About the role

We are seeking additional experienced Associate Independent Investigating Officers (IO) for Complaints, to increase our capacity to respond to referrals from Local Authorities to provide an independent element to the formal Stage 2 investigations under the Children Act 1989.

The IO will lead investigations, and will give the complainant (who may be a child, young person or adult) the opportunity to express their view, ensure the child or young person’s rights and best interests are at the centre of the investigation and that the investigation/review process is open and transparent. They write a report on the investigation/review, which is submitted to the referring agency.

The Job Description document sets out the expectations for an Associate Independent Person for Complaints (IPC) who is approved by Coram Voice. IPCs are independent, freelance and responsible for their own work. Nevertheless, IPCs are accountable to the organisation for their professional standards and are expected to comply with Coram Voice Code of Ethics and Practice Guidelines.

Please note: the nature of associate work means that we cannot guarantee a regular amount of work, and complaints will be allocated dependent on the associate’s availability, location and the needs and demands of the individual case. Investigation work takes place Monday to Friday within working hours. This position is not suitable for applicants who already work or have commitments more than two days within the working week.

Overview

Barts Health NHS Trust provides maternity and neonatal care for women and birthing people and their babies each year, providing all aspects of obstetrics and midwifery care in our labour ward, midwife-led birth centre and home birthing service.

NEL Maternity and Neonatal Voices Partnership (MNVP) listens to the experiences of women, birthing people and families, and brings together service users, staff and other stakeholders to plan, review and improve maternity and neonatal care. MNVPs ensure that service users’ voices are at the heart of decision-making in maternity and neonatal services by being embedded within the leadership of provider trusts and feeding into the Local Maternity and Neonatal System and Integrated Care Board. This influences improvements in the safety, quality, and experience of maternity and neonatal care. We work to ensure that every woman and birthing person on the maternity and neonatal pathway has a chance to have their voice heard. We do not speak for them.

We are recruiting a Maternity Lead who brings the expertise of women/birthing people with lived experience of maternity services at Barts Health NHS Trust into the heart of the development of every aspect of maternity and neonatal services at the trust.

By providing paid employment, in-house case work support, and on-going training, we create an environment that supports our programme participants to lead a positive life away from the Criminal Justice System. 

The role of Case Worker

Redemption Roasters is looking to appoint a dedicated Case Worker to deliver personalised support to participants employed across our London coffee shops.

In this role, you will meet one-to-one with participants to support their employment journey. You will use case work sessions to talk through concerns or challenges, discuss professional development and support participants to progress positively. You will play an important role in creating a safe, inclusive and supportive environment that enables participants to succeed.

The successful applicant will be offered comprehensive on-boarding and training, with opportunities to shadow experienced members of the Redemption Roasters team.

Duties

• Effectively manage a caseload of participants, delivering one-to-one support that is tailored to each individual’s needs and goals across all 12 shops. 
• Support participants trained by Redemption Roasters (in-custody and the community) as they prepare for trial-shifts and look to move into employment. 
• Visit Redemption Roasters training programmes in partner prisons to discuss employment opportunities and meet participants ahead of release. 
• Build strong relationships with participants, whilst maintaining professional boundaries.
• Work collaboratively with the Redemption Roasters Shop Managers to support the professional development of participants employed in their shop. 
• Utilise partnership working, signposting and referrals to other organisations to support the positive progress of participants.
• Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead for Redemption Roasters, leading annual policy reviews and ensuring best practice is followed.

Essential

• Experience working with and supporting vulnerable individuals with complex needs
• Empathetic and kind, with a strong belief in the Redemption Roasters mission

The Digital Inclusion Worker will be responsible for providing targeted one-to-one digital support and delivering workshops to both disabled and non-disabled residents of Enfield, helping them to improve their digital skills. We are looking for a Project Active Assistant to support the delivery of Project Active; Students’ Union UCL’s programme designed to engage inactive students in sport and physical activity. Working with the Project Active Coordinator, you will deliver beginner-friendly, accessible and inclusive sport and physical activity events throughout the year including women’s-only provision, pay and play sessions and several mass participation events. You will be an enthusiastic ambassador for Project Active, supporting on the ground delivery and providing a friendly point of contact for students. This is a hands-on role where you will regularly be required to work on site and out at events throughout the year.

