As the Alumni Officer, you will be someone who enjoys working with young people and is passionate about supporting them to progress to vibrant degrees and careers in STEM. The post holder will have strong knowledge and understanding of the barriers facing young people from low socioeconomic backgrounds accessing STEM education and careers across the UK.

The Alumni Officer will deliver the continuation of support for hundreds young people who complete the In2STEM programme every year, supporting them with continued support throughout year 13/S6 as they progress to post FE education, apprenticeships and training, and providing long term careers opportunities.

The post holder will be an organised and motivated self-starter who thrives in the face of change, enjoys creative problem solving, working in a team and can achieve deadlines on a tight timescale.

In2scienceUK is a remote-based organisation, that requires occasional travel across the UK for events, internal & external meetings and staff co-working days.

Your specific duties will include:

• Evaluate existing alumni activities to recommend and implement improvements and new initiatives to support the delivery of a high quality programme experience to support In2STEM alumni, aligning with learning objectives, feedback and our theory of change.

• Develop and deliver engaging alumni communications e.g. newsletters & email updates, to keep In2STEM alumni informed of news, opportunities and events.

• Plan, organise and support the delivery of online workshops aligned to support In2STEM alumni progression milestones. 

• Maintaining up to date alumni records, in accordance with data protection, as well as working closely with the Data, Impact and Evaluation Manager to evaluate In2STEM participant progression.

• Support with the collection and creation of case studies and alumni stories to promote alumni achievements and strengthen the community.

• Support the planning and delivery of organisational in-person events e.g. celebration days/conferences.

• Work closely with the In2STEM programme and fundraising teams to ensure funder requirements are met.

As duties and responsibilities change, the job description will be reviewed and amended in consultation with the post holder. Essential: 

• Prior experience managing alumni communities.

• Prior experience of working with students transitioning from further education (particularly year 13/S6) into STEM degrees and careers.

• Excellent organisational skills, able to multitask and manage a varied workload while paying attention to the tiny details

• Experience delivering programmes and/or projects within the education, career development and/or employability sector.

• An understanding of the social and economic barriers that prevent some people from progressing into STEM degrees and careers.

• Experience working with one or more of the following groups: young people, people from low-socioeconomic backgrounds, volunteers, universities or STEM professionals/employers.

• Experience developing and maintaining strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders at various levels.

• Experience designing and delivering events, both online and in-person, such as workshops and networking events.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong presentation skills and an ability to adapt to a range of audiences.

In2research is a high impact and evidence informed social mobility programme for socioeconomically disadvantaged people to access and progress in postgraduate study. Our mission is to drive sector change across institutions towards an inclusive research culture. We strongly believe that it is not enough to guide underrepresented people into postgraduate study, but to ensure that the culture they are entering is inclusive and a place where they can thrive. Over a year, we support participants to gain vital access to both knowledge and opportunities including a paid 8-week research placement and subject specific mentoring. 

As the In2research Alumni Officer, you will deliver a programme of continued support for the In2research participants increasing their ability to apply and be admitted to postgraduate research degrees and opportunities, as well as supporting our mission to foster an increased sense of belonging within the research community for individuals from minority groups. Working within the Individual Giving team, you’ll have a varied role managing and supporting the delivery of supporter-centric fundraising appeals which will recruit, retain and/or develop supporters across the cause-led, gaming, in memory and legacy programmes. These appeals will include utilising online and offline channels such as direct mail, organic and paid social advertising, email, private sites, SMS and telemarketing.

This role would suit someone with some experience of marketing or fundraising or who would like to expand their experience of Individual Giving.

About this role

SPANA is investing in its Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) function. We have established an independent MEAL team within the Global Programmes Directorate (GPD), led by a Head of Data Insights and MEAL. The MEAL team plays a critical role in ensuring that SPANA’s programmes are effective, responsive and continuously progressing to improve the welfare of working animals globally. The MEAL team works closely with SPANA partners based in different countries and with SPANA colleagues across departments.

Reporting to the MEAL Manager, the Data Management Officer is a key role in SPANA’s MEAL team. The role oversees the full data cycle, including supporting partners with consistent data collection, improving data quality assurance, maintaining data systems, setting standards, co-ordinating consolidation of programme data and producing clear analysis and visualisation. Across two sites in Watford and Hemel Hempstead, our work helps to build family resilience in the pivotal early years of a child’s life. Our specialist early intervention work delivering multi-disciplinary therapeutic play sessions, parent training/modelling, family social respite events and family support provides holistic family centred work aiming to build foundational skills for life

The Family Support Lead will coordinate our Family Support service across all locations providing holistic support to families of children with a physical disability/delay living in Hertfordshire, always keeping close adherence to best Safeguarding practice and procedures.

