Job Profile

CAFOD has an ambition to be digital first in our marketing and communications, to stay ahead of emerging trends and make the most of what digital technology can offer to strengthen our relationships with our supporters and in our ways of working across the organisation. Digital technology has already transformed our communications and will continue to do so. This senior communications and marketing role will be responsible for steering the ongoing digital transformation of CAFODs work, primarily in the supporter programme and also across the wider organisation.

This role encompasses overall responsibility for the brand, digital marketing, messaging, proactive and reactive media relations, with a core focus on digital transformation across all platforms. This post will play a key role in guiding our digital shop fronts and marketing efforts, evolving supporter journeys, steering our email programme and leading on the digital infrastructure to enable delivery of our supporter programme. It will ensure that digital engagement and conversion is embedded and an integral part of our communications planning. 

This role will drive innovation and data-informed insight across the full spectrum of communications and wider organisation functions. It will embed a digital-first approach across teams and guide and accompany the wider organisation on harnessing opportunities of new technologies, making digital engagement integral to communications planning. 

This role will drive brand awareness, brand advocacy and action across our programmes to ensure CAFOD is top of mind amongst the Catholic Community of England and Wales, helping to grow support from our constituency. You will bring proven senior-level experience in digital communications and marketing, ideally within the charity sector. With a strong understanding of communications at a senior level with expert knowledge of digital channels, audience engagement, and online conversion, you also have a strategic grasp of how digital integrates into broader communications and supporter strategies. Your leadership style is collaborative and visionary, and you have the gravitas and expertise to set the digital marketing direction for a large organisation, while bringing all teams along with your vision.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the strategic development, direction setting and delivery of an ambitious, insight-led digital-first communications strategy that enhances supporter journeys, increases engagement and drives measurable growth in support of our supporter programme, especially our parishioner-first fundraising strategy. 

• Act as CAFODs senior expert on communications, advising the Executive team, across departments and influencing strategic decision-making, including on digital direction and development, at the highest level. 

• Lead complex cross-organisational projects that improve our digital supporter experience, from acquisition to long-term engagement and conversion, ensuring timeliness and consistency with supporter programme priorities, especially the parishioner-first fundraising strategy and approach. 

• Provide leadership and overall oversight of external communications and messaging, including brand consistency and press/media engagement, ensuring consistency between our fundraising efforts, our campaigning work and profiling our international work to supporters and key stakeholders.

• Lead and oversee the digital teams - email marketing programme, social media engagement, digital developments, campaigns and the website, to ensure user experience is optimised and platforms support our supporter programme and broader organisational strategic objectives and ambitions. 

• Lead the media team to explore and encourage new approaches including how we further maximise the digital media landscape.

• Line manage senior specialists across digital marketing, website, and media and PR, ensuring high performance and professional growth. 

• Work closely with IT, data and external agencies to ensure agile, secure and effective digital delivery across platforms. 

• Represent the organisation externally where appropriate, with a focus on digital thought leadership. 
• Develop and manage the communications budget effectively, aligning resources to priority areas and demonstrating clear impact. Agree and ensure accountability for objectives and KPIs as part of the wider supporter strategy, fostering a culture of ongoing learning, adaptation and improvement.

Person Specification 

• Extensive experience in a senior digital communications and marketing leadership role, with demonstrable success in developing and delivering integrated and audience-led multi-channel communications and marketing strategies. 
• Strong experience of overseeing development of supporter journeys and objectives, website development, CRM integration and email engagement and conversion. 
• Passionate about digital innovation and technologies, with deep knowledge of platforms, formats, and trends. 
• Committed to insight-led and data-driven approaches with skills to use digital tools, platforms and analytics to shape decisions and measure impact. 
• Excellent leadership, inter-personal and team management skills, with the ability to develop and motivate multi-disciplinary teams. 
• Strong cross-functional project management ability, with experience leading organisational change in digital capability. 
• Understanding of broader communications and marketing disciplines, with the ability to ensure alignment and brand consistency and also oversee media and PR work, including reputational risk and crisis communications. 
• Understanding of the Catholic church in England and Wales and knowledge of Catholic Social Teaching.

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic, pro-active and highly organised Governance Administrator to support the efficient running of our governance arrangements. In this role, you will coordinate and provide high quality support to our committee programme and other key processes such as our grant funding and abstract competitions at Association conferences.

The successful candidate will play a central role in supporting the Association’s governance and operational activities. Collaborating closely with the senior management team, committee Chairs and senior stakeholders, you will contribute directly to the success and impact to the charity.

Hybrid working

About the role

We are seeking a Grants Systems and Business Analyst to join our Foundation, providing subject-area expertise to our grantmaking and wider teams. This exciting role leads on our grants system and processes and ensures we are working in the best way to support our grant-making (approx. £35m of grant spend per year).

You will lead on maintaining, designing and developing grant making systems and processes and their relationship to other parts of the organisation. You will work with colleagues to identify where we could improve our use of existing digital systems or introduce new systems and oversee the introduction of new systems as agreed including the development of a new grant management system. A key element of this role is to help others work in the most efficient and effective way. 

