Launched in 2024, Making Waves is our flagship one-to-one music-making programme designed for people at risk of offending or those leaving prison. Over 10 sessions, participants work with a professional producer in our private studio to create, record, and release their own music, building confidence and gaining new skills along the way. Alongside music-making, participants can also gain a King’s Trust qualification in Personal Development and Employability Skills, receive tailored mentoring from Trailblazers to support them into employment, and join our alumni programme for live performance opportunities, industry masterclasses, and ongoing support.

The Programme Coordinator is a new role within the Finding Rhythms team. Based on the success of the Making Waves programme over the last year, we now are in the process of expansion - with plans to increase delivery and engage more participants. The Programme Coordinator fulfills an essential role to support successful expansion of the programme whilst maintaining maximum impact for participants and partners.

To be successful in the role, you will be a highly motivated and proactive individual. You will support the day-to-day running of the programme on site, providing administrative support, and being the first point of contact for programme participants. You will have a person-centred approach, empathy and patience, alongside excellent attention to detail and an ability to think ahead. You will be passionate about music’s ability to transform lives.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

REFERRALS AND ON-BOARDING
● Processing a high volume of referrals of participants onto the programme, in a time-effective manner, ensuring all essential information is gathered and recorded
● Communicating regularly with participants and referral partners on the status and timeframe of their place on the programme
● Responding to general enquiries about the programme and distributing relevant information
● Encouraging participants to attend including identifying issues and providing solutions
● Briefing participants in the lead up and throughout the duration of the programme
● Being the on site point of liaison for the programme

PROGRAMME COORDINATION
● Ensuring all relevant paperwork is completed and processed
● Updating the musician and Programme Manager with key information in the lead up to sessions and on the day
● Liaising with partnering organisation Trailblazers Mentors and participants to organise mentoring sessions on-site and online
● Ensuring the studio is clean, tidy, and correctly equipped
● Ensuring studio ‘rules’ are adhered to and sessions run smoothly, flagging any issues to the Programme Manager
● Supporting the Programme Manager with the alumni programme including the organisation of live performance events and industry masterclasses

OUTREACH AND COMMUNICATIONS
● Organising and attending outreach and taster sessions across multiple locations (some of which will take place in prisons)
● Being the main point of contact for participants and alumni, sending reminders and general information about upcoming events
● Supporting on organisation and coordination of Finding Rhythms events
● Taking photographs for social media, sharing ‘success stories’ and case studies

Service Delivery:

• Liaise with the board of trustees to ensure the charity’s governance, structure, policies and procedures are appropriate 
and effective, taking remedial measures and implementing change as necessary. This includes supporting board 
development.
• Work closely with the Chair and Board of Trustees to support strong governance and informed decision-making.
• Provide accurate and timely reporting on organisational performance, risks, and impact.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory guidance and legislation, including the Charity Commission and the Fundraising 

Finance & Fundraising:
• Working with the Chief Operating Officer and the Board of Trustees, ensure Mermaids has robust, deliverable fundraising 
and finance strategies in place, and subsequent action plans are embedded throughout the organisation to support their 
delivery.
• In partnership with the Chief Operating Officer, ensure Mermaids has robust finance, HR, IT, data privacy and governance processes and procedures are embedded.

People and Culture:
• Line manage senior staff including the COO and service delivery managers.
• Foster a positive, collaborative, inclusive internal culture that values lived experience and wellbeing.
• Continue work to embed a culture of equity, diversity and inclusion across the organisation, as well as a focus on accessibility.
• Work to define and drive trans-centred leadership across the organisation, including ensuring that the organisation is a trans-positive, supportive employer.

External Engagement and Advocacy:
• Represent Mermaids publicly, including acting as the key spokesperson and strategic policy stakeholder, ensuring 
organisational awareness of the external landscape and the changing needs of trans children, young people and their 
families, and advocating for these needs to be met.
• Lead communications strategy, and lead press engagement by responding to media inquiries, interviews, press conferences and media events.
• Lead on stakeholder engagement, including with funders, supporters, community partners, and policy influencers.
• Advocate for the rights and needs of trans and gender-diverse children, young people and the significant others in their lives at a national level.

