About the role

As a policy fellow, you will be a key member of our dynamic policy team, contributing to a wide range of projects that influence the national health and care policy in England. About the role:

The Alcohol Behavioural Change Specialist is responsible for collaboratively designing and implementing, evidence-based programmes applying appropriate behavioural change models aimed at reducing alcohol-related harm, and promoting long-term behavioural change related to alcohol consumption.

As a leading charity focused on alcohol harm reduction, the postholder will be Drinkaware’s internal expert regarding alcohol harm to individuals and will have a good understanding of brief interventions, as well as information, advice and guidance including quality assurance across our work. They will work across the organisation providing expert advice and guidance.

Programme & Intervention Development

• Work with the Head of operations to develop and implement personalised intervention strategies to help individuals reduce alcohol consumption, using evidence-based behavioural change techniques through our app and other digital tools.

• Collaborate with lived experience panel and Independent Advisory Panel to create comprehensive alcohol-related behavioural health programmes.

• Utilise your experience of motivational interviewing, cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), and other evidence-based practices to promote lasting change in alcohol use behaviours across Drinkaware’s activity.

• Stay up to date on the latest research in alcohol use, behavioural change methods to inform programme development and interventions.

Content & Communication

• Work with the Marketing & Content team to produce engaging content for public audiences ensuring accuracy and effectiveness of advice and guidance in all Drinkaware messaging.

• Work with the Digital and Content team to ensure the Drinkaware website content is relevant and up to date.

• Presenting our insights, programmes and tools to external stakeholders including funders, public health departments etc.

Insight & Evaluation

• Work with the Research team in the translation of research insights and publications into programme development.

• Work with the Impact team to ensure impact monitoring and quality assurance is embedded in all work undertaken by Drinkaware and support colleagues to monitor and measure the quality of its work with a view to ensuring high quality standards and continuous improvement.

Governance & Safeguarding

• Work with the Head of Operations to ensure Safeguarding is embedded within all programme delivery.

About you:

This role requires a deep understanding of psychological theories, behavioural science, and addiction, along with practical experience in behavioural interventions.

Qualifications and/or experience

• Degree or higher in Psychology, Behavioural change, Public Health, or a related field. Certification or training in Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, or other relevant therapeutic approaches is highly desirable.

Essential Criteria / Key Skills

• Strong understanding of behavioural science theories and experience of how to apply them to alcohol use, with proficiency in delivering behavioural change techniques.
• Proven experience in developing and implementing behavioural change interventions, particularly in the context of alcohol or addiction.
• Experience with digital health applications is desirable.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate individuals at all stages of behavioural change.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess, plan, and implement effective behavioural change programmes.
• Demonstrable knowledge and experience of working in the health sector and have a passion for reducing alcohol harm in the UK.
• Experience working in partnership with internal and external agencies and organisation
• Experience of working collaboratively across internal departments and teams
• Knowledge of public health initiatives and policies related to alcohol use.
• Data analysis and program evaluation experience.
• Confident public speaker able to represent Drinkaware at events, conferences and in the media.
• Ability to work independently and autonomously, prioritise tasks, and adapt to changing circumstances.
• Understanding of safeguarding legislation and practical application in delivery of programmes
• Able to manage sensitive conversations with professionalism and care and resilient when under pressure.

About the role:

This is a home based role that will include travel across England and Wales when delivering training. You will be working within a specific project that delivers learning externally to other organisations outside of VS. Your primary goal will be to design and deliver high quality learning interventions based on what our customers need.

As an External Trainer you will:

You will need:

Raystede is a unique and forward-thinking multi-species animal charity that has an exciting opportunity for a new Veterinary Nurse. This role will support Raystede in its aims to give animals a better life through rehoming, rehabilitation and sanctuary, and give people the support and knowledge they need to treat animals with care and respect. With passionate teams, a wide variety of animals, high welfare standards, and a drive to find as many animals as possible new homes, this is a fantastic opportunity not to be missed.

 As a Veterinary Nurse you will be expected to support Raystede’s clinical work in our on-site veterinary surgery and assist with the day to day running of the practice. You will build close working relationships with our expert animal care teams, and also be involved with Raystede more widely as we work to assist as many animals as possible.

