About the role

We are seeking a finance-focused Trustee who will play a pivotal role in supporting the Trust’s strategy, sustainability and long-term planning.

As a Finance Trustee, you will:

• Support oversight of the Trust’s financial strategy, reserves, risk and long-term sustainability.
• Provide scrutiny and constructive challenge to ensure robust financial governance.
• Work closely with fellow Trustees to oversee growth, investment and capital planning.
• Help ensure resources are deployed effectively to maximise educational impact.
• Contribute to the Audit & Risk and/or Finance Committee, depending on experience.

Who we’re looking for

We are seeking an experienced strategic leader with strong financial expertise who can add immediate value to board discussions and oversight.

The ideal candidate will bring:

• Senior financial leadership experience (e.g. CFO/FD, Audit Partner, or equivalent).
• Understanding of financial strategy, sustainability, risk and audit.
• Ability to interpret complex financial information and advise non-finance colleagues.
• Experience of working within, or advising, regulated or multi-site organisations.
• Commitment to community impact and improving life chances for young people.
• Experience within education or the public sector is welcomed but not essential.

Transform is looking for a new Treasurer to join our board of Trustees!

We are looking for a qualified accountant, preferably with experience in the charity sector; knowledge and experience of the drug sector an advantage.

As we are a small organisation this is quite a hands-on role. You will need:

 To work collaboratively with the CEO, our book-keepers and the auditors to produce annual accounts
and regular financial statements
 Proven accountancy qualifications, budgeting and understanding the finance of small
charities including a working knowledge of xero 
 Ability to translate finances in an easy-to-understand manner for different
stakeholders with less financial knowledge
 Good knowledge of charity governance rules and procedures
 To be passionate about the values and mission of the charity

You will also work closely with the Chair and the Board to ensure we are meeting our
financial objectives

Histiocytosis UK are seeking Expressions of Interest from Parents, Patients and Professionals for positions on the Advisory Panel to the Board of Trustees.

Advisory Panel Members are appointed for one year, attending a minimum of 2 meetings (one in person and one virtual). Their role is to help steer the charity to ensure that no one should die of histiocytosis and to represent patients and professionals in the histiocytosis field. Anyone aged over 18 can be a Trustee and you do not need to be a parent. There is no requirement for you to have a formal understanding of the education system, just an enquiring mind, the ability to work as part of a team and the time to contribute and attend the half-termly meetings. There is plenty of training available.

We are particularly keen to hear from applicants with professional experience in pupils with Special Education Needs (SEND) or expertise in audit, finance and estates management, however our schools will benefit from a range of professional knowledge on their Trust Board including education, human resources, legal, marketing, public relations and organisational change.

The role includes attendance in person at six meetings (one each half term) plus five committee meetings across the academic year, with background reading.

Trustees have a right to reasonable time off work for their public duties, although this may be unpaid. Your company’s HR department will be able to tell you about its policy.

The term of office for Trustees is four years. Many people choose to serve multiple terms. However, as a volunteer you can resign before your term is finished if your circumstances change. You will be offered an introductory meeting with the Chair of the Trust Board and CEO. A full induction programme and training will be shared and a mentor provided for all new Trustees.

Trustee roles are voluntary roles and therefore not paid, but travelling expenses are available.
