The service users at Lunedale Road are looking for support staff who can cook, enjoy arts and crafts and who don’t mind being outdoors whatever the weather! The service users require staff who are able to adapt quickly and think on their feet to provide person-centred support.
The service users at Lunedale Road have a learning disability; mental health needs; Autism and/or some behaviour that challenge, experience is advantageous but not essential. The Service is provided in 3 bungalows to 5 adults aged between 18 and 72 years of age on a 1-1 basis; 3 clients require 2-1 support when out in the community.
A clean manual driving licence is essential alongside a willingness to drive service users’ cars.
You will have skills in positive communication and engagement and will be able to demonstrate unconditional positive regard for the people we support. You will have the confidence to be able to work within a positive behaviour support framework, to accept responsibility and to develop as a skilled practitioner. We are seeking highly motivated Relief Support Workers to support people with autism spectrum conditions and other needs living in a bespoke supported living service in Little Thurrock to enjoy an excellent quality of life, wellbeing and opportunities for personal development. The service will offer an empowering, strengths-based model of support which enables people to lead fulfilling and valued lives, maintain their tenancies, participate in their local community, develop independent living skills and achieve their personal goals and desired outcomes.
Your role will involve providing care and support in a personalised and responsive manner. You will provide respectful personal care and support to enable people to develop their quality of life and independence. This will include providing support to build confidence and skills in all activities of daily living. You will enable people to establish a positive and meaningful lifestyle, build community connections and relationships with others.
Prior relevant paid or voluntary work experience of supporting people with autism, a learning disability and/or mental health needs is essential. We are looking for individuals who have the following personal qualities and attitudes:

This is a Relief Support Worker position which enables you to pick up shifts at a time that suits you, which is ideal for fitting around personal commitments, study or caring responsibilities. The flexible shift pattern includes evenings, weekends and sleep-ins.

We are looking for a calm, resourceful and enthusiastic Senior Support Worker to join our friendly team. You will provide person-centred care and support to tenants, enabling them to take part in all aspects of everyday life and enjoy a wide range of activities. You will have skills in positive communication and engagement, and will be able to demonstrate unconditional positive regard for the people we support. You will have the maturity to be able to work within a positive behaviour support framework, to accept responsibility and to grow in confidence as a skilled practitioner. You must be able to follow agreed guidelines and to work positively within a consistent and mutually supportive team.
The service is characterised by a high level of service user and family involvement and we are keen to develop this further. You will have the opportunity to undertake the responsible role of being a Key Worker/Co-Key Worker. This will enable you to plan alongside members of the person’s wider support network, to enable individuals to be happy, healthy and successful in achieving their wishes and aspirations.
You must be willing to actively embrace all aspects of the role including support with personal care and domestic tasks, as well as social engagement and community activities such as walking, swimming and going to the gym. The ability to support people with a wide range of presenting needs is essential. As a Senior Support Worker, you will assist the management team to lead and supervise a team of Support Workers to implement individualised support, ensuring consistency and effective communication throughout. Prior experience of supporting adults with learning disabilities is essential. You must also have (or be willing to work towards) a relevant qualification, such as the NVQ Diploma in Health and Social Care level 2 or 3.