In addition, the role leads on introducing, developing and overseeing the operation of digital systems to support the operation of PHF’s wider business.  The post holder will bring a mix of technical and people skills to lead on continuous improvement, ensuring our systems and workflows fit the needs of the organisation and those we work with, and colleagues are skilled-up to work effectively.  This may involve working on the introduction of new software as required and will include working with our IT support company, software suppliers and colleagues who have specific oversight of some systems.

Our ideal candidate will be an experienced digital systems and data expert who can confidently translate technical language to a non-expert client group in order to improve systems and ways of working. The Research and Engagement Officer will report to, and support, the Healthwatch Manager (either in Barnet or Croydon). They will:

• Deliver research projects – including planning logistics, designing methodology and analysing quantitative and qualitative data.

• Report findings through presentations and written reports throughout the year.

• Lead on organising projects, ensuring that actions are followed up, prioritising effectively and providing relevant outputs.

The Opportunity   

You’ll work closely with the Senior HR Officer to ensure the smooth running of the charity’s HR processes, playing a key role in providing largely administrative support for all aspects of the employee life cycle for the charity. 
 

From posting job adverts and preparing employment contracts to conducting pre-employment checks and completing leaving processes, you will ensure that our HR systems, processes and procedures are maintained appropriately. 

1. General HR  

• Work with the Senior HR Officer to provide HR administration for all aspects of the employee life-cycle from preparing employment contracts and collecting and assessing references, to completing leaving processes and reviewing exit questionnaires  
• Maintain the accuracy of the data across all our platforms; create and amend any relevant HR documents. 
• Administrative support for special HR projects, these might include initiatives like increasing retention, personal development or our staff rewards package. 
• Track and maintain DBS/PVG renewals as the organisation’s criminal records’ check sponsor 

2. Recruitment

• Manage our recruitment platform and training hiring managers on how to use it.  
• Coordinate with staff teams to manage the job requisition to job advertising process; hold them accountable for ensuring that job adverts are posted on the more appropriate/relevant websites, within budget and in good time.  
• Coordinate and schedule interviews with relevant managers 
• Ensure applicants receive prompt and sufficient communications regarding their progress/ the outcome of their applicant journey. 

3. Onboarding, Induction & Separation    

• Process the onboarding of new starters including overseeing collation of required documents, including DBS/PVG checks, right to work checks, reasonable adjustments forms, working from home risk assessments, references and preparing contracts.  
• Carry out DBS renewals for staff, be a port of call with the rest of the safeguarding team for concerns. 
• Coordinate new starters induction including, laptop issue, training set up and IT systems set up. 
• Ensure all new starters receive mandatory training and this is recorded on the HR database and tracked for renewals.  
• Coordinate leavers, including returning of equipment and handover of key information; conducting and recording exit interviews.

Over the last five years we have increased the number of individuals and organisation supporting the charity from 800 to more than 3,500 a year. The charity is set to build on this success and aims to continue this growth, so that we can reach more patients and provide additional support at a time when it is more critical than ever for kidney patients.

The Corporate Partnership Manager will play a key role in this growth. Our Corporate Partnership income has grown from zero in 2020 to c£2.3 million in 2025. It is a very exciting time to be joining the charity and our Fundraising team.

Primarily, you will be responsible for building engagement and driving new income via charity of the year partnerships, corporate partnerships, and employee fundraising. You will manage the Corporate Partnership Officer who is developing a growing portfolio of supporters across different sectors. You will also work closely with the Events Manager, Trust & Foundation Manager, Head of Fundraising and Director of Fundraising, Marketing & Communications as well as the wider Fundraising team to promote and support all opportunities to drive corporate income growth.

Alongside the Director of Fundraising, Marketing & Communications who takes a special interest in the charity’s Corporate Partnerships, you will be tasked with planning, implementing, and delivering the activities, programmes and processes required to grow corporate income from c£2.3m in 2025 to even greater levels over the coming years.

You will do this by stewarding the significant number of existing relationships and partnerships we already hold and maximising any opportunities that exist via our current partnerships and relationships. A key part of this role will require you to develop new opportunities and secure significant income (5-and-6 figure partnerships) through proactive engagement to and through our supporters, beneficiaries, networks, and contacts.

The right candidate will have a proven record of generating strategic partnerships that result in 5-and 6-figure corporate income, building strong and rewarding relationships, with stewardships skills that generate long term support for the charity. You will be a driven and enthusiastic fundraiser with experience of cultivating new relationships across a range of businesses and sectors.