The role involves working with the Head of Family Service and Operations and Head of Development to develop the Support Worker team to deliver high quality family support. This may mean supporting families in group settings, family centres or in the home and holding caseloads with a holistic view in how to best meet need. Working closely with local stakeholders (including but not limited to schools, family hubs, social care, health and other voluntary sector organisations), the wider Playskill team and families, this role will deliver family-centred practice, ensuring positive outcomes for families.

Key Responsibilities

• Work with the Community & Challenge Events Manager to deliver tailored supporter journeys and outstanding stewardship for community and challenge event fundraisers.
• Support the Fundraising & Marketing Officer with stewarding leads and enquiries generated through advertising and outreach.
• Manage community fundraising and challenge event registrations via the MQ website and platforms such as JustGiving.
• Assist with creating engaging marketing and stewardship materials for community and challenge event supporters.
• Contribute to developing new ideas and opportunities that inspire supporters and grow income for mental health research.

Key Activities

• Build and maintain strong, rewarding relationships with MQ fundraisers.
• Work closely with Marketing colleagues to develop compelling content and materials.
• Keep all challenge event listings on the MQ website up to date.
• Respond to social media messages and moderate supporter comments as needed.
• Attend challenge and community events (including some evenings and weekends) to represent MQ and support participants.
• Serve as a key point of contact for third-party event organisers.
• Manage enquiries and registrations from community and challenge event fundraisers.
• Identify and cultivate new fundraising opportunities with schools, colleges, universities, and wider community groups.
• Keep MQ’s database accurate and up to date, working closely with the Senior Data Officer to ensure correct income coding.
• Arrange and send supporter packs and fundraising materials throughout the supporter journey.
• Provide wider team support as required.

Person Specification

We're looking for someone with:

• Experience of fundraising through challenge events or community fundraising.
• Strong communication skills – both written and verbal.
• Ability to build rapport quickly and manage a varied supporter portfolio.
• Creative thinker with the ability to generate and develop new ideas.
• Highly organised, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Confident using digital platforms, CRM databases and social media.
• A positive team player who brings energy and initiative.

We are seeking a Community Development Officer to lead a major in-progress project improving recognition, support, and care for people with smell and taste disorders at a local level across England. 

This three-year, volunteer-led programme, funded by The National Lottery Community Fund has achieved significant success in its first eighteen months. We are now recruiting a new postholder to take this strong foundation forward through the next phase of delivery. 

Over the past eighteen months, we have recruited and established a thriving network of volunteers and local groups across England. This momentum is expected to continue. The Community Development Officer will work closely with existing volunteers and groups, primarily remotely, while also attending in-person events and meetings in different parts of England as needed. 

The postholder will lead the ongoing recruitment, training, and support of volunteer groups, working with them to identify opportunities for local outreach and engagement. Together, you will ensure that more people affected by smell and taste disorders access the information, support, and recognition they need, while continuing to raise awareness of these often-unrecognised sensory impairments. 

Our volunteer groups bring together people with lived experience alongside experts from the food, beverage and fragrance sectors, and other relevant fields.

Operations & Finance Manager

STOP THE TRAFFIK prevents vulnerable communities from being recruited, trafficked, and exploited. Our targeted prevention efforts disrupt the criminal business of human trafficking, making it too high-risk and low-profit to be viable.

This role will sit within the Development Team to support the smooth and efficient operation of the charity. This role will assist in managing financial processes and lead on key people operations to maintain a transparent, inclusive, and positive working environment.

This position is ideal for someone seeking part-time work who holds previous experience working in a finance team, but is seeking a more diverse role that also includes opportunity to enhance operating systems, policies, and practices of the organisation for smooth running.

Finance Operations

· Oversee the Operations Officer to reconcile transactions, issue invoices, process payments, and file quarterly Gift Aid claims ensuring accuracy.

· Prepare regular budgets, cash flows, and clear financial reporting for the Senior Leadership Team to support data-driven decision-making.

· Manage STOP THE TRAFFIK’s bank accounts, ensuring the safe handling and ethical investment of reserves.

· Produce quarterly financial papers for the Board of Trustees and lead on the annual audit process, preparing all necessary documentation for external auditors.

· Liaise with the Oasis Finance Department who support STOP THE TRAFFIK to ensure smooth coordination of accounting processes and compliance with organisational standards.

People Operations

· Review organisational policies annually, ensuring they reflect current legislation and best practice, with support from the Operations Officer.

· Serve as the organisation’s Data Protection Officer (with access to pro-bono legal and data protection advisors).

· Oversee recruitment processes, supporting hiring managers to ensure equitable, transparent, and inclusive hiring practices.

· Coordinate quarterly team surveys, analyse feedback, and make recommendations to strengthen workplace culture and wellbeing.

· Maintain our network of pro-bono legal advisors and support staff in accessing timely advice on contracts or compliance matters.

· Manage the internal legal sign-off process and maintain clear records and documentation.

Note, this role will be supported by our parent company’s financial team who will continue to manage payroll, HR records, and sign-off all accounts.