Job Purpose

The Partnership Coordinator role is varied, offering the chance to develop a wide range of skills. The role will involve undertaking a broad range of important duties, including taking responsibility for a key part of our organisation. This will include reporting on monthly performance, managing grants (both income and expenditure grants), preparing the annual budget, preparing the annual statutory accounts and taking responsibility for the annual audit, reporting to and liaising with our international head office, and preparing the agenda and papers for and attending trustee meetings.

The role:

• Responsibility for all aspects of the financial management of Greenpeace Environmental Trust (GET), a registered charity.
• Responsibility for the preparation of annual statutory accounts, annual report, and conducting the annual audit.
• Work with the Events team to ensure that the budgeting, financial control and management, and reporting of the Glastonbury Festival and all other festivals and events is conducted in an accurate and timely manner.
• Preparation of the annual budget and presentation to the board of trustees.
• Preparation of monthly management accounts and written finance report to trustees and other key stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate cash flow management and forecasting procedures to proactively manage all cash balances.
• Manage the grant-making process and account for all grant income received.
• Review restricted income, ensuring correct documentation is received and the restrictions are applied.
• Maintain policies and procedures ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation.
• Continually work to develop and improve the quality and usefulness of our reporting.
• Providing financial analysis, including trends and areas of opportunity or concern for budget holders and other stakeholders.
• Work with other Deputy Head of Finance and the programme co-ordinator to proactively improve all aspects of the financial management of the programme department’s activities in relation to activity funded by GET.

The successful candidate will:

• Be a qualified, or a finalist Accountant (ACCA/ACA/CIMA or other chartered accountancy qualification) or will be qualified by experience.
  • Proven experience of working in a finance function in a hands-on role.
  • Extensive technical knowledge of accounting principles and best practice, with reference to specific UK charity accounting rules and regulations.
  • Substantial experience of management accounting, budgeting, forecasting and reporting.
  • Experience of involvement in financial year-end and annual statutory audit.
  • Proven experience of delivering a business partnering-focused service and providing in-depth insight, analysis and guidance to budget-holders.
• Support and believe in the aims of Greenpeace.
• Have highly developed communication skills with credibility to operate outside the finance function up to senior management level.

What the job involves 

We’re looking for an exceptional nurse to join the Specialist Nurses team at Prostate Cancer UK, part of our wider Support Services team that helps men and their loved ones to navigate the challenges of prostate cancer.

First and foremost, you’ll be providing invaluable information and support directly to men and their families via a range of channels, including telephone, email, webchat, and WhatsApp. 

You’ll also work with other teams across the charity, ensuring that Prostate Cancer UK maintains a strong, credible clinical voice in all its activity. This will range from supporting men through webinars and classes, to delivering education sessions to health professionals, to reviewing health information resources, to supporting communications campaigns. 

Please note that there is no face-to-face patient contact as part of this role, and the team’s remit is contained to information and support – not clinical advice. 

You’ll be working Monday – Friday, with a hybrid working model. The service runs predominantly remotely, but periodical office attendance for collaborative work is expected. 

Current daily shift patterns are 8.45am – 4.45pm or 9.15am – 5.15pm. The appointee will need to be available 8.45am – 5.15pm daily, as shift patterns are allocated based on service requirements.  

What we want from you 

You’ll be a registered nurse with solid experience at NHS Band 6, including recent work in either urology, oncology or palliative care looking after men with prostate cancer. You’ll bring excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to organise and prioritise your work effectively and flexibly. You’ll also be flexible and adaptable to meet the complex demands of this role. You’ll show willingness and proactivity to step away from frontline service delivery to support a range of wider charity activity. You’ll also be comfortable with remote working, both in terms of delivering information and support over the phone and working in a remote team.

