Location: Remote (Shrewsbury based only) with a minimum of 5 mandatory meetings per year (includes overnight stays for 2-day meetings) at our office in Shrewsbury and occasional meetings elsewhere.

The Role

As Community and Trusts Fundraiser, you will be at the heart of our community fundraising efforts while also taking ownership of your fundraising portfolio, focusing on maximising income from Community groups, Individuals, Trusts and Foundations (both UK and international). You'll build and manage your own portfolio of donors, create fundraising initiatives and try new approaches that inspire and encourage community fundraising. You will provide exceptional stewardship to secure ongoing support. Collaboration and adaptability across this small, yet impactful organisation is key, as is a passion for creating positive change.

Your Responsibilities:

· Develop and deliver engaging fundraising campaigns and activities for community groups and individuals.

· Create and manage a calendar of fundraising events and opportunities that engage and inspire participation from community groups

• Build and manage a portfolio of community supporters, trusts and foundations to maximise income and awareness.
• Develop a robust pipeline of funding applications, securing grants from trusts and foundations.
• Develop and nurture relationships with existing and prospective funders, delivering outstanding stewardship. 
• Organise and support community fundraising events, both in-person and online, co-ordinating event logistics, from kit delivery to stock management and ensuring everything runs smoothly and the success of the event is maximised.
• Write impactful persuasive proposals and donor updates that showcase our work.
• Maintain accurate donor records and ensure timely reporting to funders in line with donation conditions while driving unrestricted and restricted income opportunities.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop social media content that engages supporters.
• Work closely with Head of Fundraising to achieve key fundraising objectives.
• Uphold and embed Village Water values and behaviour expectations in your work.
• Ensure communications are in line with the Fundraising Regulator guidelines.
• Act as an ambassador for Village Water, representing the charity at networking events.
• Be flexible to attend the occasional out of hours event.

This is a key role working alongside our Senior Programme Manager and Senior Race Equity Specialist to shape our ways of working, to enable more and more ethnic diverse people to act for nature.

You will have 2 main areas of responsibility:

1. Supporting senior leaders, Achieving Race Equity taskforce members and the programme team, including coordinating tailored guidance, projects, activities and events, that drive and embed race equity initiatives across the RSPB. This will mean working closely with other parts of the organisation to understand their needs and skills gaps and developing solutions together that meet those needs. This role will act as the first point of contact for all matters concerning support for the taskforce
2. Lead on a ‘Principle Workstream’ within the Achieving Race Equity Programme and take responsibility for ensuring that projects and initiatives within key areas meet the objectives and are coordinated effectively.

This role will play an active role in communicating and engaging with stakeholders and senior management at different levels.

Essential skills, knowledge and experience:

• Demonstrated experience in driving coordinating and synchronising anti-racist/EDI change and trauma informed wellbeing initiatives with dispersed teams, in complex settings. This should include training and facilitation skills with the ability to inspire, motivate, and influence at all levels of the organisation.
• Deep understanding of achieving race equity, intersectionality, and the impact of discrimination in the workplace. Familiarity with the Equality Act 2010 and best practices in race equity work, preferably within the conservation or related sector.
• Proven track record in coordinating multiple projects, activities, and events, managing resources, including financial, logistical support for group operations such as travel and accommodation, while delivering clear, engaging communications.
• Strong experience in creating accessible content across various formats (written, visual, digital) that engages diverse audiences around race equity issues with the ability to move people to action.
• Experience in working with and influencing senior stakeholders and effectively communicating change across the organisation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Teams, Outlook, SharePoint, and other digital communication and project management tools. Strong IT skills with the willingness to learn and adopt new technologies as required.

About the role:

Milton House is a 15-bed mixed-gender accommodation service in Islington, supporting adults facing multiple and complex challenges. With a small and dedicated staff team, we provide tailored casework to residents whose needs may include mental or physical health issues, substance use, histories of offending, or support with living skills and wider aspirations. Our aim is to create a safe, welcoming and well-managed environment where people can build stability and take positive steps towards independent living.

You'll play a vital role in ensuring the smooth running of the service, balancing housing management responsibilities with maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness. Each day you will carry out a thorough clean of the building, including communal areas, bathrooms and offices, helping to create a space where residents and staff feel respected and supported. You will also act as the first point of contact for residents, visitors and contractors, support stock control, uphold health and safety compliance, and assist with practical housing management. Alongside this, you will contribute to the wraparound support we provide, helping residents to keep appointments, manage their budgets and develop the skills they need for greater independence.

This is a role where the impact of your work will be felt immediately, not only in the running of Milton House but also in the daily lives of the people we support. Transformation Hub Manager

Location: Mainly our head office in E12, but also in other venues around the borough of Newham as directed.

Salary: £40,940 per annum

For over five decades, the Renewal Programme has been a trusted cornerstone of the community in the London Borough of Newham, tackling the root causes and consequences of poverty, isolation, and disadvantage.

