Empact
Empact is a media and technology company that transforms audience empathy into tangible action by equipping filmmakers, brands, and nonprofits with custom digital campaigns and engagement data for sustainable impact.
Independent filmmakers are creating some of today's most urgent social and environmental stories, yet they're trapped in a broken system. With public funding shrinking and private investment consolidating around blockbuster IP, Hollywood has narrowed its focus to the "three Cs": celebrities, cults, and crime. Fewer than 1% of films secure traditional distribution, leaving creators of meaningful content to navigate self-distribution alone—managing marketing, outreach, impact tracking, and community building on top of their creative work. It's exhausting and unsustainable. Meanwhile, audiences are ready to act. Research shows 84% of viewers believe films have changed their lives, with 80% willing to engage in related movements. Yet less than 1% of media includes clear calls-to-action, creating what we call the "action gap"—millions of people feeling moved but lacking accessible pathways to channel that energy into real change. This media crisis directly undermines three critical UN Sustainable Development Goals: SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions) suffers when diverse voices are silenced by industry gatekeeping, weakening the information ecosystem democracies need to thrive. SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities) is stalled when only well-funded stories reach audiences, while grassroots narratives from marginalized communities struggle for visibility. SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) remains elusive without platforms that connect storytellers, audiences, nonprofits, and communities around shared causes. When traditional institutions fail to support stories that matter, communities must carry them forward. The data is clear: films with call-to-actions see a 200% surge in outreach to related nonprofits. Empact captures this intent for good, transforming entertainment into a catalyst for the partnerships and action the SDGs require.
Empact is where powerful stories meet meaningful action. We are a media and technology company empowering filmmakers, nonprofits, and brands to drive real-world change through an all-in-one digital impact campaign platform. We remove the technical and logistical barriers that prevent momentum from building beyond the screen, enabling creators and mission-driven organizations to launch campaign sites where viewers can host screenings, connect with vetted nonprofits, and take meaningful action.