As a Specialist Nurse, you’ll be committed, enthusiastic and compassionate – keen to apply your existing clinical experience and knowledge to provide information and support to those affected by prostate cancer and have the desire to develop new skills.

The Wiener Holocaust Library (WHL) is the world’s oldest Holocaust archive and the home of Britain’s largest collection of published and unpublished works, documents and photographs relating to the Nazi era. 

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

We are seeking a highly motivated candidate with strong attention to detail and experience of post-award administration and budget reporting to support our organisational Finance administration, including grant-related budget reporting.

As we are a small organisation, we are looking for someone who is a good team player, keen to be involved in other projects as necessary, and prepared to show willingness to go beyond the terms of the job description. 

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

WHL Finance Administrative Tasks

• Tracking and reconciliation of WHL credit card transactions;

• Recording and reconciliation of donation income

• Recording invoices and expense claims using our account package (SAGE)

• Drafting communications including reports and letters

• Supporting fundraising applications, reporting and communications, including quarterly reporting for special projects.

• Any ad hoc tasks as required.

EHRI-UK and Other Post-Award Tasks:

• Monitor and track WHL EHRI-UK and EHRI budgets, including for EHRI-UK Fellowships

• Monitor and track other expenditure, budgets, invoices and other financial aspects of grants.

Person Specification

Essential Skills:

• Ability to analyse, interpret and report on complex data and information

• Track record of supporting successful funding bids, especially AHRC, EU or other large-scale bodies

• Experience of research development in a higher education setting and/or the heritage sector, including full economic costing

• Excellent verbal and written communications skills, attention to detail, well organised

• Technical capacities (MS Office suite to analyse and produce data, familiarity with some database software)

• Competency using spreadsheet software such as Excel, e.g. pivot tables, calculation using formulae, sum checks

We are looking for an Individual Giving Officer with experience and knowledge of fundraising, direct marketing and project management.

Position: CE375 Individual Giving Officer

Location: Home-based, UK, Nationwide. However, occasional travel will be required as part of this role (may include team meetings or other work-related meetings)

The Role

You’ll be part of an ambitious and highly motivated team responsible for delivering an ambitious and growing Individual Fundraising programme. Working with other officers, you will be reporting to either the Individual Giving Lead responsible for cause related products, or for gaming products.

You’ll be:

• Enthusiastically managing and delivering a range of fundraising and engagement campaigns and communications to develop and maximise support from loyal supporters via multiple channels, including telephone, mail, digital, and SMS.
• Using your fundraising and marketing experience and skills to create successful campaigns and complex supporter journeys to help us grow income and supporter engagement. (Working collaboratively with Digital and Social Teams, as well as external media agencies). Helping deliver on multi million annual plans to retain and recruit new supporters using the most effective techniques and channels, including Face to Face.
• Comfortable with figures and spreadsheets and have a head for figures, as you’ll be diving into the data an managing campaign costs.
• Responsible for maintaining and reporting accurate campaign results and reviews.
• Always looking out for new opportunities, using sprint pipeline methodology (testing, solving, learning from experiments) before scaling.
• Ensuring campaigns and gaming activities are fully compliant at all times… a knowledge of Gambling Commission rules would be a bonus.

About You

We’re looking for an individual who:

• Has great experience and knowledge of fundraising, direct marketing and project management, and can bring a real enthusiasm to the team. This role has a specific focus around supporter acquisition which includes face to face, paid digital, direct mail, telemarketing and eMarketing.
• Is fantastic at organising and prioritising a busy workload and knowledgeable of project management.
• Loves attention to detail and can work on several projects at once whilst thinking outside the box, as things can change quickly!
• In fact loves data and insight and enjoy applying insight to our campaigns
• Is a great all-round communicator, with both internal and external audiences
• And of course, we need you to be a resident of the UK and have the right to work in the UK.

This is a home-based role with occasional travel required.