Role overview

The Transformation Hub Manager will play a pivotal role in reshaping our service offerings by creating a vibrant, inclusive, and strengths-based hub for our communities - many of who are underserved, including asylum seekers, refugees, residents facing isolation, and those affected by homelessness. You will lead on the delivery and successful management of our National Lottery funded RenewALL Hub, transforming our ideas from concept into a sustainable, impactful centre for community wellbeing. Central to this role is continuing to drive the shift from a crisis-led service model to a holistic, strengths-based approach, ensuring the RenewALL hub empowers Newham residents to connect, grow, and thrive. A major part of this transformation will be designing and delivering a wide range of new activities and services. Crucially, the Hub will not just deliver activities for residents but will be co-designed and co-produced with them, embedding lived experience and the voice of the community at its core. Success will depend on your ability to build and lead a coherent, motivated team of staff and volunteers, uniting them behind the shared vision of the Hub. You will work to create a welcoming space that reflects the ambitions of our Open House strategy, where dignity, inclusion, collaboration and empowerment are lived out in every interaction.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Hub Development

• Lead a team to ensure the successful implementation of the RenewALL Hub project, as submitted to the National Lottery Community Fund, aligning all activities with our “Open House” strategy and theory of change.
• Champion and embed a strengths-based, “advantaged thinking” culture across all Hub operations, actively shifting the focus from deficits to assets.
• Build and inspire a coherent, motivated team of staff and volunteers, uniting them around a shared vision for transformation.

Programme Design & Community Co-Production

• Oversee the design, delivery, and continuous evaluation of a diverse, inclusive weekly programme of activities, informed by community consultation and resident priorities.
• Manage a portfolio of activities that improve wellbeing, reduce isolation, and build skills — including health & wellbeing sessions, cultural celebrations, social connection groups, and learning opportunities.
• Facilitate and champion the Community Hub Involvement Panel (CHIP), ensuring residents co-produce activities and influence the Hub’s direction, with a pathway to influencing trustee-level decision making.

Partnership Development

• Build and strengthen partnerships with key stakeholders, including NHS teams, Public Health colleagues and social prescribers, creating integrated wellbeing pathways for Newham residents.
• Maintain and expand relationships with local organisations, agencies, and community groups, ensuring the Hub complements and connects with wider services.

Community Food & Social Connection

• Provide oversight (via the Food Sustainability Coordinator) for all food-related initiatives, ensuring they align with the Hub’s ethos of dignity, choice, and resilience.
• Direct the strategic transition from over-reliance on a traditional Food Bank to an empowering Food Club model, reinforcing pathways from crisis to independence.

Operational Leadership

• Oversee the day-to-day running of the Hub space, ensuring it is safe, welcoming, and open 7 days a week.
• Coordinate and support staff, volunteers, and sessional workers across the Hub, embedding strong safeguarding and trauma-informed practice.

Promotion & Outreach

• Work with the marketing team to promote the Hub’s activities widely, ensuring strong engagement from under-represented and vulnerable groups.
• Conduct outreach to engage under represented residents, ensuring activities are culturally inclusive and accessible.

Monitoring, Evaluation & Compliance

• Lead on the monitoring and evaluation requirements of our Lottery bid.
• Use monitoring and evaluation tools (e.g., Upshot) to track engagement, outcomes, and impact, ensuring activities remain effective and relevant.
• Ensure compliance with all necessary regulations, safeguarding, and legal requirements.

Person Specification

• Passionate about community empowerment, inclusion, and tackling inequalities
• Commitment to strengths-based and dignity-first approaches, especially in working with marginalised communities (e.g., refugees, asylum seekers, people experiencing homelessness)
• Significant experience in leading community development or social impact projects
• Proven track record of designing, delivering, and evaluating community programmes that improve wellbeing and reduce isolation
• Demonstrable experience of co-production with residents or service users, ensuring their voices shape services
• Strong partnership-building skills, with the ability to work effectively with statutory services (e.g., NHS, Public Health, Local Authority) and voluntary/community partners
• Experience of managing staff and volunteers, including supervision, and motivation
• Strong understanding of trauma-informed practice and safeguarding, and ability to embed these across all hub activities

As a Community Engagement Officer you will:

• Lead on donor acquisition and retention strategies with community organisations.
• Develop new local partnerships and maintain strong relationships with supporters.
• Coordinate and attend community fundraising events, from charity stalls to bucket collections.

• Manage and support volunteer ambassadors.

To be successful, you must have experience:

• Has a track record of meeting fundraising targets and building long-term partnerships.
• Be an excellent communicator and confident public speaker.

• Has a full UK driving license and is willing to travel across North and Central London and Hertsmere.
• Experience in the charity sector and familiarity with CRM systems (e.g. Beacon) is desirable.
