Responsibilities: Facilitators are responsible for designing creative and interactive workshops for our young people, and delivering these workshops with our young people. We run some of our workshops online and other workshops are held in London. All workshops are held during the school holidays, in the evening and on weekends.

The workshop facilitator role is flexible and as part of your role, you may be involved in:

• Delivering and leading short workshops or courses, on behalf of GT Scholars (Online or offline)

• Designing engaging, interactive and educational workshops and short courses for young people and ensuring that the content is targeted to suit different abilities and capabilities

Graphic Design Team Lead

Wekume is a youth-led movement empowering students to reach their full potential by breaking barriers to sexual and reproductive health through collaboration, empathy, innovation, and community. Our core product — the Wekume app — offers university students trusted, discreet access to tools like SafeChat, QuickTest, ARV Corner, and SRH product ordering. Through our social media platforms and on-campus engagements, we extend this impact, helping students make informed choices and rewrite the narrative for healthy sexual and reproductive health in Uganda.

Position Overview

The Graphic Design Team Lead will play a central role in conceptualizing, designing, and overseeing the creation of compelling visual content that aligns with WEKUME’s mission and brand identity. This individual will lead a team of graphic designers to produce high-quality, impactful visuals for various platforms and initiatives, enhancing WEKUME's communication and outreach efforts.

Key Responsibilities

Coordinate between the Graphic Design Team and other stakeholders within WEKUME to ensure the success and visual consistency of all WEKUME communications. Schedule and lead design planning meetings before key campaigns or projects to ensure clear purpose, messaging, and visual goals are established. Schedule and lead design review and debrief sessions to evaluate the effectiveness of visual assets against stated plans and objectives. Document and evaluate each design project, collecting feedback and reporting key outcomes to inform future visual strategy. Supervise remote graphic design volunteers, ensuring high-quality output and adherence to brand guidelines. Lead the Graphic Design Team, exemplifying WEKUME values, to ensure fulfillment of the following responsibilities of the Design Team: Plan and execute the creation of visual assets for WEKUME events, campaigns, reports, and digital platforms. Ensure coordination with communications, fundraising, and programs teams to create cohesive visual content for joint initiatives. Handle end-to-end design processes from concept to final production, including image sourcing, layout, typography, and preparing files for various media (digital, print). Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, Multimedia Design, or a related field. Minimum 4 years’ experience in graphic design, with at least 2 years in a team leadership or senior design role, preferably within a non-profit or social impact context. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with excellent attention to detail in visual execution. Strong interpersonal and communication skills; confident working with diverse stakeholders including internal teams, partners, and beneficiaries. Proficiency in industry-standard design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign); familiarity with video editing tools and digital asset management. Willingness to adapt to evolving design trends and tools as needed.

High Rates of Teenage Pregnancies & School Dropouts – Limited knowledge and resources on sexual and reproductive health contribute to early marriages, teenage pregnancies, and high dropout rates among girls and young women, restricting their future opportunities.

Lack of Environmental Awareness & Sustainable Practices – Communities often lack the knowledge and integration of environmental stewardship in education and daily life, leading to unsustainable practices, environmental degradation, and missed opportunities for eco-friendly innovations.

We seek a Web Manager (Unpaid Volunteer) to support our website upgrade, digital and fundraising strategy, manage WordPress sites, optimise user experience, and drive results through improved web performance.  You'll identify new projects to develop innovative products that generate revenue for the business.  This is a key role in which your expertise in digital marketing, web management, SEO and traffic conversions is required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and build health tools, such as BMI Index scales, health quizzes, medical screenings, assessments, and questionnaires, to enhance the website's interactivity and educational value.
• Expand and add new sections to the current website, such as the Projects and Impact sections, showcasing our projects and their impact through stories, videos, and case studies.
• Performance Optimisation: Enhance search engine rankings and overall website performance using expert-level SEO.
• Analytics and reporting: Track and analyse web traffic, sales metrics, and marketing data to measure success, forecast trends, and provide actionable insights to the bus.

We do this using a hybrid learning model - an online learning platform supported by international faculty to supplement on-the-ground clinical teaching by local faculty and healthcare workers.

This program is entirely free for the students. It costs about USD 150 / month to produce One Future Healthcare Worker through this program.

OUR IMPACT 

2100 Palestinian medical students are continuing their undergraduate education through GEM’s hybrid model. We have expanded to include nursing and dental  programs. 200 new doctors graduated in Gaza in January 2025, and our first cohort of nurses is set to follow in summer 2025.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR 

Palmed Academy is seeking a talented web designer to volunteer with us in building a new website. This is a great opportunity to showcase your creativity, build your portfolio, and contribute to an educational initiative that makes a real impact.

Our current website has a complex back-end interface that is difficult to manage. We are looking for a web designer to build us a new website using a no-code or low-code web design tool (e.g., Squarespace, or similar), ensuring it has a clean and simple back-end interface. Once built, the site should be easy to update by volunteers with no coding knowledge, so that content changes and updates can be managed smoothly by our team. This is a short-term project that should ideally be completed within 3-6 months, depending on the volunteer's availability. 

Skills required

• Experience designing websites with no-code tools, e.g., Squarespace 
• Strong eye for design, layout, and user experience.
• Be able to make the site responsive across devices.
• Create a clear handover process for future maintainers.
• Be collaborative, patient, and motivated by making a positive impact.
