As the Database Officer, you will play a key role in managing and supporting the organisation’s Beacon CRM system. You will ensure that the data remains accurate, the processes are efficient, and colleagues receive the training and support they need to use it effectively. This role involves troubleshooting user queries, maintaining system security, and delivering improvements that enhance data quality and usability. You will also contribute to projects that integrate new processes and systems, helping the organisation maximise the value of its data. About you

The ideal candidate will have proven experience supporting and maintaining CRM systems within a not-for-profit environment. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to learn new technologies quickly are essential. Knowledge of data management best practices, GDPR, and charity sector operations are desirable. Excellent communication skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to build positive relationships will help you succeed in this role.

If you join us at Turn2us, you will start on 25 days annual leave per annum (prorated for part time workers). About the role

We’re looking for a resourceful, experienced public affairs manager to join our dedicated team working to bringjustice, meaningful recognition and lasting health improvements to a community that has suffered as a result of the biggest treatment scandal in NHS history.

This is a rare opportunity to work for an organisation with a high profile within the political and health policy landscape with a 50-year track record of effective advocacy for our small community of people living with genetic and acquired bleeding disorders and their families. Most importantly, this role has the potential to directly improve peoples’ lives. 

Around two thirds of our members are impacted by the contaminated blood scandal of the 1970s and 80s, which was recently investigated by the Infected Blood Inquiry. The resulting report in 2024 recommended improved health resources for people with bleeding disorders as well as compensation and support for those infected and affected by the scandal.

Although significant progress has been made, there’s a lot more to do. Maintaining political pressure and keeping this issue in the public eye are essential to ensure our members receive the support and recognition they deserve. As public affairs manager you will bring energy, contacts, knowledge and ideas to strengthen and broaden engagement with MPs, peers and decision-makers. 

In addition to our infected blood work, you will support other projects, including challenging gender inequality in accessing treatment and care and ensuring that people living with rare bleeding disorders have access to the latest cutting edge technologies.

We are the only UK-wide charity for all those affected by a genetic bleeding disorder, a community of individuals and families, healthcare professionals and supporters.

For more than 75 years we have campaigned for better treatment, been a source of information and advice and supported people living with life-long conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop our public affairs strategy to forward the policy goals of THS 
• Translate the governmenthealth strategy and communicate its impact on the bleeding disorders community.
• Support the APPG on Haemophilia and Contaminated Blood, acting in capacity as THS secretariat to the group
• Develop and maintain relationships with MPs, peers and other health policy stakeholders. Recognising and creating opportunities to promote the work and strategies of THS and raise issues in the houses
• Working closely with the team to lead on the legislative changes which would impact on the infected blood community 
• Represent the interests of THS and its policies at parliamentary events and relevant stakeholder groups
• Represent THS in areas such as the life sciences,access to treatment and care in the UK

·Track relevant activity in Westminster and provide relevant updates to colleagues

• Work alongside communications team to produce updates on public affairs activities.

The Role

Our Human Resources and Facilities team are responsible for providing a high standard of support to our staff, who are based throughout the UK.

This exciting and high-profile role is responsible for leading on all operational HR & Facilities activity within the charity. About the Advisory Panel
The Advisory Panel is a meeting of the four Council’s committees (Companies, Education, Registration, and Standards) in plenary session. They are established by statute for the purpose of giving advice and assistance to Council (whether or not in response to a request from them) on:

• matters relating to business registrants other than matters required by the Opticians Act to be referred to the Investigation Committee, the Registration Appeals, Committee or the Fitness to Practise Committee; 

• matters relating to optical training, education, and assessment; 

• matters relating to registration, other than matters required by the Opticians Act to be considered by the Registration Appeals Committee; and 

• matters relating to the standards of conduct and performance expected of registrants or those seeking admission to the register. 

Time Commitment and Remuneration 

This role is part time with a commitment of approximately 2-3 days per year, including time spent preparing for meetings.  Meetings will usually take place via MS Teams but may on occasion be held at the GOC Offices in London or other suitable venues.

A daily fee of £319 will be paid. This is in line with our member fees policy and member fee schedule.  This is taxable and subject to Class 1 National Insurance (NI) contributions. It is not pensionable.

