West London Centre for Counselling (WLCC) is a registered charity with a proud history of delivering high-quality, free, confidential counselling to the local community in Hammersmith and Fulham for over 30 years.

We are currently commissioned by the NHS Talking Therapies service in Hammersmith and Fulham to provide short-term therapeutic interventions (12 sessions) for individuals experiencing mild to moderate mental health conditions. Each year, our dedicated team assesses more than 1,000 clients prior to treatment.

WLCC has a committed and experienced management team, supported by a longstanding group of skilled clinicians and administrators. Our premises are located just off Glenthorne Road in Hammersmith. We are proud to be a BACP-accredited service.

We are now seeking volunteer Trustees to join our Board and help shape the future of the organisation. This is a valuable opportunity to contribute to a vital community service and support the continued delivery of accessible mental health care.

About the role:

• The Board meets 4–5 times per year, usually on a Monday or Thursday evening in Hammersmith.
• Trustees are expected to attend these meetings and contribute to the strategic direction and governance of the Centre.

As a QA Reviewer at Roots Academy, you'll work closely with Regional Leads and the QA team to help maintain and raise the quality of teaching across our programmes. Your role is to support our instructors by regularly observing lessons, offering constructive feedback, and encouraging their continued growth and development.

Your input will help ensure that students benefit from lessons that are clear, engaging, and rooted in sound educational practice.

Key tasks

· Observe lessons via site visits or submitted video recordings throughout the semester.

· Use standardised forms to assess lesson quality and highlight key strengths and areas that could be improved.

· Offer honest and practical feedback, using real examples to guide instructors toward better practice.

· Work alongside Regional Leads to deliver feedback at set points in the semester and support instructor development conversations.

· Attend feedback meetings and take notes to track progress and follow-up actions.

· Recommend helpful activities for instructors, such as shadowing experienced colleagues, team teaching, or reviewing their own lessons.

· Keep track of instructors needing additional support by scheduling follow-up visits or reviewing new lesson recordings.

· Make sure feedback is received, understood, and followed up with clear next steps.

· Raise any serious concerns or ongoing issues with the Regional Lead or relevant team members.

Cattery Assistant

Our Branch

At Apsley Cattery we have around 30 volunteers, supported by our Animal Welfare Team. There will be lots of hands on contact with the cats, including cleaning and feeding at the cattery and/or socializing of the cats in our care. You would be part of a team that would make a real difference to the lives of our cats.

We are looking for volunteers to help care for the cats in our cattery to keep them fed, watered, and clean. You will learn new skills, and make our cats very happy whilst they wait for their forever home.

By volunteering at our Cattery, you would be helping us get through the essential tasks. As well as assisting with their feeding and the cleaning of the cattery, you will also be working closely with the team allowing you to get more involved and learn new skills. This opportunity to help our cats is extremely rewarding, knowing that you have improved their welfare and made them happy whilst they are waiting for their forever home.

Volunteer Cattery Assistant responsibilities

• Preparing and providing food and water for the cats.

• Cleaning, and maintaining the cattery to a high standard of cleanliness, so our cats are as comfortable as possible.

• Attending to the exercise and grooming needs of the cats.

• Following the health and safety procedures in place at the centre and ensuring that they are always observed.

Yoga Stops Traffick is an international campaign to raise awareness of and funds for survivors of human trafficking in India. We are seeking 2 volunteers to help us improve and evolve this campaign.

What will you be doing?

Yoga Stops Traffick is an international campaign run by UK registered charity Adventure Ashram to raise awareness of and funds for survivors of human trafficking in India. Every year thousands of yoga practitioners from all corners of the globe roll out their mats, from the UK to Iceland to Costa Rica, to stand in solidarity with young survivors. The funds raised from Yoga Stops Traffick help rescue and rehabilitate survivors of human trafficking, sexual and domestic violence, modern-day slavery, and child marriage.

We are seeking  2 volunteers to improve the Yoga Stops Traffick campaign. We've been running this campaign for many years now but sadly despite the campaign's great potential, it has been less and less successful each year. We need some creative marketing and social media experts to help lift this campaign back to its full potential.

Main responsibilities of the role:

• Bring your creative social media and marketing ideas to the team to help us think of new ways to increase awareness of Yoga Stops Traffick to yoga studios and teachers in the UK and worldwide, and help us develop plans to turn these ideas into well-executed action.

• Use your corporate partnerships experience to advise us on the best ways to develop new corporate partnerships - help us identify the best potential partners for the campaign and develop plans for approaching them and developing those relationships.

• Help us plan our social media activity to increase our reach, improve our engagement levels and ultimately drive the success of this campaign.

