Local Quality Advisor - National Youth Agency

The National Youth Agency is looking for a new Local Quality Advisor to join our Youth Work Innovation & Development Team.
 
Contract: Permanent
Hours: Full-time - 37 hours per week
Salary: £37,826 per annum
Remote: This role is homebased (within the UK) with occasional travel for staff residentials and other events.

As the national body for youth work, the NYA has a dual function. We are the professional statutory and regulatory body (PSRB) responsible for qualifications, quality standards, and safeguarding for youth work and services in England. In line with our charity mission and aims, we also champion youth work through research, advocacy, campaigns, and programmes.

About the Role
 
Responsibilities will include:

• Support the Local Quality and Improvement Manager in delivering key Local Offer programmes, such as the Peer Review and Peer Network Programme, helping Local Authorities and organisations meet the needs of young people and fulfil their Statutory Duty (Section 507B).
• Assist in the coordination and delivery of traded services related to Quality Standards and Organisational Development, ensuring high-quality support for partners.
• Contribute to the development, quality assurance, and standardisation of NYA resources related to Quality Standards, working collaboratively across NYA teams.
• Promote NYA standards and resources to the sector, offering support and training to encourage adoption and effective use.
• Identify and deliver support to non-commercial requests, including those from VCSE organisations and Town and Parish Councils seeking information, advice, and guidance.
• Engage with the Local Policy & Partnerships Manager and the NYA Knowledge Team to gather and share sector insights, promoting knowledge exchange across NYA teams and the wider youth work sector.
• Support collaboration with Local Authorities and partner organisations to raise awareness of NYA programmes and encourage engagement with Quality Standards.
• Utilise NYA tools, including CRM and Project Management systems, to help generate timely and relevant performance and financial reports that inform decision-making and support effective programme delivery.

 
Our ideal Local Quality Advisor should have the following:

• Demonstrated experience supporting the delivery of programmes or projects within the youth work, education, or voluntary sector.
• Strong understanding of youth work principles and the statutory duties of Local Authorities (particularly Section 507B).
• Ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders, including Local Authorities, partner organisations, and internal teams.
• Excellent organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to contribute to the development of resources and reports.
• High attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of work.
• Strong time management skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Competence in using digital tools such as Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems and project management platforms. Experience of using project management platform (or similar) would be an advantage
• A proactive, flexible, and agile approach to working across multiple programmes, including attending events and responding to time-sensitive deadlines.

Position Overview: 

At CPI we believe people are at the heart of our success. We are seeking a Grants Officer (Associate)   based in Europe to join our CPI Europe (CPIE) team. Your role is  critical  in ensuring the smooth delivery of the AI Opportunity Fund. This role is responsible for the effective administration of grants including ongoing due diligence and accurate record keeping, contributing to assessing proposals and organisations, stewarding and maintaining effective relationships with grantees and wider partners,  and ensuring compliance, timely reporting and payments. · Lead, direct and manage the finance and operations functions, overseeing two direct reports, ensuring they deliver a high-quality service to all internal and external stakeholders and are seen as adding value, in enabling Career Ready to achieve its vision and strategic objectives through its people. 

· Continue the delivery of a project plan reflecting the 2025-30 strategy, ensuring that activities happen at pace, are deadline-driven and achieve a high level of impact.

Essential skills and experience

Salary and Benefits

Salary: £52,000 to £54,000 FTE (salary will be pro-rata for part time hours)

Business Development Officer £32,000 per annum (pro-rata) plus London Weighting if successful candidate is located in London

The successful candidate will grow 1MM’s community of employers and volunteer mentors and will support the CCO with growing the corporate income stream.

1MM Business Development Officer main tasks include: 

• Developing, own and executing 1MM’s employer and mentor recruitment strategy 

• Researching and identifying new employer and mentor opportunities - including new markets, growth areas, trends, partnerships, or new ways of reaching mentors. 

• Sourcing enough new mentors (on top of 1MM’s existing base) to ensure 1MM has an oversupply (c.15% higher than demand) of fully trained, location relevant mentors available. This year the target is 1600 mentors and will double per year for the next two years. 

• Building a sustainable growth engine that ensures the pipeline of mentors remains sufficient on an ongoing basis through employer, professional and community networks. 

• Generating leads and cold call prospective employer and mentor partners. Tracking and updating all relationships on Salesforce. 

• Fostering and developing relationships with partners and sponsors so that you can generate repeat mentors as well as finding new opportunities 

• Working closely with 1MM colleagues to handover the mentor relationships to the right people across departments. 

• Supporting the CCO to grow 1MM’s corporate income stream by doing market research and mapping employers who support CSR, ESG, Diversity and Community Engagement strategies.

• Presenting with CCO to potential employer partners, hosting stalls at employer conferences and engaging staff networks. 

• Working with the Social Media and Marketing Executive to identify marketing campaigns and collateral in order to attract and recruit mentors. 

• Meeting all quality assurance KPIs. 

• Providing regular reports on progress related to the role.

Terms and Conditions: This is a full-time role with an initial 6-month contract (continuing subject to funding). This role can be done remotely from within our main regions (Greater London, Greater Manchester, Cardiff City Region), with one day in the office per week if located within 45mins of a regional office location. 

Remuneration and benefits: Salary bracket of £32,000 per annum (pro rata) - London Weighting will apply to those living in London.  Up to 6.5% employer pension contribution and 25 days holiday per year (pro-rata) plus 3 concessionary days over Christmas.

As a Sunday Assistant, you will enjoy the freedom and responsibility of running the store on your own, taking charge of daily operations, including serving customers, managing stock and ensuring the store looks its best. - Running the store and ensuring that daily operations run efficiently.

- Ensuring donated goods are processed according to set standards and timeframes, and that pricing is in line with charity guidelines.
- Maximising Gift Aid income and oversee the proper display and administration of bought-in goods, ensuring minimal stock loss.
- Customer engagement and leading by coaching volunteers and staff to have great conversations with every customer on" Rounding up" their purchase, making an "add donation" for our charity and signing up for our loyalty scheme.
- Engaging with the community to drive repeat custom, stock donation, volunteer recruitment and community involvement.
- Managing volunteers and ensuring all staff and volunteers are following Marie Curie procedures and guidelines.
- Taking responsibility for the overall management and operation of the store.

- Key Criteria:
- Previous retail experience, preferably in fashion/clothing.
- Experience of cash handling and financial management procedures (including completion of sales records).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a customer-first attitude and the ability to communicate with tact and discretion,
- Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload, balancing competing demands.
- Understanding of health and safety procedures in a retail environment.
- Experience in managing and motivating volunteers is desirable.