 The client base is primarily internal, supporting the animals that we accept for rehoming or that live with us in sanctuary. Most interaction with animals not owned by Raystede will be with animals rehomed by us that need to return for agreed procedures or treatments, as part of our veterinary community days, or on occasions where we agree to provide emergency treatment that cannot be supported elsewhere. You will also be part of supporting animals being cared for on our Break Away scheme where we find temporary foster homes for animals belonging to people fleeing domestic abuse, or unable to find care for them due to short term hospital stays.

 The majority of the clinical workload will be in response to the needs of our most commonly rehomed species those being dogs, cats, rabbits, other small animals, and chickens. However, we do also have large numbers of chelonia, exotic birds, and other fowl on site. Experience with the more exotic species is something you will be supported in building, and we also have access to specialist external vets to assist and advise with those animals. Raystede also rehomes equines, sheep, goats, and alpaca which are currently all supported by an external large animal veterinary practice so experience with those species is not necessary for this role.

International Care Network (ICN) is a Christian charity whose aim is to help to rebuild the lives of asylum seekers, refugees and vulnerable migrants. The Community team provides a programme of support and activities for our ICN service users. Working closely with the prison and their staff, people in prison, Shannon Trust volunteers and mentors, this post will lead the delivery and development of our prison-based reading and numeracy programme, maximising opportunities for people in prison to learn to read.

You will shape the long-term direction of the department, ensure the right people and processes are in place, and play a key role in supporting the organisation’s broader income generation goals — including supporting the CEO with major donor stewardship. 
 
While the department’s primary focus is income growth through challenge events and corporate partnerships, the role also includes oversight of a small number of legacy community events and relationships ensuring continuity and reputational stewardship. 
 

Key Responsibilities: 

Strategic Leadership & Department Building 

• Develop and lead the overall strategy for the Fundraising & Events department in line with the organisation’s income growth objectives. 
• Design and build a departmental structure capable of delivering scalable fundraising through events and partnerships. 
• Recruit, lead, and manage a high-performing team, ensuring clarity of roles, effective delegation, and strong performance management. 
• Establish systems, workflows, and processes that support growth, quality, and consistency across all fundraising activity. 
• Set and monitor departmental KPIs, targets, and budgets, reporting regularly to the CEO and Senior Leadership Team.

Challenge Events Programme 

• Oversee the strategic growth and diversification of the organisation’s challenge events portfolio, building on successful formats and expanding into new areas. 
• Provide leadership and oversight of event planning, delivery, and evaluation — ensuring the team has the tools and capabilities to execute effectively. 
• Identify and guide strategic partnerships with external groups and communities that can support participant growth and event reach. 

Corporate Fundraising 

• Design and implement a new corporate fundraising strategy
• Lead the identification and prioritisation of strategic corporate opportunities. 
• Guide the creation of partnership models, engagement materials, and stewardship plans, supporting the team in execution. 
• Develop the necessary infrastructure (e.g. pipeline management, prospecting systems) for long-term corporate fundraising success. 

Major Donor Support 

• Act as a senior partner to the CEO in managing and stewarding major donors. 
• Ensure the department provides the research, briefing, and coordination required to support a best-in-class major donor experience. 

Legacy Community Fundraising 

• Provide oversight and continuity for a limited number of legacy community events, ensuring they are delivered with appropriate resource and quality. 
• Work with the Fundraising & Events Manager to assess the future viability of these events and how they may integrate with or exit from the broader fundraising strategy. 
• Maintain key relationships with mosque and school partners to preserve goodwill and support transitional planning. 

Team Leadership 

• Line manage the Fundraising & Events Manager, providing coaching, strategic direction, and performance support. 
• Ensure the team structure remains fit for purpose as event formats, income goals, and capacity evolve. 
• Delegate operational oversight of individual events and activities while maintaining accountability for departmental outcomes. 

Cross-Organisational Leadership 

• Represent fundraising and events at the senior leadership level, contributing to organisational strategy and decision-making. 
• Foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement across teams. 
• Uphold high standards of integrity, professionalism, and alignment with the charity’s values and mission. 