About Our Role

Fundraising Manager

Hours of work: 30 to 37.5 hours per week

Salary: £38,870.89 FTE per annum (£31,096.71 actual salary for 30 hours)

Main purpose of the role:

As a Fundraising Manager, you will:

• Support the Fundraising Team to deliver against their own individual objectives, and the strategic plans for the Fundraising & Communications Team;
• Coordinate efforts to maintain and build relationships with trusts, foundations, partners, regular donors, challenge event participants, and all those giving one-off donations;
• Work with the Director of Fundraising & Communications to develop a local fundraising approach with each L'Arche Community;
• Work directly with L'Arche Communities and project leads to agree funding propositions and ensure with internal and external stakeholders;
• Collaborate with leaders in communications and data and insights to ensure internal and external engagement efforts are aligned;

Key essential criteria:

• Experience of researching, engaging and developing relationships with funders, including trusts and foundations, resulting in significant funding;
• Strong project management and people skills;
• Experience in providing support to and collaborating with fundraisers;
• Experience of using a customer relationship management (CRM) database;

Resident Admissions Officer

We’re delighted to be supporting a highly regarded charity that provides exceptional residential and nursing care for older people. They’re now looking for a compassionate and organised Resident Admissions Officer to join their Resident Services team.

This is a key role responsible for ensuring a smooth, welcoming, and well-managed admissions process for new residents and their families — from the first enquiry through to move-in day.

The role

You’ll act as the first point of contact for all admission enquiries, liaising with residents, relatives, local authorities, and healthcare professionals to deliver a warm and professional service. You’ll manage the admissions database, prepare information packs, maintain waiting lists, and oversee pre-admission administration, ensuring everything runs seamlessly.

You’ll also support the wider Resident Services team — helping to create a positive experience for residents and families throughout their journey, and ensuring communication across clinical and non-clinical teams is timely and effective.

About you

We’re looking for someone who:

• Has excellent communication and relationship-building skills

• Brings strong organisational skills and attention to detail

• Has experience in administration, sales, or marketing, ideally within a care, health, or community setting

• Is comfortable engaging with older people and their families with empathy and professionalism

• Understands (or is open to learning about) the Jewish faith and customs

• Is confident using databases and Microsoft Office

Experience working in a care home or similar environment would be an advantage, as would knowledge of dementia care or funding processes within the care sector.

Job Description

This is an exciting and varied role, and we are looking for a proactive post holder who will manage three key aspects of CARA’s service provision:

- Manage new referrals into our service, overseeing the work of our team of First Contact Navigators and our Information and Referrals Co-ordinator.

- Manage our counselling waiting lists and the allocation of clients to a counsellor, overseeing the work of our Allocations Team.

- Act as the main lead and point of contact for managing CARA’s client database and resolving any data queries.

This role will lead a talented and committed team of six, supporting their work and assisting them to develop their key roles. As well as overseeing day-to-day operations of the team, the post holder will be part of CARA’s management team and will have the opportunity to play a key role in CARA’s wider development, working closely with CARA’s Senior Leadership Team and Team Managers.

The First Contact Navigator project is a shared project with our sister centres, SERICC and SOS Rape Crisis, so the post holder will liaise closely with colleagues in those centres.

Main Responsibilities

Line management and team support

· To line manage CARA’s Information and Referrals Co-ordinator, First Contact Navigators and Allocations Co-ordinators, providing day-to-day support, monitoring performance and identifying training and development needs. This will include keeping up to date notes of line management meetings and conducting and recording annual staff appraisals.

· To support CARA’s Information and Referrals Co-ordinator, First Contact Navigators and Allocations Co-ordinators, working alongside them where necessary, and covering these roles during annual leave and other absences.

· To work with CARA’s Head of Operations to recruit and train new staff and volunteers, as required.

· To liaise with CARA’s other teams and more widely with Synergy East teams, resolving problems and ensuring good communication and mutual understanding of respective roles and ways of operating.

· To be part of the CARA management team and attend regular management team meetings, contributing to CARA’s ongoing development.

Service development

· To work with CARA’s Information and Referrals Co-ordinator, First Contact Navigators, Allocations Co-ordinators, Head of Operations, CEO, and our four team Managers to refine and develop CARA’s referrals and allocations processes.

· To oversee and update CARA’s counselling waiting lists, working with the Allocations Co-ordinators, and leading regular meetings to review waiting times, pushing forwards actions to reduce these wherever possible.

· To oversee and update the CARA map of service delivery ensuring we have an accurate picture of client sessions across our therapy teams.

· To develop expertise in our purpose-designed client database, ensuring the team are fully trained in its use and working with the Senior Leadership Team and Synergy Partners to ensure client data is kept up to date.

· Working with the CEO, Head of Operations and Information and Referrals Co-ordinator to represent CARA at meetings, making presentations about our work.

General 

· To work flexible hours, including some evening work and occasional weekends.

· To participate in CARA team meetings, supervision, training and development. 

· To provide specialist advice to other workers and agencies, including participation in delivery of training sessions.

· To raise awareness of sexual violence and its impact in the community and within other agencies.

· To keep appropriate records in accordance with CARA policies and procedures.

· To adhere in full to all CARA’s organisational policies and procedures, including safeguarding procedures.

· To be administratively self-servicing.

· To report to the Senior Leadership Team and Trustees as required, including the production of regular written reports and verbal reports.

· To undertake any other related activities as required by the Senior Leadership Team or the Chair of the Board of Trustees.
