What’s the job?
The Trading Manager role is a full-time, permanent post within the Trading Support Department. In this exciting and varied role, you will play a pivotal part in delivering key elements of the Trading Support Strategy, aligning with its five strategic pillars. Your primary goal will be to lead the buying team, overseeing all aspects of the tender cycle, including contract and pricing negotiations with suppliers, and collaborating with the wider trading support management team to source products to meet proposition requirements. This includes ensuring those products are ethically sourced and deliver ‘best in market’ cost price. All work is conducted with the member Students’ Unions’ needs at the heart of it, across Licensed Trade, Catering and Retail categories.

The ideal candidate for this role will have experience of negotiating high-value contracts across a portfolio of categories and buying rules, coupled with developed knowledge of ethical purchasing. You’ll thrive when leading and managing a team and have the ability to effectively motivate staff to generate a positive team environment. An enhanced eye for detail is essential, as well as strong interpersonal skills to boost engagement with a diverse range of stakeholders. You’ll be confident negotiating and managing budgets and will have developed knowledge of tender processes and software. You will be contributing to a team that is passionate about empowering students, supporting unions, and driving positive change across the UK’s education sector.

Key Purpose:
To work as part of a team that provide high quality casework and grant applications to farming people that come to RABI for support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high quality information, advice and guidance in an empathetic and professional manner.

- Manage a caseload of beneficiaries working with each service user to establish the most appropriate sources of support and agree an action/support plan with them.

Worldwide Veterinary Service is searching for an experienced manager to support the growth of our global education programme.
This is an ideal role for an experienced project manager who wants to make lasting improvements to the lives of children and animals around the world.
Reporting to the Head of Education at global animal welfare charity, Worldwide Veterinary Service (WVS), you will help grow and develop education programmes that protect children from key zoonotic disease and improve the relationship between animals and people.
One child dies from rabies every 10 minutes. Most victims are under the age of 15. Rabies is 100% fatal, but entirely vaccine preventable. Children just need the right information to protect themselves. WVS established Mission Rabies, a campaign that aims to eliminate rabies for good, in 2013. We have worked hard to reach 9.6 million children worldwide, but around half of the world’s 2 billion children at this age still live in rabies endemic countries. You will manage national education managers based across Sub-Saharan Africa, Southeast Asia, and Latin America to spread our core messages to a wider audience. This is essential if we are to deliver our goal to halve the number of people dying from rabies in the next 5 years.
We are looking for somebody who is proactive, driven and has a history of making things happen. The ideal candidate will have a results-oriented mindset, be comfortable working with ambiguity and adaptable to change. As an organisation we are embracing hybrid working, and remote working within the UK could be considered for this role. There is an expectation that employees will attend monthly meetings at our Dorset office in Cranborne if practical, and for this role regular international travel to global project sites will be required.
About Us
At Worldwide Veterinary Service (WVS) we champion animal welfare around the world. We send vets where they are needed most, provide expert veterinary training in hard-to-reach places, and ship urgent aid supplies worldwide, every day of the year.
We deploy teams of vets and vet nurses, send equipment and supplies to help struggling organisations on the front line of animal welfare, and train vets at our international training centres in India, Thailand, Malawi and the Galápagos Islands. We also work on strategic one health projects such as rabies elimination campaigns with Governments and NGOs all over the world.
Last year, WVS treated over 103,000 animals, trained over 2,800 vets, deployed teams of vets all over the world, and sent over 1,042 parcels of veterinary supplies to 231 charities in 65 countries. Over 1.2 m dogs were vaccinated against rabies last year as part of our Mission Rabies campaign.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Support with the development of our education and behaviour change campaigns in Asia, Africa and Latin America.
- Develop robust monitoring and data collection systems and build capacity in the team to adhere to these mechanisms.
- Work with country teams to research the effectiveness of pedagogical approaches in terms of impact and behaviour change across various contexts and for different age groups.
- Work closely with colleagues to provide technical advice and implementation assistance to Mission Rabies and WVS projects around the world.
- Write strong project reports and proposals.
- Undertake international field visits in support of this work.
- Any other duties as required.
Essential Skills & Experience
- 7+ years in project management in an education, animal welfare, public health, humanitarian and/or international development capacity.
- Experience in monitoring, evaluation, research and learning (MERL).
- Ability to tailor communication to a range of audiences, particularly making research findings accessible to a non-academic audience.
- Experience in working with diverse teams in low resource environments.