We're looking for an enthusiastic Complex Needs Worker with considerable experience of working with people with substance misuse, mental health problems and knowledge of the problems that confront homeless people with complex needs. You will be joining the team in our Islington Progression Pathway, a  service that provides accommodation and support to individuals with complex needs in a recovery focused way. The team works collaboratively with clients in a safe and supportive environment in developing goals, plans and strategies to better manage their mental health, substance misuse and any associated risks.  

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Working as part of a multidisciplinary team to create an environment of person-centred support for clients with complex needs, maintaining a safe environment which clients who have experienced complex trauma are able to build their confidence and discover opportunities for positive change, in line with Psychologically Informed Environment principles and St Mungo’s Framework.
• Identifying and developing external relationships that increase accessibility to support within Islington for clients with complex needs.
• Providing training, support and case management to team members
• This role is Monday-Friday 9am-5pm

About you

We are looking for someone who has a good understanding of substance use and ideally one of the following; Mental health, Trauma Informed Care and/or Psychologically Informed Environments. To be successful in this role you will also require:

• The ability to maintain enthusiasm for a high level of contact with clients on a day to day basis.
• An understanding of a Person Centred approach and a non-judgemental way of working with people who have been homeless, and have perhaps had negative experiences of services.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work with others whilst managing your own time.
• The ability to empower individuals to make positive changes and a willingness to develop these valuable skills. 
• The ability to work flexibly which may include some weekends to ensure continuity of the service.
• Above all we are looking for someone who will be committed to the overall aims and objectives of the service and working in a psychologically informed way, ensuring clients are at the heart of everything they do.

The Day Care Centres also provide a hot lunch and a range of special events. We have a dedicated, specialist team supporting people with care needs, including those living with mild - moderate dementia and complex needs. 

The successful candidates will: 

• Have shared responsibility in the team for the implementation of a comprehensive service of care and support for service users 

• Act as a key worker for individual clients

• Deliver holistic and person centred wellbeing services which provide service users with social interaction and support to maintain their personal interests. 

Salary: Starting at SCP 4 £25,209.19 pa incl. London Weighting for 35 hpw - pro rata for part time which is £14,405.25 for 20 hours per week and £18,006.56 pa for a 25 hour week) 

(Staff work across both centres so need to be able to travel to Kings Cross and Hampstead.  Shifts range in times across the day and you must be able to work all the various shifts)

About Slough Foodbank

Slough Foodbank is a charity whose object is the prevention or relief of poverty in the United Kingdom, mainly in Slough and the surrounding area, in particular but not exclusively by providing emergency food supplies to individuals in need, as motivated by the principles of the Christian Faith.

Slough Foodbank believes that no one in the community should have to face going hungry. That’s why we provide three days’ worth of nutritionally balanced, emergency food and support to local people who are referred to us in crisis. In 2024, we gave out 12,147 food parcels.  Sadly, this is almost double the number in given out in 2020.  In addition to providing food and basic toiletries, we try to understand the situation of the people referred to us so that we can signpost them to other organisations where appropriate, in order to give a helping hand through a crisis.

The manager has overall responsibility for the operation of the foodbank, ensuring that we are able to meet the needs of clients facing food poverty crisis. The role is wide-ranging and varied and responsibilities include:

· Primary contact for our parent organisation, Trussell

· Accountable to the Trustees, who have ultimate accountability for the Foodbank

· Volunteer and employee management

· Ensuring there are sufficient donations of food, toiletries, etc, and also financial donations

· Meeting clients’ needs through managing distribution of food parcels including oversight of the warehouse, distribution centres & signposting

· Recruiting and developing volunteers (and any approved employees)

· Building key external relationships with key referral agencies, local forums and networks

· PR & Communications – representing the foodbank externally, raising the profile of food poverty and lobbying for those in need

· Quality assurance & compliance

· Strategic leadership and process improvement
