The Young People’s Supported Accommodation (YPSA) Manager is responsible for ensuring that progression coaches provide an exceptional standard of coaching and youth work support to young people - within both their homes and community settings.

The YPSA Manager will:

About the role:
These roles are home-based with responsibility for partnership and engagement work within specific geographical areas - Cornwall and Isles of Scilly, Plymouth and Devon.

Job Title: Parents in Mind Peer Support Co-ordinator
Salary: £22,000 FTE

We are looking for a talented individual to join the brand new NCT Parents in Mind East Sussex team, coordinating the delivery of the perinatal mental health peer support across the area – initially until the end of June 2024, but with the possibility of extension, subject to funding. This role is home-based but will include regular meetings (sometimes at short notice) across East Sussex – specifically the Hastings, Eastbourne, Newhaven areas - so the ability to travel and a flexible approach to working are essential. The post will be for 28 hours per week.
The post holder will use their excellent listening skills, sensitivity and empathy to refer service users into the peer support service, making sure we are the right fit for their needs, and if so, matching them with our fabulous team of volunteer peer supporters. The project co-ordinator will also monitor and take feedback on the experiences of the clients in our care, and support those who feel they need additional/alternative support into other local services.
You must have excellent written and oral communication skills and be able to quickly create rapport with volunteers, service users, NCT practitioners and a range of staff from local services. An understanding of mental health support is also essential to the post. This is a complex project, so you must be able to confidently prioritise your own work, be highly organised and able to work independently. The post holder will be an ambassador for the service across the locality, so outstanding relationship building skills are vital. Good IT skills will also be required – including use of Outlook, Word and Excel. Ideally you will also have the skills to be able to engage with parents via social media.
It is essential for this post that you are, or undertake the training to become, a Parents in Mind peer supporter. This training requires lived experience/close support of another who has experienced mental health difficulties during the transition to parenthood, and the accredited training would be undertaken in addition to your paid hours.

The successful applicant will work closely with the Support Line Manager and team to deliver support for anyone affected by sarcoma. The post holder will be part of a growing Support Line team and be part of the continued expansion of the service as we grow in exciting new directions in 2022/23. Job purpose
The purpose of the role is to provide expert support and information to people affected by sarcoma through the effective delivery of Sarcoma UK’s confidential Support Line service.
Duties and key responsibilities
Support and Information
- To deliver the Sarcoma UK Support Line, a confidential telephone and email support and information service for anyone affected by sarcoma. This includes:
- Providing individual information and support to service users on sarcoma and related issues, by telephone, email and other media as the service develops.
- Adhering to quality standards, confidentiality, Sarcoma UK policies and the standard operating procedures of the Support Line.
- Under direction from the Director of Research, Policy and Support and Support Line Manager, contribute to Sarcoma UK’s social and other media as appropriate.
- To provide clinical input to the development of the charity’s information materials including the revision of existing information materials and the development of new information products.
- To provide input to the clinical content of the charity’s website.
- To raise awareness of the charity’s information and support services within the health professional field.
- To contribute sarcoma knowledge and clinical expertise across all the charity’s programmes.
Maintain Professional Knowledge
- Keep up to date with treatment and care of sarcoma through research and review of publications, horizon scanning, and attending study days and conferences, and disseminate this information within the charity.
- Adhere to the standards of good practice outlined in the AHP / NMC professional code of conduct, or relevant professional body’s standards.
- Maintain professional registration and compliance with revalidation requirements ensuring ongoing clinical education and professional development.
- Attend mandatory clinical supervision sessions.
External Relationships
- To maintain positive relationships with key Sarcoma UK stakeholders including sarcoma patients, family members/carers and support group leaders.
- To develop and maintain contact with sarcoma specialist healthcare professionals, including clinicians, specialist nurses and allied health professionals who have reviewed our information materials.
- To support new work within the information and support team.
- The role will require some travel to meetings and events throughout the UK and occasionally overseas.

Counsellor (Stroke Support)
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced counsellor to join the Emotional Support Team in Cornwall. If a full time role is not for you, a blend of part time hours as well as flexible working is available. This will be discussed further at interview.
Position: Stroke Association Support Coordinator/Counsellor - Emotional Support
Location: Homebased, with regular travel across Cornwall. However, frequent travel will be required as part of this role (May include team meetings or other work related meetings)
Hours: 35 hours per week (potential for part time working)
Salary: Circa £27,300 per annum

The Role
The project funded by the Elwyn Thomas Memorial Fund will deliver an Emotional Support Service as well as through collaborative community working, will result in valuable assets for the community, in the shape of self-sustaining peer and volunteer led support through groups, partnerships and activities.
Reporting to the Emotional Support Service Manager, the team will deliver a professional counselling service to stroke survivors, carers and relatives. Counselling sessions are designed to help clients to develop emotional resilience, readjust to life after stroke and prepare to reintegrate into community life.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Providing one to one counselling to stroke survivors, carers and relatives including those with communication or cognitive difficulties
- Providing counselling sessions in person, on-line or by telephone, throughout Cornwall
- Assessing the appropriateness of counselling for service users by providing emotional needs assessment sessions as well as using appropriate screening/evaluation tools (e.g. CORE)
- Managing risk and safeguarding issues in accordance with appropriate legal, ethical and organisational requirements.
About You
You will have:
- An advanced diploma in integrative, humanistic or person-centred counselling/psychotherapy; for example, BACP recognised course or equivalent (i.e. 450 hours’ skills and theory, 100 hours of supervised practice, 20 hours of personal therapy)
- A minimum of 1-year post qualification supervised clinical practice
- BACP registration (or equivalent) and actively working towards accreditation
- Experience of delivering short-term counselling
- Experience of working with people with cognitive impairment

Out client provides support to people diagnosed with dementia and their carers. You will offer support to service users in a variety of ways, such as face to face within the community, virtually on Teams or Zoom or by phone, letter and email. The service is unique to each service user, as it is based upon their personal circumstances and support needs.
