Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled Interim Virtual Fundraising Manager to join a well-established virtual fundraising programme. This is a key role in maintaining momentum and performance during a period of transition, offering an opportunity to provide both leadership and hands-on support.

Key responsibilities:

The Interim Virtual Fundraising Manager will be responsible for:

  • Team Leadership & Operational Oversight: Line managing the Virtual Fundraising Lead, overseeing live and upcoming virtual fundraising campaigns, attending key planning and performance meetings, and escalating risks and opportunities to the Head of Mass Participation.

  • Financial Reporting & Insight: Working with the Finance team to deliver accurate month-end income and expenditure figures, tracking and reporting on individual campaign budgets, providing weekly updates to the Head of Mass Participation, and supporting the creation of annual budgets and forecasting.

  • Digital Marketing & Campaign Management – Hands-on Execution: Personally planning, building, and delivering digital acquisition campaigns across Meta and other paid media platforms, including ad creative, ad builds and scheduling, setting up targeting and budgets, and real-time optimisation.

  • Digital Fundraising Tools & Supporter Journeys: Providing hands-on support with key platforms such as Funraisin, JustGiving, Meta fundraising tools, and Dotdigital, optimising landing pages, emails, and supporter journeys, troubleshooting technical issues, and ensuring a seamless supporter experience.

  • Collaboration & Compliance: Working cross-functionally with key teams and ensuring all activity remains compliant with the Fundraising Regulator’s Code of Practice, GDPR, supporter data policies, Gift Aid, Safeguarding, and Risk Assessments.

Person Specifications

The ideal candidate will be an experienced, hands-on professional who can quickly integrate into a high-performing team and deliver immediate impact. They will possess:

  • Strong experience managing digital fundraising or virtual challenge events.

  • Excellent team management and cross-team collaboration skills.

  • Confidence in working with budgets and income reporting.

  • Solid hands-on experience of digital marketing, including paid social (Meta/Instagram) campaign management, creative/content creation and management, platform optimisation, and real-time decision-making.

  • Experience using tools like GivePanel, Dotdigital, or similar.

  • A deep understanding of supporter engagement and online giving.

  • A calm, proactive, and solutions-focused approach with high attention to detail.

  • Knowledge of fundraising compliance, GDPR, and supporter data practices.

  • £150.20 per day + £18.69 daily holiday pay (£168.89 total PAYE)