• If you are experienced using Wordpress and skilled at improving SEO that would be an added bonus - our website has terrible SEO and ranks badly and we no longer have the skills in-house to know the best way to improve our website. However, if this is not part of your skill-set but you can improve our general marketing and social media plans - we would still be grateful for your help!

• Provide other administrative support as needed (this could include website updates, creating marketing materials, sending campaign emails, responding to campaign-related enquiries)

Who we are 

ECA offers a Social Centre that serves as a place for people to reconnect with old friends and meet new people in a secure and inviting setting. While activities are primarily aimed at elderly and vulnerable adults in the local area, the centre is open to everyone.

Our current programme includes

• Social gatherings at the Elleray Social Centre.
• Arts, crafts, educational talks, and workshops.
• Exercise Classes, Gentle fitness classes tailored for seniors, both indoor and outdoor.

How we operate 

The Social Centre is managed by a Centre Manager, Administrator, Activity and Volunteer Coordinator, and a cook. They are supported by a team of approximately 40 volunteers who assist in the office, gardens, café, and facilitate daily activities. The organization operates as a Charitable Company regulated by the Charities Commission and has eight Trustees on the Board of Trustees. The Trustees meet six times a year, with additional meetings as needed.

Chair Role Description 

• Provide strategic leadership to the charity and the Board, ensuring that ECA achieves its mission.
• Work in partnership with the Centre Manager and team to achieve ECA’s mission.
• Lead the board in ensuring that it fulfils its responsibilities for the governance of the organisation.
• Optimise the relationship between the board and ECA’s staff and volunteers.
• Plan and chair the board meetings and the AGM, with others as appropriate.
• Act as a spokesperson and figurehead for ECA.

What we are looking for

• Ideally previous experience of being a trustee.  
• A keen sense of strategic purpose.
• Governance and committee experience in a charity or business setting.
• Strong in execution and managing transformation projects, including leading the charity in the new ECA building setting.  
• Experience in stakeholder engagement and ability to constructively negotiate and collaborate with various institutions, entities, and personnel.
• Affinity with and commitment to the local SW London and Teddington area.
• Business experience and awareness across finance, risk, IT, and people management, would be desirable.

Terms of office  

• Trustees are appointed for a 3-year term of office, renewal for 2 further terms to a maximum of 9 years.

Time commitment

• Attending [6] Board meetings annually. Currently meetings are generally held in person at the ECA building.
• Periodic meetings with the Centre Manager and management team, with flexibility to respond swiftly to the occasional ad-hoc issues.
• Other meetings, including on potential strategy and other charity-related issues.

The Centre will be fully accessible, featuring a lift to the first floor. It includes a large hall that can split into two rooms and two additional activity rooms upstairs. A café and lounge will also open onto a garden with outdoor seating.

The funding for the new centre comes from Richmond Council, acknowledging ECA's local contributions over three decades. The future centre is leased from the council.

Do you have professional expertise you could use to help a good cause? Are you passionate about animal welfare? Trustees manage the affairs of our local RSPCA Branch to promote and provide animal welfare within the branch area. 

We are the Surrey East Branch of the RSPCA, and it's our vision to live in a world where all animals are respected and treated with compassion. 

Main activities: 

• To be familiar with and support the aims and policies of the RSPCA. 

• To be familiar with our branch rules and follow them at all times. 

• To work with your fellow trustees and branch officers to jointly act in making decisions for the best interest of our branch and the RSPCA. 

• To ensure the branch meets all the minimum animal welfare standards (MAWS). Where they are not met, work with national RSPCA staff to meet the standard as soon as practicable. 

• In conjunction with your fellow trustees and Branch support specialist (BSS), to write, adopt, monitor and review a branch development plan setting out the short and long-term aims of our branch. 

• To actively participate in branch committee meetings and attend the branch annual general meeting, and regional conference. 

• To be aware of the outcome of regional board meetings and support regional initiatives. 

• To attend the trustee training course. 

• To actively promote and advertise the society in an ongoing programme to recruit new branch trustees and volunteers. 

• To welcome new trustees and volunteers to the branch.

What are we looking for? 

• Most people aged 18 or over are eligible to become a trustee. You will need to become a member of the RSPCA. Good interpersonal skills are important. You do not need to be an expert, although commitment, common sense and the ability to be objective is vital. 

• Specific skills such as finance, fundraising, project management, business experience, and awareness of employment and/or charity legislation can be useful, but not essential. 

• Trustees must sign a Trustee Declaration of Willingness to Act to clarify that they are not disqualified from being a trustee and that they accept the post. 

• In addition to our standard declaration of willingness, trustees also need to complete a declaration from the Charity Commission and read their guidance for individuals on who can’t be a trustee or senior manager of a charity.