Members can claim expenses for travel and subsistence costs incurred on Council business as set out in our expenses policy.

The Organisation

I'm recruiting on behalf of a small, globally connected Christian organisation based in London, with an annual income of approximately £2 million. This is a faith-based environment and the role suits someone who is comfortable working in a setting where Christian values shape the culture and daily rhythm of the organisation.

The Job

This is a hands-on Director of Finance role, responsible for leading the financial strategy and operations of the organisation and two related charities. You'll manage a small team (currently one full-time and one part-time staff member) and report directly to the Chief Exec equivalent.

Key responsibilities include:
- Leading financial planning, budgeting, reporting, and controls
- Overseeing statutory accounts and audit processes
- Supporting funding applications and donor reporting
- Advising senior leadership and trustees on financial matters
- Managing financial operations including payroll, tax, and cash flow

This is a full-time role (35 hours/week), with the option of a 1-2 year contract, and a strong likelihood of extension.

The Person

We're looking for a qualified accountant with experience in charity finance and a strong understanding of financial controls, reporting, and strategic planning. The organisation will also consider a candidate who has worked at a senior level with a smaller organisation and has a strong desire to work with this organisation. You'll need excellent Excel skills and familiarity with accounting systems (SAP Business One experience is a plus but not essential).

Scripture Union England & Wales (SU) one of the UK’s longest-established children and youth ministry organisations is  working in partnership with Activate, an exciting local sport and wellbeing project, to offer this unique role to reach many more young people in the Bushy Park area and across the South of England through physical activity. 

We’re looking for a creative and entrepreneurial individual with a passion for using sport to help children and young people across the South of England to explore and respond to the good news of Jesus. 

This unique role combines the benefits of direct face-to-face engagement with young people in a local context, delivering mission through sport activities and programmes, while also developing and mentoring others to expand ministry across the South region. The ideal candidate will have equal passion and experience in both contexts. 

Key details: Employed by Scripture Union you will spend three days per week developing sports mission across London and the South. For two days per week, you will work on the Activate sports and wellbeing project working across the Bushy Park area.

Location: Home based with travel across London and the wider south region for SU & St Peter’s Church in West Molesey for Activate.

About Scripture Union  

You might have heard of us before if you're one of the 1.5 million+ who have attended one of our Christian holidays or missions over the years, or maybe you're one of the 40,000+ subscribers to have used our brilliant devotionals or been stirred by our exceptional bible resources. We've been at this for a fair few years... over 150 to be precise. Over this time, we’ve remained passionate about helping children and young people develop a vibrant faith in Jesus. As our name describes, the radical power of God's word has always been central to our approach.

We still do all the great stuff with resources and holidays, but in the last few years, we have sharpened our vision with a renewed focus to help the 95% of young people (primary and secondary school age) across the UK who have never stepped foot inside a church, to hear and respond to the good news of Jesus. We do this through equipping and resourcing the local church, training up volunteers from local churches (we call them ‘Faith Guides’) and collaborating with local and national partners across the UK to connect with children and young people and support them on a journey of exploring faith in a way that is relevant and meaningful.

Since 2015, SU has had a dedicated Mission Through Sport team which contributes directly towards this outreach to the 95. We have recently developed some innovative new resources, aligned with the RJ framework, which the post holder will be involved in both delivering and equipping others to utilise. These include our flagship programme called Holy Ground which empowers churches to adopt a local sports space in their community to connect with the 95 in their context. Half Time is our brand new Explore-Respond resource which uses sports-themed videos and fun games to help the 95 to explore the life of Jesus by journeying through Mark’s Gospel. 

About Activate 

Activate is a sport and physical activity-based programme, formed in 2018, seeking to build community through wellbeing that invigorates faith.  Activate seeks to release God’s people to join in his mission through sport and physical activity in the areas surrounding Bushy Park. This includes gathering, encouraging and empowering local Christians involved in sports ministry, including expressions of chaplaincy and missional communities centred around sports clubs, centres, educational settings and gyms.  A number of local churches across denominations and Dioceses have been supporters of the project. 

