About the role
You’ll play a key role in shaping and delivering the charity’s strategy, ensuring all activities are aligned with its mission and objectives. You will focus on establishing project and performance frameworks, measuring impact, and driving continuous improvement across the organisation.
You’ll ensure that KPIs and outcomes are consistently met, aligning with the charity’s strategic aims and working closely with senior leadership and teams to optimise performance and impact.
What you’ll do
- Build and oversee a high-performing project delivery team, focusing on successful and efficient project execution across the charity.
- Establish and oversee a new PMO function, creating governance and performance frameworks, processes, and tools that ensure effective project delivery and performance measurement.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to define and track KPIs, ensuring they reflect the charity’s goals and measure both project performance and impact effectively.
- Lead cross-directorate collaboration, fostering strategic alignment and driving organisational impact.
What you’ll bring
- Extensive experience in project management, performance monitoring, and impact evaluation, ideally within the charity or non-profit sector
- Proven track record in building and leading teams focused on project delivery, PMO functions. A solid understanding of performance management is essential, and risk management is desirable
- Significant expertise in establishing, creating and implementing project governance frameworks, tools, and templates to support successful project execution
- Solid understanding of key performance indicators (KPIs) and impact measurement techniques, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights for senior leadership

Global Safeguarding Director
Contract: Permanent, Full Time, 35 hours per week
Location: The role can be based in the Kenya (home based) or the UK (London office) subject to right-to-work eligibility in the respective countries.
In the UK a minimum of 40% of working time is spent in-person in the London office, at external meetings or travelling for WaterAid.

About the team
WaterAid’s Global Safeguarding Team works collaboratively across the organisation to develop understanding and awareness, embed good practice and ensure safeguarding is a priority in all aspects of our work.
About the role
As our Global Safeguarding Director, you will oversee all areas of safeguarding for the WaterAid federation, including the prevention of sexual exploitation, abuse and harassment, safeguarding children and safeguarding adults at risk.
In this role, you will:
- Lead the development of strategies and plans to embed safeguarding protection into the work of WaterAid and our partners.
- Work closely with Chief Executives, senior leaders and board members across the WaterAid federation to strengthen safeguarding governance.
- Oversee the continued development of WaterAid’s global network of safeguarding champions at member, country and team level.
- Champion WaterAid’s commitment to equity, inclusion and safeguarding across the federation, and equip others to do the same.
Requirements
To be successful, you will need:
- To be an inspiring leader. Able to communicate the importance of safeguarding to multiple stakeholders, with a track record of having contributed to the development of safe and trusted organisational cultures.
- Significant experience of working in or leading a safeguarding function within an international setting with extensive experience of working with, and leading on, protection, safeguarding and accountability standards, and of implementing policy and practice.
- Experience of working with a range of stakeholders in a development context and implementing safeguarding initiatives with partners and at a community level.
- Strong knowledge of UK and international legal frameworks and experience of working with regulatory bodies.
Although not essential, we’d prefer you to have:
- The ability to speak languages spoken in countries where WaterAid works, particularly French, Portuguese and Spanish.
- Experience of working in the international development sector and of living and working in one of the countries where WaterAid has programmes.

Strategic litigation is core to Liberty’s work. Our lawyers work closely with the rest of the organisation using casework and legal advice to help Liberty reach its strategic goals. You will be responsible for running a small caseload of strategic litigation, conducting interventions and providing specialist human rights advice. A large part of the role is identifying and then scoping potential cases, working closely with other organisations to develop the litigation in a collaborative and creative way.
If you are interested in a job that involves innovative legal work in the NGO sector, we would like to hear from you. We have deliberately not included a requirement for a certain level of PQE in the selection criteria as we are keen to hear from candidates with pre-qualification experience, including experience outside the legal sector. We are also interested in more experienced applicants who may not see themselves as a human rights lawyer, but are interested in moving into this area.
