As Fundraising and Communications Manager, you’ll influence strategy while driving hands-on delivery. You will lead and develop our fundraising and communications functions, ensuring they work seamlessly together to increase income and engagement.

You’ll oversee the operational running of these two key areas, line-managing our Fundraiser and Communications Officer, and working closely with the management team to ensure our messaging reflects the impact of our work.

Operations & People Support Officer

Reporting to: Operations & People Team Leader

Job Purpose

This is an exciting opportunity to be at the heart of the Charity’s operations. You will be the first point of contact for supporters and will deliver outstanding customer care and donor stewardship.

You will build strong working relationships with Charity colleagues, donors (existing and potential), volunteers and Trust staff. The role supports the fundraising teams, assists with the hospital and online shop, and plays a key part in coordinating and administering the Charity’s volunteering function. You will also provide vital People (HR) administration and process support.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

Fundraising & Office

• Undertake day-to-day administrative tasks as directed by the Operations & People Manager and Team Leader, including preparing letters, reports and memos to a high professional standard.

• Handle sensitive information appropriately, maintaining confidentiality at all times.

• Deal with all incoming telephone enquiries in a professional and helpful manner, directing calls correctly and taking accurate messages.

• Support the efficient running of the public Charity office by welcoming donors and visitors in a friendly and professional way.

• Provide excellent customer care and donor stewardship in every interaction.

• Manage incoming mail, ensuring it is opened, distributed and responded to promptly.

• Process donations in line with established receipting procedures.

People / HR Support

Provide People/HR administrative support in the following areas:

• Recruitment, including coordinating recruitment and induction of new starters.

• Volunteer coordination, ensuring a robust process from expression of interest through to induction.

• Administration of staff annual leave and absence reporting.

• Creating staff correspondence, including pay award, furlough and other required communications.

About the role

Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP) is responding to the largest emergency in our 40+ year history. Over the last two years support for our cause has seen significant growth in income as tens of thousands of supporters have joined MAP, including individuals, trusts, foundations and corporates. Our challenge now is to retain this interest and ensure we sustain income as we respond to the ongoing emergency and the longer-term health of Palestinians over the coming years. With an ambition to be a £50m organisation by 2028, the supporter operations and insights team will play a vital role in enabling over one million Palestinians to access improved healthcare annually by 2028.

We’re looking for a strategic and people‑focused leader to head up our Supporter Operations and Insights team. A newly expanded team, this senior role will ensure our supporters receive an outstanding experience, while overseeing supporter operations, supplier management, data quality and insights. You’ll work closely with Fundraising and Finance colleagues to ensure income is processed accurately; deliver insights that drive decision‑making; and ensure operations are compliant and effective.

Many of our systems and processes are on a journey to be made fit for purpose, including a new CRM (MS Dynamics) which is currently being implemented with the support of the Digital, Data and Technology team within the Chief Operating Officer’s team.

What is the role about?
This role leads the teams that look after our supporters behind the scenes and on the front line. You’ll make sure every supporter has a positive experience, that donations are handled accurately, and that we use data and insight to continuously improve how we work.

What will you be responsible for?
You’ll lead supporter care, operations and the performance and insights teams, manage key suppliers, work closely with Finance on income reconciliation, and turn data into insight that shapes fundraising decisions. You won’t manage the CRM system itself, but you’ll work closely with the CRM Technical lead and Head of Data and Insights to ensure supporter needs are met as we continue to embed a new CRM.

We are seeking an enterprising, organised individual to join Akshaya Patra UK as our Supporter Engagement Officer. The role is a joyfully versatile one which requires planning, coordination, and a strong 'make it happen' attitude. As the first point of contact for supporters, community groups, and partners, the candidate will ensure every interaction, whether by phone, email, social media, or in-person, is positive, timely, and professional.

A key part of the role will be to build and grow volunteer chapters across the UK, developing local champions who increase awareness and funds for Akshaya Patra. Knowledge of British culture and geography is welcome, while familiarity with India, its regions, and Indian languages is an added advantage. This role helps build the supporter power to get us there by delivering an excellent membership experience & ensuring our members feel valued, informed and connected to the work of Suffolk Wildlife Trust.

The post holder will take responsibility for the efficient day-to-day administration of the Trust’s membership schemes, using the Charity CRM database to maintain accurate contact & financial records in line with GDPR. This includes processing new, renewing and lapsed memberships, handling payments ( Direct Debits, PayPal & Gift Aid) and providing consistently high-quality communication with members through enquiries, welcome packs, renewal reminders and supporter care.

You’ll also support member growth and retention by helping deliver key supporter journey communications, thanking activity and retention projects, and by liaising with external partners such as the membership recruitment agency. Alongside this, you’ll help co-ordinate membership resources such as welcome packs, leaflets and magazine mail-outs (working with the volunteer delivery network), and contribute to continuous improvement in data quality, reporting and processes to strengthen our systems and supporter relationships.