Essential Skills and Experience

• Significant experience in a senior fundraising or income generation role, including designing and delivering strategy at a departmental level.
• Strong track record of building and leading high-performing teams. 
• Experience growing and managing challenge events or mass participation programmes, either directly or through team leadership. 
• Proven ability to develop income streams, including events and corporate fundraising, from inception to sustainability. 
• Commercially minded, with strong strategic planning and budget management skills. 
• Excellent relationship-building skills and comfort engaging at senior/executive levels. 
• High levels of initiative, resilience, and the ability to lead in a remote-first environment. 

Desirable 

• Experience supporting major donor programmes or working in close partnership with a CEO or Director-level fundraiser. 
• Familiarity with charity CRMs and performance reporting tools. 
• Experience working within a faith-informed or values-driven organisation.

Job Summary

Advance delivers nationally accredited, high quality domestic abuse services across London. Advance's domestic abuse services are community based and include local authority commissioned advocacy services, co-located projects in a range of settings such as housing and children’s social care, and specialist projects for victim/survivors with different intersecting needs including children and young people.

As a Peripatetic Independent Domestic Violence Advocate (IDVA), you will provide front line support across Advance’s domestic abuse services, covering vacancies across teams to ensure service delivery remains effective and consistent. You will cover a range of roles all involving advocacy and support of people experiencing domestic abuse; some roles may also involve co-locating with partner agencies, delivering training or undertaking triage and assessment work. Your office location and pattern of work will change depending on your placement however all roles offer the opportunity for some hybrid working.

This role is an excellent opportunity to develop skills, knowledge and experience in a range of settings and would suit someone who is passionate about advocating for victim/survivors of domestic abuse. To be successful as the Peripatetic IDVA you will need the below experience and skills:

You will have an excellent understanding of domestic violence and its effects on women and children and of best practice within the domestic abuse in various areas of need, with particular knowledge of safeguarding and legislation. As an experienced domestic violence advocate who has worked with complex and multiple needs, the post holder will be skilled in risk management and safety planning, remaining calm in a crisis and in handling sensitive information on a daily basis. Experience of direct work with female survivors of domestic violence, of supporting women with child safeguarding, needs, and of working within safeguarding procedures is essential for this post, as is the need to adopt and promote a strong partnership approach to service provision.

FearFree delivers services across the Southwest for victims, children and perpetrators of domestic abuse, sexual violence and stalking, with the aim to break the cycle of abuse and support all to live free from fear. We provide trauma responsive support, and this post will be fundamental to ensuring service users, stakeholders and partners experience this in our daily delivery. 

Our ISAC Service is a small team, providing specialist stalking advice, consultancy and support to high risk victims of stalking across Gloucestershire. You will be working in a multi-agency environment including police, other statutory bodies and third sector organisations to respond to and safeguard high risk victims, bridging gaps in their support. 

FearFree is committed to flexible and hybrid working and this role will be a mix of home based and office based, alongside requiring travel for multi-agency meetings and other deliverables.

This role may include evening and weekend work when required. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Work with high risk victims of stalking, providing a targeted service, promoting safety as the central issue and thus reducing the risk of serious harm or death. 
• To provide this service both at time of crisis and in the longer term e.g. safety planning, risk assessing advocacy, support through the criminal justice/civil legal process and liaison with other statutory and voluntary agencies. 
• Complete specialist risk assessments (SASH and DASH). 
• Manage a caseload ensuring each person receives the appropriate service individual to their risk and needs. 
• Provide proactive, trauma responsive and holistic support, with a focus on increasing safety and reducing risk. 
• Work with criminal justice agencies via Gloucestershire’s multi-agency Stalking Clinic as well as a variety of partners including Victim Support, Children’s Social Care, GDASS and GRASAC to ensure a comprehensive approach to risk. 
• Provide specialist advocacy to victims going through the criminal justice process. 
• Attend Multi Agency meetings (Stalking Clinic) and Multi-agency Risk Assessment Conferences (MARAC) and Multi Agency Public Protection Arrangements (MAPPA) meetings as required. 
• Give information and support to those experiencing stalking, enabling and empowering them to make positive choices about options available to them and assist them in regaining control of their lives. 
• Support other agencies in the identification and referral of stalking issues via promotion of service and institutional advocacy. 
• Offer professional consultancy, training and advice to other agencies on stalking. 
• Respect and value the diversity of the community in which the services works in, and recognise the needs and concerns of a diverse range of survivors, ensuring the service is accessible to all.
• Support colleagues and the Head of Service to monitor data and report on quality outcomes. 

General