Mind in Enfield and Barnet is a fast-growing charity in North London providing much needed therapy, wellbeing support and advocacy services to people with mental health problems.
This is an exciting new role for an experienced mental health professional who has experience of providing support to and working with clients with mild, moderate and severe mental health issues. You will provide Client Support for all services, including effective, in depth triage of clients, identification of client risk including escalation and support to clients. The successful candidate will provide support to all services, including building up and developing a bank of volunteers and (volunteer coordination) including general administrative support, as well as changes in service delivery.
Client Support duties include:
- Support client enquiries by using in depth mental health skills to triage effectively
- Ensure appropriate and timely responses and assistance to clients by drawing on mental health training and experience.
- To use social prescription methodology, mental health experience and mental health triaging experience to most effectively signpost and refer (internally or externally) clients, on the phone and possibly via walk in (should we move to that type of provision)

Job Purpose
Volunteering Matters have been working in collaboration with South of Enterprise Scotland (SOSE) to pilot Enterprising Futures in Dumfries and Galloway and due to the success of the work we are expanding this work into The Scottish Borders. With the support of SOSE, we are launching a new project, Enterprising Futures Scottish Borders, where we will use our tried and tested model to enable people to work to remove those barriers, build confidence and introduce the idea of starting their own business.
Our aim is to ensure a better future for all and that the region thrives with economic productivity. From our learnings from Dumfries and Galloway, we are launching a pilot which creates a pipeline for additional and flexible support, empowering women and those from under-represented groups, by introducing the idea of starting their own business.
Our part time Engagement Manager will create a warm referral pathway wherein they attend training events and sessions with Pathways Coaches alongside potential clients, ensuring a smooth and trusting transition to SOSE’s support, stepping back when trust is built. We will support people in the Scottish Borders who experience barriers to education, training, and employment.
As our Engagement Manager, you will directly support people aged 16+ who may have complex and challenging barriers to securing a positive pathway. This will include barrier identification and removal and where appropriate provide pre volunteering activity as well as volunteering placements in their local area.
You will engage with local people from under-represented groups in The Borders to realise their dreams and take active steps toward self-employment. Volunteering Matters’ individualised support adapts to the needs of each client whether this is additional funding, support to attend meetings, confidence building, or skills development in a supported volunteering placement. The person-centred, place-based approach to individual support is central to this partnership and leads to meaningful and sustainable impact for all.

You will be joining us at a time that holds the greatest potential for fundraising in our history, following the launch of the UK Government’s Delivery Plan for ME and initial findings of the DecodeME genetics study (co-led by Action for ME) in Summer 2025.
Building on our charity’s already established level of support from major donors, you will provide exceptional relationship management to existing donors alongside growing our network of high value supporters.
Working closely with the CEO, alongside managing a portfolio of donors and prospects ensuring excellent stewardship, you will support our Breakthrough-ME Group (a group of high net worth and highly networked individuals). There is an established level of support from major donors at Action for ME so this is a role that will require exceptional relationship management to retain our current valued supporters while growing this crucial area of fundraising.
This would be an ideal role for an experienced philanthropy professional seeking to work for a small but ambitious charity, helping us to achieve our mission to improve the lives of all people affected by ME – better meeting their needs today while taking action to secure change for tomorrow.
Key duties
Major Donor Fundraising
• Successfully develop and implement the philanthropy strategy to secure and maximise funds from high value individuals for Action for ME achieving annual income of £250k+
• Set plans and budgets which will deliver income through major gift fundraising and philanthropic giving through family trusts and foundations, including quarterly forecasting.
• Manage a portfolio of prospects and donors at the £5k to £100k level, to develop and maintain strong and long-standing partnerships
• Work closely with the Director of Fundraising and Development and other colleagues to ensure that plans and activities for fundraising from high value individuals are integrated into the overall fundraising strategy and plan for significant growth.
• Be responsible for our Breakthrough-ME Group with high quality proposition development. Contribution to Group fundraising activities with a specific focus on ensuring their networks support pipeline growth for future fundraising.
• Lead the delivery of our biennial fundraising gala dinner, maximising income and new opportunities from attendees.
• Develop engaging and inspiring opportunities to steward and cultivate support creating a calendar of activities including events, presentations, approaches, networking and meetings.
• Utilise the CRM database (Raisers Edge) to provide the data required to strategise your approach to philanthropy, monitor progress and provide a high-quality donor experience.
• Ensure utilisation of insight & data, producing management information data to inform planning and strategy development.
• With the Director of Fundraising & Development, create inspiring cases for support and resulting propositions with clear budgets and outcomes.
• Create adequate systems and processes to support the major donor programme.
• Undertake and manage research into prospects and major donors, preparing for approaches and presentations and briefing senior leadership and trustees for donor meetings and events.
• Develop and maintain relationships with donors, a wide range of staff and volunteers from trustee level down.
• Provide regular feedback and internal reporting to line management.
• Work with other fundraisers to ensure that all fundraising opportunities and leads are followed up – particularly in corporate, community and trust fundraising.
• Work with Trustees, the Chief Executive and members of the Leadership Team to develop relationships with major donors.
• Self-administrate including managing your own diary and meetings, keeping accurate and up to date records of activity
• Occasional travel to London, Bristol & events
Other duties
• To positively promote the work and activities of Action for M.E. at all times.
• To contribute to the team’s overall, ongoing and annual planning and budgeting.
• To undertake any other reasonable activity in line with the responsibilities of the post as requested by the Director of Fundraising and Development, Chief Executive or any other senior Action for ME management.
• Act as an advocate for the Charity and its work.
• To work in accordance with Action for ME’s values of collaboration, equity and empathy.
