Post Title: Young Women’s Worker
Location: The post will be based primarily at St George’s Hospital. However, all
Redthread team members must have a flexible approach to supporting other
sites across London when needed. There will be a need for regular visits to

About the Role:
This role is co-located within Chelsea & Westminster Hospital 3-4 days per week and 1 day per week at our office near Old Street and/or working from home.
You may be a qualified IDVA or a Domestic Abuse Outreach Worker wanting to work alongside health professionals in a hospital environment, although we will consider applicants from other fields providing you are able to demonstrate your knowledge and understanding of domestic abuse.
As a Hospital Independent Domestic and Sexual Violence Advocate you will:
- Implement effective ways of working with victims and those supporting them to increase safety and reduce harm.
- Provide a high-quality, front-line service to victims of domestic and sexual abuse, delivering a premium service prioritised according to risk, primarily focusing on victim/survivors aged 16+
- Work within a multi-agency framework consisting of Sexual Health London, Chelsea and Westminster Foundation Trust, the MARAC and local partnership responses to domestic and sexual abuse to keep safety central to all services for victims of domestic and sexual abuse.
- Be comfortable with running group training sessions and be willing and able to share your specialist knowledge with acute staff across the hospital.
- Have excellent communication skills, a proactive approach and the confidence to be able to influence the way in which this service is delivered are key.

You will need to:

Big Issue Changing Lives CIC is looking for an Support and Outreach Assistant to support the direct the direct delivery of services to individuals participating in Big Issue enterprises, including selling the Big Issue magazine. The core of the role is facilitating access for members of our Roma Communities to the Hand Up Service and other local services, resources and networks required to address the barriers they are facing to moving forwards out of poverty. Where local services and resources are not available you will also support the Outreach Team with the delivery of information, guidance and some direct interventions, such as training sessions, directly.
This is self-starter role in which you’ll be responsible for connecting with potential service users within the Roma community, introducing the service to them, sharing information from our Hand Up plus services and supporting them to engage with the core Hand Up service. You’ll be working within a small team of Outreach workers and will work to maintain a set of Service Standards which help maintain the quality of the service nationally.
The role is highly flexible and no two days are the same. You’ll bring your own experience and knowledge to the role, as well as your ability to speak Romanian. We will support you to build on that through an ongoing training and development programme which aims to ensure all Hand Up Service Team members have up to date, relevant, knowledge in key areas including housing, benefits, debt, immigration and more. In the course of a day, you’ll usually be working with service users across multiple of these issues and supporting engagement with a wide range of external agencies such as health services, local authorities, charities and more, to get access to services for those you are supporting.
Your main roles and responsibilities will be:
- Undertake phone and in person outreach to introduce the Hand Up service to Roma Big Issues vendors
- Delivery of direct intervention to Roma vendors using guidance and resources provided
- Join meetings with Roma Vendors and Outreach Workers to support with action planning and provision of support and guidance
- Support with translation and interpretation within your local team to enable accessibility of the service for Roma vendors
- Support the local Hand Up Service to build current knowledge of local and national agencies that can support Roma vendors
- Support the organisation and delivery with Roma Vendors of 1-2-1 and group training sessions and drop-ins
- Ensure that your work meets service standards and targets and complete surveys with vendors as required
- Involving Roma service users in the service design and delivery as local and national opportunities arise

As the FSW you will carry out risk and needs assessments, safety planning and support planning with survivors and advocate on their behalf with external agencies. You will provide ongoing casework support, including referrals to specialist advice and practical support, such as legal advice around civil and criminal remedies. You will empower survivors with information on their rights and options, demystifying complex statutory systems and dispelling myths perpetuated by perpetrators and wider society and will provide support to maintain accommodation, or to source permanent accommodation as necessary.
About You
You will have a passion for working with victim/survivors and a thorough understanding of domestic abuse and its impact on women and their children, as well as experience of providing emotional and practical support and strong casework management skills.

About the role:
As a Caseworker, you will;
- receive incoming referrals from a range of sources including the police, other agencies & individuals
- assess needs & risks & action plans with those affected by crime
- use our case management system to update case notes & record risk & needs
- give up to date information to victims of crime about the criminal justice system process
- liaise with other agencies where required to provide advocacy for the service user
- work with other criminal justice system agencies to ensure a trauma informed & victim friendly response
- promote the service, ensuring it is accessible & open to all
- work with the wider team to ensure an effective, trauma informed service
You will be a confident and empathic person who can work well under pressure. You will be speaking to people who may be upset, angry or in emotional difficulties and will need to be composed, empathic and be able to quickly assess situations. You will be confident in using your IT skills to work on a case management system, access phone and online systems, email and Microsoft Office programmes.

About the role:
This role is home working based with travel in the London Area.
As a Homicide Service Children's and Young People caseworker you will be:
- Delivering a specialist service to children and young people (CYP) bereaved by homicide, and for those CYP who have witnessed a homicide.
- Working collaboratively and jointly within the Homicide Service and other relevant organisations that can help to progress identified needs and ensure that young people are central to all processes that involve them.

We are looking for a Triage and Wellbeing Worker to be the first point of contact for Age UK Redbridge, Barking and Havering enquiries and provide triage and signposting to relevant internal and external services.
The Triage and Wellbeing Worker will be the first point of contact for Older People, Carers, Professionals & Visitors who approach Age UK RBH, either by telephone or visit to the Age UK office.
The post holder will identify the information, advice and support needs of older people and their carers who are referred or make contact with Age UK RBH and signpost or refer them, where necessary to the most appropriate service or organisation both internally & externally.
You will need to have experience of providing information and signposting by telephone as well as experience of working with older people or vulnerable groups and their carers (preferable). The post holder requires excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively both written and spoken as well as the ability to organise self, prioritise varied workloads, plan effectively. We are looking for someone with a Good understanding of issues affecting older people and their carers.
The position requires good computer skills including fast, accurate data entry and internet research and accurate record keeping are also required. An appropriate DBS Disclosure will be carried out for this post.
