This role sits in our Finance & Commercial Directorate on the Finance team. We’re looking for a person who will play a pivotal role in collaborating with and supporting the senior management team, including team managers and executives, to ensure effective financial management and decision-making across the organisation. You will be responsible for providing strategic financial insights, assisting in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning, and driving improvements to operational financial performance.

Working alongside a dedicated finance team of 4 professionals - alongside that team, you will be a key support for financial queries from internal teams and ensure compliance with financial procedures and reporting standards.

About the role

You’ll lead our finance function, line managing two team members, and overseeing all aspects of financial operations. Reporting to the CEO, Executive Team(ET), and with the Finance and Commercial Director (FCD) support the preparation of papers for the Board on the numbers, with narrative, detail and analysis where appropriate.

You will maintain accurate financial records and systems that meet charity accounting standards and the requirements of the Statement of Recommended Practice (SORP).

You will produce timely, clear, and insightful monthly management accounts and financial reports for our executive team and board of trustees, supporting evidence-based decision making. You’ll also ensure our balance sheet is up to date, financial controls are robust, and all financial transactions are managed efficiently and with integrity.

This is a key leadership role in ensuring we continue to manage our resources effectively, enabling us to deliver our mission now and into the future.

• The role holder has autonomy to create a working schedule that fits their needs. We do require at least 4 hours on a Monday as that is a core working day. The remainder of the working hours can be worked flexibly across the week in business hours.

The key purpose of the Coordinator role is to support the Senior Engagement Manager to deliver regional Sight Loss Councils across Yorkshire and Humberside and to engage with blind and partially sighted people across the region.  We currently have three Sight Loss Councils (SLCs) in this region, so the postholder will be expected to work alongside the Senior Engagement Manager and coordinate the SLCs activity, focusing on the retention of the volunteers engaged and making sure the projects and work they are involved in, continue with success.

As an experienced Coordinator, you will engage and support Sight Loss Council members in the implementation of the region’s business plans to bring about change across transport, health and the built environment, as well as areas of local interest such as arts and culture or retail.

You will be a self-starter and work well on your own but will also enjoy being a part of a national team working across the country, with whom you can learn from, as well as share good practice with. JOB PURPOSE

To improve the provision of consistent high-quality debt advice, enhancing the experience of clients, by working collaboratively with delivery suppliers, to support them in implementing improvement activities, and in assessing and monitoring the quality of debt advice.

To support the implementation and ongoing facilitation of project quality assurance and improvement processes, working collaboratively with the EMMA management team to inform and support contract compliance and performance management activities.

To identify good practice and share learning with delivery suppliers, and across roles within MaPS and across all funded services to support improvement and development of advice services.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Deliver individual strategic projects/business plan objectives for the team

Work with debt advice providers on an individual basis to improve the provision of consistent and high-quality debt advice, by supporting suppliers to implement improvement activities, and to assess and monitor the performance of their advisers and debt advice service overall to ensure that the quality of debt advice is improved where required, maintained and provided in accordance with regulation, project requirements, best practice, and agreed standards.  This includes:

• Working in collaboration with suppliers to make tailored recommendations and providing feedback to improve the quality of debt advice and client experience in a delivery supplier as appropriate, and identify good practice, where applicable

• Measuring and analysing information gathered against risk ratings, quality frameworks and standards and liaising with delivery suppliers to agree improvement action plans using the results of assessments and analysis

• Liaising with delivery suppliers about the practical arrangements required to carry out the monitoring of their work and improvement plans and ensure understanding of the service improvement process

• Supporting, where appropriate, the implementation of any follow on/corrective action following the assessment and /or support visits/file reviews.

Support participants internal and external quality assurance, quality related grant requirements and quality improvement schemes by:

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Fundraiser to join our friendly team. We seek someone who feels passionately about our mission, to help us to drive income and ensure Success Club can continue to change lives, by building strong engagement with our donors and fundraisers. You will build on our past successes by managing existing relationships with, and making new grant-applications to Trusts and Foundations. We are a small core team and ideas are welcomed! As Fundraiser, you’ll be the first point of contact for all inbound fundraising enquiries—whether by email, phone or at in-person events. You will nurture relationships with our existing individual and corporate supporters and identify and cultivate prospective donors.

You’ll be proactive and organised, passionate about delivering outstanding supporter experiences, and will have a strong understanding of the charity sector. Familiarity with fundraising databases or CRMs is also a plus.

The role will involve representing Success Club at occasional meetings and events, where you’ll be well supported by our existing team of Trustees and the CEO & Business and Operations Manager. What you will need to succeed

National Energy Action is seeking skilled and experienced individuals to join our team in a pivotal role supporting low income and vulnerable households.

You will have a strong background in providing welfare benefits advice and expert advice on welfare rights, including entitlements, systems, claim processes and current legislation and practices; all tailored to individual client circumstances.  You will have demonstrable experience of providing welfare benefits advice via telephone and face to face is essential.

You will need good organisational skills, excellent communication skills as well as an understanding of the challenges faced by low income, vulnerable or disadvantaged householders.

The role of Benefits Adviser will be part of the Communities Directorate and the postholder will report to the Benefits Entitlement and Claim Support Manager.
