About the Role

We are Buttons & Bubbles C.I.C. and our mission is to increase inclusion and representation for disabled families across society. We offer a variety of services including bespoke characters, workshops, free resources, events, sensory trails, and more.

As we grow in 2025 and beyond, we are looking for a volunteer to help us expand our reach and impact. This role will focus on supporting partnerships with organisations, developing corporate relationships, and helping us explore new opportunities for fundraising and collaboration.

Who Are We Looking For?

Victory Afghanistan is a volunteer -led nonprofit providing free online English lessons and mentoring for Afghan girls and women who are currently barred from formal education. Our mission is to equip them with the skills and confidence to apply for scholarships and university placements abroad.

We are looking for a number of volunteer IELTS Tutors to support our mentorship-level students from January to May 2026. These students already have an IELTS level of around 6.0 and now need focused preparation to achieve higher scores required for university entry.

You will be teaching bright, ambitious young women who are eager to perfect their academic English, improve their fluency, and succeed in international admissions. Lessons are held online once or twice a week, and materials can be adapted to suit your teaching style.

Commitment: 1–2 hours per week (online) depending on your availability.
Programme duration: 16 weeks
Start date: Third week of January 2026
End date: Third week of May 2026

Action Tutoring is a national education charity that offers free maths and English tutoring to pupils facing disadvantage. 

By volunteering as a tutor at a local school or online, you'll be supporting children to build their confidence and help ensure they leave school with the grades needed to build a bright future.

What will I be doing?

• Tutoring 1-3 pupils in Year 5 or 6, or Year 7, 10 or 11.

• Commit to one hour a week, for up to 20 weeks. You choose the day and time to sign up to.

• Use our tutor workbooks to guide your pupils through activities that will boost their confidence and grades.

We are looking for a patient and chatty volunteer who can communicate with a clear and loud voice, to visit a lovely gentleman in his 70s in Woolwich. His love for music is something he would love to share with a visitor, enjoying the 50s, 60s and 70s through sound.

This gentleman is blind and communicates differently depending on the day. His engagement may fluctuate between quietly appreciating your company and loving a long chat. Your visit would be a gentle check-in — sharing a cuppa, a chat, and simply being present.

We offer a lifelong befriending service for adults with learning disabilities. Matching the skills and interests of passionate visitors with the specific hobbies and interests of the people we visit. Visitors visit six times a year and, in many cases, the visitor is the only person in someone’s life who isn’t paid to be there for them.

This is a Check in visit role, meaning that your visits are likely to be short - on average 30 minutes or less. Some of the people we visit may be unable to communicate with words. Sometimes the person might choose not to meet with their visitor. Your visit is however very important, and these are some of the things you could be doing on a visit:

• Checking in on their well-being and speak to support staff to get an update on how the person is doing

• You might be able to bring a treat that the person enjoys, like chocolates or fruit.

• Some people we support enjoy sensory experiences so items that will stimulate their senses can also help you create a sense of connection with the person you visit.  Your volunteer manager will be happy to help you with ideas and suggestions.

We are FARA. We have been around for over 30 years and have 39 Charity Shops across London. Our Chiswick Kids store has an exciting opportunity for a volunteer to come and help us. By volunteering you will be helping not only the work of the charity, but also creating a pleasant experience for our community of customers. You will also help us make sure the items FARA can’t sell, find the right home, maximising our contribution to a sustainable economy.

• Lead and facilitate a weekly Creative Writing Group, encouraging participants to explore their thoughts and feelings through writing exercises, prompts, and storytelling.
• Guide a subsequent Feelings Forum where participants can share and discuss emotions sparked by the writing session or current experiences in a respectful and supportive atmosphere
• Foster an inclusive, non-judgmental environment where all voices are heard and valued

Role Overview

We are seeking a Voluntary Assistant to the Executive Assistant, who will directly support the Executive Assistant to the Founder in the day-to-day coordination, administration, and communications of the CIC.

You will play a vital role in helping the team stay organised, efficient, and connected as we expand our operations, events, and fundraising programmes.

This is an unpaid voluntary position for someone passionate about helping build a movement that fights CSA and supports survivors across the UK.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Executive Assistant in managing schedules, meetings, and communications.

• Assist with preparing reports, tracking project tasks, and ensuring follow-ups through Asana.

• Help organise and document team meetings, training sessions, and fundraising events.

• Communicate with internal departments, volunteers, and external partners in a professional and sensitive manner.

• Assist with digital organisation — filing, cloud storage management, and shared document control.

• Help prepare correspondence, press materials, or short summaries for the Founder or senior team.

• Occasionally attend virtual or in-person meetings to take notes and ensure next steps are actioned.

• Maintain confidentiality and sensitivity when handling information related to CSA, survivors, and internal operations.

Across Yorkshire, Yorkshire’s Brain Tumour Charity (YBTC) is Yorkshire and Humber’s leading

brain tumour charity. Offering practical, financial and emotional support to both adult and child

brain tumour patients, together with their families.

We fund brain tumour research in Yorkshire; we hope this research, dedicated to identifying new

approaches to the discovery and treatment of brain tumours, will improve outcomes for patients.

At YBTC we are a small team who are growing to meet the needs of those affected by a brain

tumour in Yorkshire. Around 15 new cases of primary brain tumour are diagnosed in the region

every week.