In the past Activate has supported sports projects in local schools, an activity-based church service, wellbeing cafe sessions, exercise sessions for the elderly and youth activities.  The successful candidate will be involved in re-launching Activate’s mission after a break due to staff changes. 

About your team

With this role, you will have the benefit of being part of a national-focused sports team at SU, as well as the south team with a regional focus and the local context with Activate. You’ll work out of the office of St Peter’s Church, West Molesey, benefiting from the support of a local parish-based team including clergy and youth workers. You’ll contribute your expertise in a variety of settings, ranging from urban and suburban to coastal and rural areas across the south. You’ll have a brilliant time getting acquainted with this rich tapestry of local and national partners. Across the south region, we currently work with 130 churches and have 150 faith guides. We’d like to see these numbers grow significantly over the next few years and believe that a vibrant sports ministry can contribute meaningfully to this.

The Role

The role of the Events team within Alpha International is to oversee the organising of Leadership Conference (LC) in-person, any events around Leadership Conference (including Donor events, Wednesday CEF event, Alpha Staff day, regional satellite events) and London-based Alpha events across the year (such as Alpha Collective and Experience Alpha).
This role is responsible for managing health and safety across the HTB sites, catering (crew, bloom café, Brompton road food vans and green rooms), internal deliveries and LC app, along with other LC related tasks.

The Key Responsibilities

Logistical arrangements:

o Development and execution of the events Day Plan. This is a minute-by-minute detailed plan that holds all the information of what will take place at the event

o Gathering technical and logistical requirements from speakers, stream leaders and internal departments; then negotiating this with the IT, Production, Vergers and Volunteers Teams or with an external venue or AV suppliers

o Determining catering requirements and caterer management

o Hiring of any additional venues as required and HTB site logistics

o Attending site visits (for external venues that might be used)

o Hiring of any additional equipment required for the event

o Liaising with the Production, IT, Verger, Worship team and all other internal departments

o Ensuring any legal and insurance tasks are thought about and in place for the event taking place

o Creating floor plans for the vergers to use

o Liaising on interpretation needs are met including BSL

o Liaising regarding speakers and associated tasks including contracts, gifts and accommodation

o Liaising and implementing programme decisions

o Developing and implementing new floor plans and layouts at events 

o Ensuring event Health and Safety has been implemented 

o Delivery plans 

o Any other event related task

Marketing and communications: 

o Working closely with the marketing team on the marketing plan and budget

o Steer and monitor social media campaigns, alongside internal creative services teams

o Ensuring all GDPR protocols are followed – keeping the login access tracker up to date

o Overseeing LC app contract and content

o Delegate collateral e.g. packing tote bags

Staffing:

o Volunteer recruitment working closely with the Alpha leadership on this

o Communication with HTB staff as to their specific roles and responsibilities & conducting staff briefings

o Building working relationships with volunteers and team when onsite

Registration and Ticketing:

o Oversight of the busy Leadership Conference inbox for guest queries

o Creating booking system for taking in person events registrations using an online event platform

o Ensuring the Alpha leadership gets regular booking reports

o Oversight of IT equipment owned by team

o Granting access to systems

Safeguarding 

o Linking in with the Safeguarding Lead if any safeguarding issues come up in the inboxes or at the event

Debrief

o Debrief to be done for different areas involved in 

Leadership Conference Week Responsibilities

o Taking a lead role on several key packages assigned to this role

o Create and maintain comprehensive event documentation

o Writing papers on the different areas for senior management to review as and when is required

o Stay within the budget allocated and make adjustments to event constraints based on financial situation. Looking for ways to save money on all areas you look after

o Developing and implementing new and improved processes 

o Holding the Alpha standard on communication in everything we do or send before, during or after the event

o Attend senior leadership meetings to provide updates as an when is required on your different areas

o Managing admin across the event, dealing with sign off,  budgets and compiling post event reporting – to take learnings for next years event

o Looking at ways to improve LC year on year by researching competitor events and market knowledge

o Any other event related tasks to support Head of Events

Helping on the day at CEF events across the year (such as Alpha Collective, Experience Alpha, Rising Generation).