To succeed in this role, you’ll be committed to Suffolk Wildlife Trust’s mission and bring a proactive, ‘can-do’ approach. You’ll have experience in an administrative, office or customer service role, with strong organisation, attention to detail and a methodical approach to maintaining accurate records.

You’ll be confident using Microsoft 365 and databases/systems with an understanding of GDPR and data protection. You’ll communicate professionally and warmly by phone and in writing, handling confidential information and difficult conversations with sensitivity. This is a maternity cover role to cover a period of maternity leave (up to one year) working 22.5 hours per week over three days (office hours are Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm) based at Brooke House in Ashbocking. There may be opportunity for the role to become a permanent contract. We operate flexible homeworking arrangements where colleagues spend more time working together than homeworking. The starting salary is £14,398.80 per annum pro-rata (FTE £23,998.00).

The Supporter Partnerships Officer (SPO) plays a vital role in delivering an exceptional experience for new and existing supporters of London City Mission.

Purpose of the job:

As a key member of the Fundraising team, you will be the first point of contact for individuals and organisations who give to the charity; handling enquiries, processing donations given over the telephone, updating supporter records, nurturing long-term relationships and providing insight to other members of the fundraising team.

Your work ensures supporters feel valued, informed, and inspired to continue their journey with us. Conversations around personal faith, Biblical convictions around supporting gospel ministry and requests for prayer often form part of the dialogue between the SPO and supporters.

Key responsibilities:

Supporter care and engagement

• Be the first point of contact for supporters' (existing and new) enquiries by phone, email, letter, website and any other fundraising channels. Ensure they experience an excellent standard of response and experience.
• Be responsible for ensuring donations are thanked promptly and for establishing excellent standards of supporter care.
• You will look for opportunities to send stories and communications that show the Mission’s appreciation including leading on the LCM wide thank you events to Individual Giving supporters.
• Keep thank you letters up to date with new stories to show the impact of their donations.
• Respond to the cancellation of donations thanking the supporter for their gifts and ensure that the cancellation was planned.

 Data and insights

• Ensure all supporter information and interactions are captured accurately, up to date and stored in the fundraising CRM in line with GDPR and organisational policies to allow LCM to maximise income. This includes creating new records, assist with managing online donation pages and communicate with supporters on communication preferences and gift aid.
• Run regular reports to track supporter engagement, retention, and income trends.
• Use insights to improve supporter stewardship and fundraising journeys.

Proactive fundraising support

• Identify opportunities to deepen supporter relationships, including upgrading gifts, promoting campaigns, or encouraging long term commitments.
• Support the delivery of fundraising appeals, events, and supporter journeys.
• Collaborate with colleagues across the fundraising team to deliver outstanding supporter experiences.
• Maximise income by ensuring gift aid declarations are correct and up to date giving supporters every opportunity to opt in. 

Donation processing and administration

• Accurately set up new direct debits and Gift Aid declarations.
• During staff absence support the recording and reconciliation of donations if necessary.

Fundraising and supporter partnerships team

• Represent LCM at external events and conferences each year where the SPO will be expected to communicate LCM’s vision with a passion for and understanding of the gospel message, as well as share their personal journey of faith in Jesus Christ.
• Provide support and take part in meetings, activities and events in the Fundraising and Supporter Partnerships Team.
• Fully participate in the spiritual life of the Mission including attending the annual week of prayer, the monthly Team Day and daily staff prayers.

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Supporter Retention and Experience Officer to join our successful Supporter Retention and Experience Unit. Working across a range of offline and online media channels, you will play a key role in supporting the team on retention and supporter experience campaigns to deliver income and build strong loyalty communications to existing supporters, helping to raise £40 million a year.

This role will lead on their own campaigns and projects which will include the development of new initiatives across the Unit.

The Fundraising Support Officer will be central to ensuring our supporters receive the highest standard of care. Key Responsibilities

• Support to the Retail Manager, including acting as first point of contact for order enquiries, exchanges, and returns, and assisting with fulfilling orders from the charity’s online shop.
• Supporter care, to include answering email, post, and telephone correspondence, providing receipts and donor follow-up.
• Accurate recording of donations and correspondence on the charity’s CRM system.
• Support the regular giving and orphan adoption programmes.
• Assist in identifying opportunities with corporate partners and charitable trusts.
• Support the Communications team by drafting and proofreading thank-you letters, donor updates, and impact reports.
• Assist in developing and attending charity events.
• Assist with general fundraising administration and other duties as required by the team.

Person Specification

Essential:

• Demonstrable experience in building relationships with customers or stewarding supporters and donors.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a polite and professional manner.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Confident using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and comfortable learning new systems.
• Familiarity with CRM systems and/or handling supporter or customer data.
• Experience in customer service and administration.
