery, importing player information into Salesforce, and providing monthly reports to the local council; and updating records linked to legacies.

- answering general enquiries via the phone and main office inbox; receiving post; taking payments over the phone; taking notes of the weekly team meeting; and other tasks as needed and consistent with the role.

Role Purpose
The Operations Director is a critical leadership role responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective running of all operational aspects of Katherine Low Settlement. Operational Leadership & Organisational Strategy

The opportunity
As Learning Design and Assessment Manager you will play a key role in developing curriculum and content for our online courses, drawing on your experience and knowledge of teaching and learning to provide a coherent learning experience, ensuring that all content is of a very high quality and informed by the latest research and evidence. You will also support our accreditation function, designing assessments and supporting internal assessment and moderation processes.
There will be some flexibility in the role, meaning that we can tailor the work you will be involved with to suit your skillset. Working closely with colleagues in our Professional Learning and Accreditation Team, we expect that the Learning Design and Assessment Manager will:
- develop the curriculum and write and commission course content and materials for teachers and school leaders
- design training materials and, where relevant, directly deliver training and CPD to teachers and school leaders
- engage with education research to ensure the content and delivery of courses is informed by the best available evidence of effective practice
- design and develop assessments to support teacher certification and accreditation
- assess and moderate submissions; contribute to the ongoing development of robust assessment policies and processes

Office:

We are looking for someone with good interpersonal skills, who can welcome and listen to
prospective volunteers to find out their interests, skills and goals and match them with the
right volunteering opportunity.
You will work two days a week with Newham District Foodbank strategic partners to mobilise
volunteers across our three delivery sites, and one day a week to support volunteer
involvement across the rest of ACT. You will need to be able to think outside the box to spot
opportunities – across all our projects – to invite volunteers to join in with our mission,
whether that’s regular volunteering, one-off projects or using their skills to help us with
strategy or communications.
You will also need to be methodical, making sure references are taken up and DBS-checks
are completed, as well as tracking and recording volunteers’ training. To make this easier
you will help us implement the ‘Assemble’ volunteer management software across Newham
District Foodbank’s three partners.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Finance Manager with a community-based charity on a permanent, full-time basis. As Finance Manager you will report into the Chief Finance Officer and line manager the Finance Assistant. This is a key role within the Finance team with a varied brief to deliver financial services across the organisation.
Please note, hybrid working is in place with this organisation with a minimum of 3 days per week needed in the office.
As Finance Manager, you will:
- Take ownership of and oversee the entire Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes – from processing invoices to payment run or credit control
- Prepare month-end and management accounts. Monitoring budget performance, identifying and investigating variances
- Assist in the development of annual budgets and financial plans
- Prepare and file VAT Returns
- Liaise with other teams/departments across the charity and provide financial support, assistance and training
The successful applicant will:
- Have significant demonstrable experience in finance within the charity sector, in a similar role
- Have exceptionally strong Excel skills with the ability to maintain and develop complex spreadsheets
- Be at least part qualified (ACCA, ACA, CIMA etc)
- Have significant bookkeeping and accounting experience, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliation, VAT returns, month-end/management accounts
- Have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly organised individual to be responsible for our day-to-day office management. This is a pivotal role in keeping our office running smoothly and providing a welcoming and safe environment for staff and visitors.
The role
The person will report jointly to the BIICL Director and the Director of Governance and Operations and will carry out the following duties:
General Management
- Overseeing daily office operations and maintaining a professional, welcoming environment.
- Being the first point of contact for calls, visitors, and general office enquiries.
- Handling outgoing and incoming mail and deliveries and ensuring efficient distribution.
- Oversight of facilities and day-to-day liaison with building management to ensure facilities are well-maintained.
- Purchasing of office supplies, furniture and non-IT equipment.
- Maintaining and reviewing insurance policies (with Director of Governance and Operations).
- Managing building access control systems and office security.
- Acting as a fire marshal and assisting with Health & Safety compliance, including workstation assessments for new staff and first aid training requirements.
- Leading on arrangements for social and team activities, e.g. staff Christmas party and other team building activities.
HR Administration
- Maintaining staff personnel files and holiday and sick leave records.
- Day-to-day management of staff recruitment including placing of advertisements and arrangements for shortlisting/interviewing.
- Assisting in the induction of new staff, volunteers and visiting fellows including maintaining and updating the induction pack and ensuring any compulsory training takes place (with Director of Governance & Operations).
- Co-ordinating arrangements for annual staff appraisals.
- Co-ordination of BIICL’s Volunteer and Visiting Fellow programmes (with Director of Training).
- Day-to day liaison with WorkNest (external providers of employment law support) including annual review of policies, contract and Staff Handbook.
Executive and Governance Support
- Providing executive support to the BIICL Director, including diary management and correspondence, plus occasional assistance to Centre Heads.
- Acting as Secretary to the BIICL Management Board, including producing agenda, circulating papers and writing up action notes.
- Assisting with arrangements for major events such as the Annual Grotius and Weinrebe Lectures.
- Co-ordinating contributions to the Quarterly Research Bulletin.
- Other administrative assistance, as required.
Person specification
- Excellent organisational, administrative and communication skills.
- Ability to work professionally with senior figures outside the organisation.
- Proven track record as an Office Manager, or in a similar role, preferably with experience of working in a smaller organisation.
- A collaborative and collegial team player, with the ability to work flexibly across a range of areas.
- Can-do attitude with a high attention to detail.
- Good writing skills.
- Proficient user of office software (e.g. MS Office, Teams).
- Knowledge of health and safety standards and procedures.
